Gokuu Son, a young boy, lives alone in the woods until Bulma, a girl called Bulma, runs into him while searching for the Dragon Balls. Bulma wants to find the artifacts and make a wish for her perfect boyfriend, as they are believed to grant one wish to anyone who collects them all. He discovers that Gokuu has a dragon ball. Bulma makes a deal with him: he will let her use the dragon ball’s power to tag along. The two embarked on the adventure of a lifetime.

They are not alone on this journey. They meet Kuririn, an old Muten-Roshi, and a wannabe disciple. Together, Gokuu trains to be a better martial artist for the World Martial Arts Tournament. It’s not all fun, however. The ability to grant any wish is powerful, and there are many people who would rather have a boyfriend than just wish for one. They train to be stronger fighters and use their newfound strength as a way to help others.

When it seems that Dai and Avan’s other student Pop are doomed a mark appears on Dai’s forehead and he suddenly gains super powers and is able to fend off Hadlar. The two students then go off on a journey to avenge Avan and bring peace back to the world.

When he was sent to Earth as a baby, Gokuu’s sole purpose was to conquer and destroy the planet; but after suffering amnesia from a head injury, his violent and savage nature changed, and instead was raised as a kind and well-mannered boy, now fighting to protect others.

With his failed attempt at forcibly recruiting Gokuu as an ally, Raditz warns Gokuu’s friends of a new threat that’s rapidly approaching Earth—one that could plunge Earth into an intergalactic conflict and cause the heavens themselves to shake. A war will be fought over the seven mystical dragon balls, and only the strongest will survive in Dragon Ball Z.
