In this article we’ll rank the Best Anime Like Blue Lock. This ranking is based on the popularity of anime and also on my opinion. Blue Lock is a Japanese manga series. Focusing on the sports genre, especially soccer, the series is set after the results of the Japan football team after the 2018 World Cup. The anime adaptation finally started in October 2022, and if you’re a fan of the series, as you probably are because it’s great, we have a treat for you.

Blue Lock: Summary

After failing to win the World Cup, there’s unrest in the Japanese Soccer community. Many of the older patrons of the game aren’t too disturbed by the lack of trophies, but newcomer Anri Teiri is livid – and she’s determined to fix what she sees as the problem with Japanese players. To that end she hires maverick coach Jinpachi Ego, who devises an odd yet rigorous plan: he takes the 300 best young soccer players in the country, sends them to a state-of-the-art training facility, and whittles them down until he has the very best striker in the country. Yoichi Isagi is among the boys chosen for the camp. He may be number 299 out of 300, but nothing – and no one – is going to stand in his way of coming out on top.

Best 15 Manga And Anime Like Blue Lock

This list is a recent ranking of new or old manga worth it. For my part, I would not classify Captain Tsubasa in the ranking of the best Anime Like Blue Lock because it’s too overrated.

15. Kuroko no Basket

Teikou Middle School basketball team: An incredibly strong and cohesive team that boasts over 100 players and has won three consecutive championships. The “Generation of Miracles” was a group of 5 prodigies who were a part of their outstanding record. There was an odd rumor concerning the Generation of Miracles that there was another player who was acknowledged by the 5 prodigies… the Phantom Sixth Player.

14. One Outs

The story begins when Hiromichi Kojima, the star batter for the fictional Lycaons of Japan’s Pacific League, travels to Okinawa, a southern Japanese island, to get out of a slump and train. Toa Tokuchi is a 134-kmph pitching pitcher who’s the undisputed king in a gambling style of baseball called “One Out.” Kojima encourages Tokuchi to enroll in the Lycaons. Tokuchi receives 5,000,000 yen per out pitched, but loses 50,000,000 for each point surrendered.

Kagami Taiga meets Kuroko Tetsuya when he joins the Seirin High School basketball team. Kagami is stunned to learn that Kuroko is the sixth man in the Generation of Miracles. Kuroko is not only terrible at shooting and dribbling, but he also lacks the presence of a person on court. Kuroko is a skilled passer who makes use of his lack of presence during games to his advantage. Kagami and Kuroko agree to work together to defeat the Generation of Miracles.

13. DAYS

Days anime centers around Tsukushi Tsukamoto, a shy and awkward teenager who recently attended Seiseki High School. Tsukushi’s childhood friend Sayuri Tachibana and his senpai in school are targeted by bullies. Jin Kazama, an eccentric, extroverted friend from school, offers to help him play soccer.

Tsukushi feels the match is a failure. Jin’s talent, however, fascinates him enough that he agreed to join the school’s soccer team. Tsukushi must do his best to get accepted to the Seiseki soccer team.

12. Shoot!

Next on our list is Shoot!. Toshi, Kenji and Cindy have been close friends since childhood. In middle school, Cindy cheered on the boys’ soccer team.

This group of friends was strong enough to bring the team only one step closer to the final of the national class championship. Sadly, Kenji was involved in a fight among gangs of thugs, and the tournament rules of honor and loyalty disqualified the entire team.

Kenji had retired for good and the dream of winning a championship was crushed. Since then, a few years have passed and the four-man group that was once so close has disintegrated. Each boy has pursued other interests and taken different paths.

Toshi enrolls in Kakegawa Scientific High School to play on Kubo’s soccer team. He doesn’t know that Cindy, Kenji and Jim are also enrolled at that college.

11. Be Blues Be Blues!

Ryuu Ichijou is a boy who dreams to be a member of Japan’s national soccer team. Ryuu is a gifted soccer player and his dreams seem attainable. However, when he was in elementary school, he is hit by a car while trying to protect his friend. He must then endure two years of inauspicious rehabilitation. Ryuu is portrayed as he joins a high school soccer team and struggles through the scars from his injuries to reach his goal.

10. Giant Killing

For numerous years, East Tokyo United has struggled in Japan’s prime soccer league. ETU hires Tatsumi Takeshi, a slightly eccentric coach to improve their performance. Tatsumi, who was once a star player for ETU but left the team in 2008, has now been employed as a coach to an English novice team. It will be difficult as ETU teams have better budgets and players. Tatsumi, however, is an expert in Giant Killing.

9. Ganbare, Kickers!

Ganbare and Kickers is number 9 on our list. Kakeru Daichi, a little girl from Japan, decides to become a striker and turns into an excellent soccer player.

Kakeru’s support makes the team complete and motivates them to take on the “Crimson Devils”. Despite Kakeru’s team losing by 10 to 1, the young striker of Kitahara managed to score against Uesugi, the opposition goalkeeper.

Kakeru’s team is invited to the national championship. Hongo, Kakeru’s goalkeeper, falls for Ayumi Daichi. Later, the team hires a professional coach whose guidance helps them reach the league semifinals where they face the Crimson Devils once again.

After an exhilarating match that lasted two episodes of twenty minutes, Uesugi’s side finally defeated Kakeru’s. The game leaves Kakeru devastated.

8. Bungo

Bungo is currently published. It is also referred to as BUNGO, Bungo.

7. Hungry Heart Wild Striker

Hungry Heart: Wild Striker anime is about Kyosuke Kanno. He is the younger brother to Seisuke Kano (a famous Milan footballer), and has a rebellious, impulsive character. Kasuga learns, in fact, that he was adopted after his parents died in a car accident at the age of 1 and that his biological father Keisuke Narumi was a promising forward.

Kyosuke, bored of constant comparisons with his famous professional footballer brother, decides to quit soccer and dye his hair orange to become a hooligan.

6. World Trigger

The portal to another dimension has been opened and giant invincible creatures have emerged which are threatening all of humanity. The only defense for Earth is a group of mysterious warriors who have taken over alien technology to fight back!

5. Deadman Wonderland

Ten years have passed since Japan’s Great Tokyo Earthquake. People’s memories have faded. Ganta Igarashi is a middle school student who was evacuated. But, Ganta’s fate changes forever when “Red Man” shows up at his school. Ganta is convicted of the crime and sentenced to death. He is also sent to “Deadman Wonderland” jail. It is a brutal and insane game of survival in jail!

Deadman Wonderland, although it is not a sports anime, is included in this ranking of Best Anime Like Blue Lock because, just like Blue Lock and some anime in this ranking, it addresses the theme of survival.

4. Clean Freak Aoyama-kun

Clean Freak! Aoyama-kun is about Aoyama, a young soccer prodigy who never lost a game in his entire life. However, he is also a neat freak. He was a member of the Japan U-16 team and shocked everyone by joining the Fujimi high-school club. It is modest and unknown. He is determined to take Fujimi high school to national championship level along with his crazy teammates.

3. Inazuma Eleven

Inazuma Eleven is about the Raimon soccer team, which was once considered one of the most powerful. However, at the moment, the club faces a threat of dissolution due to a lack of members. Mark Evans, team captain, will restore Raimon’s glory by winning the prestigious Soccer Frontier title.

However, aliens invade the Earth. They offer earthlings the chance to win: if they lose soccer, the aliens will be forced from the Earth. Mark and other players from Japan will fight for the fate of the planet. Soccer Frontier International has been organized, and Japan will send its best players to compete worldwide in this event.

2. Haikyuu!!

Shoyo Hinata’s vision of the “Little Giant”, a legendary volleyball player, has inspired him to try to be the best volleyball player. He joins the team at the same high school that the Little Giant attended, and then surpasses him. When you can jump higher than anyone else, who says it is a must to be tall in order to play volleyball?

Shoyo Hinata, after losing his first and final volleyball match against Tobio Kageyama, “the King on the Court”, swears that he will become his rival when he graduates from middle school. What happens when the man he really wants to defeat turns out to be his teammate?!
