After many years of being Tony Stark’s sidekick, Rhodey is finally getting his day. Don Cheadle will be the star of Armor Wars, another live-action series that Marvel has on Disney Plus.

Armor Wars release date
Unfortunately, Armor Wars’ release date is not yet known. We do know that Ms. Marvel and She-Hulk will be released in 2022.
The Direct reported that filming would take place in October/November this year. This would set the show up for a 2023 release.

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier are ahead
Don Cheadle is the only confirmed actor in Armor Wars. The last time Rhodey was seen in the MCU was in The Falcon. He talked with Sam Wilson about the meaning of the shield. Tony was his best friend and Rhodey was still grieving.
The series’ title is a reference to the comic book arc. This could indicate that Justin Hammer (played in the movie Iron Man 2) will be making an appearance. Hammer is due to make a return in Iron Man 2, which was his last appearance.
After her roles in The Falcon, The Winter Soldier and The Falcon, there is speculation that Sharon Carter (played by Emily Vancamp), could be a guest on the show.
According to Deadline, Yassir Lester has been selected to be the head writer. Cheadle and Lester are currently featured in Black Monday, a Showtime series.

Armor Wars Plot
The plot of Armor Wars is not yet fully understood. The comic book series with the same name, however, focuses on what might happen if Tony Stark’s suits fall into the wrong hands.
There’s plenty of Tony’s technology that can be taken in a post-Endgame world. It is possible that Rhodey will defend the technology and suits, but from whom? This is Justin Hammer in comics. However, Sharon Carter, the Power Broker in Disney+, could make her an antagonist.
