Privacy Policy

We collect the minimum necessary and treat your data like we would want ours treated.

This policy describes what we collect when you visit NNTheBlog, how we use it, and the rights you have over it. If any of it is unclear, email us and we will clarify.

1. What we collect

We collect only the minimum data necessary to run the site:

  • Comments: name, email address and IP address at submission time (standard WordPress behavior).
  • Server logs: anonymized traffic data including IP, user agent, referrer and requested URL, retained for security and traffic analysis.
  • Analytics: aggregated, privacy-first metrics. No third-party advertising cookies unless explicitly disclosed.
  • Newsletter subscriptions (if you opt in): email address only, with an unsubscribe link in every email.

2. Why we collect it

Three reasons, no more:

  1. To operate the site (render pages, process comments, serve images).
  2. To understand which articles resonate so we can write more of what you find useful.
  3. To defend against abuse (spam, brute-force login attempts, scraping).

We do not sell data to advertisers, data brokers or any third party. Full stop.

3. Cookies

We use functional cookies required for:

  • Comment submission (so you do not have to re-enter your name each time).
  • Admin session management (logged-in editors).
  • Performance caching (LiteSpeed Cache plugin).

We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies or cross-site trackers.

4. Third-party services

The following services may process limited data when you visit the site:

  • Hosting provider — receives your IP to route requests (standard).
  • Google Fonts — serves the fonts used across the site (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com).
  • Akismet — used to filter comment spam; submits minimal comment metadata for classification.

5. Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)

You can at any time:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct it if inaccurate.
  • Delete it (right to be forgotten).
  • Export it in a portable format.
  • Object to processing.

To exercise any of these, contact us. We respond within 30 days, usually much faster.

6. Data retention

Comments are kept as long as the article they belong to exists. Server logs are rotated after 30 days. Newsletter subscribers remain on the list until unsubscribe. If you have not commented or subscribed, we have nothing tied to you personally.
