One of Japan’s longest-running TV series, this anime series features anime adaptations of Japanese folk tales. It’s Group Tac’s second TV series (the first was The Road to Munich, a Munich documentary in 1972). 

The series’ rule was that the creative staff changed each episode. 

The future will see more anime series attempt to replicate the success of the original, though they would not last as long.

Takashi Yanase was the author of Anpanman’s storyline, which took place from 1973 to 2013.

This show has an atmosphere similar to “The Partridge Family.” 

Don’t expect magic girls or kung-fu action. The plotlines are more like I’m going to the mall, and I get lost. The simple style works well in Japan, even though it isn’t universally appreciated by foreigners. 

Because of that, it’s always top-rated and considered “acceptable” by adults.
