Bofuri Characters : All Characters Ranked & Personality Explained

As with any anime set in a virtual world, combat is an important aspect of “Bofuri”: I don’t want to get hurt, so I’ll max out my defense.” There are many characters. Today we’ll present all Bofuri Characters.
All Bofuri Characters

Bofuri Main Characters
Maple

The main heroine of the story, a girl who was convinced to play New World Online by her friend Sally. Unaware of how games work, she chose the Great Shielder class and invested all her skill points into Defense to avoid being in pain – accidentally becoming a Nigh-Invulnerable defensive powerhouse in the process. She later learns the ropes of the game and becomes the guildmaster of Maple Tree.
Sally

Kaede’s best friend, who convinced her to play New World Online. An energetic girl with a history of professional gaming, her build in-game is a high-agility Glass Cannon which allows her to take advantage of her heightened real-life reflexes to dodge attacks.
Bofuri Secondary Characters
Kasumi

A samurai who placed sixth in the game’s first event, who packs incredible speed capable of matching Sally. Initially hostile to Maple and Sally, she befriended them after completing a quest together.
Iz

A crafter who takes commissions for custom gear, who later becomes the guild crafter. Friends with Chrome.
Kanade

A mage whom Maple befriends during the second event. He has a knack for puzzle-solving and analysis.
Chrome

One of the first players that Maple meets, a more conventional great shielder with a more balanced mix of offense and defense. Friends with Iz, he also participates in the New World Online chat room. Ranked ninth in the first event.
Mai & Yui

Two sisters who, like Maple, invested all their skill points into one stat – strength. Maple recruited them after they were rejected from other guilds due to their unorthodox builds. In-game, they are hammer wielders with low survivability and mobility but absolutely ruinous power.
Other Bofuri Minor Characters
Order of the Holy Sword
The main contender for the title of the number one guild of NWO, it is a large guild with hundreds of members in the light novels. The Order of the Holy Sword is notable for the high quality of its leaders as three of the top five players of the first event are members of this guild.
Payne

Leader of the Order of the Holy Sword, and considered to be the strongest player in the game when it comes to PVP. Is also significantly higher level than just about every other player, with his level estimated at around 2-3 times Maple’s.
Dread

Second-place winner of the first event, a knife wielder specializing in speed.
Drag
Player who ranked fifth in the first event, an Axe Fighter with high-power attacks.
Flame Emperors
Mii

Leader of the Flame Emperors, a powerful fire mage with overflowing charisma. Ranked fourth in the first event.
Marcus

A member of the Flame Emperors known as the Split-Sword for his unique combat style. Ranked seventh in the first event and seems to know Kasumi personally.
Misery

The Cleric of the Flame Emperors. Ranked tenth in the first event.
Who Is The Strongest Among Bofuri Characters ?

It would be simple to assess the [STR] stats of each player and then rank them from there. However, this would not give a complete picture of their battle power. Maple has demonstrated it well: one can keep their strength and attack points low, but still be a formidable powerhouse.
8. Dread The Ninja Assassin

Class: Rogue
Specialty Agility, Stealth
First Event Ranking: 2nd
Dread, also known as Dred, is a speedy and stealthy guerrilla who can take out his enemies before they notice him.
His speed is his downfall. Dread’s dagger-wielding skills are impressive, as are his blade-wielding skills.
7. Cheating Death With Chrome

Classes: Shield, (Short) Sword
Specialty Gaming with Death
First Event Ranking: 9th
In Kuromu’s case, “what kills you makes you stronger” since he gained most of his skills while flirting with death. But each time Chrome returns stronger, and he uses his experience to create his own defensive fighting styles with some bonus battle healing.
Chrome gained some new skills and unique armor after his solo mission to the Tomb of the Dead. Syrup assisted him. Stout Guardian makes it even more difficult to kill.
6. The Cultured Kasumi

Class: Swordmaiden
Specialty Agility, Traditional Weaponry
First Event Ranking: 6th
This katana-wielding beauty can keep up with Sally’s speed. Kasumi’s focus is almost exclusively on her swordsmanship, improving temporary stats and sometimes granting them increases.
First of the Swords Heat Haze is an effective manipulation tactic that distorts the victim’s vision. Seventh of the Swords Crush transforms her into a demolition expert. However, Kasumi’s skill activation is much more severe in the light novels than it is in the anime.
5. Yui, Mai’s Team Effort

Class: Hammermaidens
Specialty Strength, Overpowered Weapons
These shy twins are just as ignorant as Maple in MMORPG gaming. However, their Berserker builds can produce brutal battlefield results. But they’re still essentially sitting ducks.
Yui and Mai can inflict most enemies with the support of the Maple Tree Guild. They are able to use their Aftershock, Double Stamp, and Hammer attacks, and each sister can control deadly duel-wielding weapons singlehandedly.
4. Mii The Magician

Class: Mage
Specialty: Fire Magic
First Event Ranking: 4th
The Flame Emperors’ leader gives off strong warmonger vibes and Mii has the power and the means to back it up. Her fiery powers are able to cover large areas and take out multiple units at once, so her loyal followers have little to fear.
Flame Prison, Mii’s strongest spell is able to encapsulate her enemies in a burning, almost indestructible enclosure that deals damage over time. Self-Destruct can only be used last-minute, and Mii is made a kamikaze bomber in order to take down her enemy.
3. Sally the Speedy Swashbuckler

Class: Swashbuckler
Specialty: Duel-wielding swordsmaiden, enhanced Agility
Even though she arrived late and missed the first event, Sally was able to sneak in and take control of the game without any problems.
This gamer girl, whose first skill was to improve her fishing proficiency, has grown into a formidable player. Sally’s natural talent and flamethrowing Oboro are the main reasons for her success.
2. Piercing with Payne

Class: Paladin
Specialty: Great Swordsman, Allrounder
First Event Ranking: 1st
Most opponents run in fear after the leader of the Congregation of the Holy Swords Guild, the Congregation of the Holy Swords Guild, is taken on by Payne. The Paladin is so powerful against Maple because most of his skills are focused on Piercing attacks, rendering the Great Shielder and any other foe virtually defenseless.
Payne is the player that Maple most worries about, even though he almost depleted her HP with just Defense Strike and Sword of Judgment.
1. The Invincible Maple

Class: Great Shielder
Specialty: High [VIT] Defence, Poison Damage
First Event Ranking: 3rd
It seems strange for someone with high defense stats to be able to top the charts. However, Kaede Honjou’s novice’s luck and complete disregard for gaming mechanics have made her the most broken character of NewWorld Online (if it is not Isekai History).
Maple is known for her Machine God mecha ability and protective Loving Sacrifice troop protection. She also has paralyzing Hydra poison, the demonic Atrocity transform, and the nullifying devour.
Can Bofuri’s Characters Really Die In NewWorld Online?

To answer the question definitively, no. NewWorld Online’s active players do not die in real life if they lose their characters in the game. Maple would be a mass killer in all her power, and it would make her far too sweet to do such a thing. The fact is that the player’s character in-game doesn’t actually die if they’re killed in the game. The fourth major event in the game, which occurs from Episode 9 onwards, penalizes characters for each death they suffer. They are not allowed to respawn after the fifth death.
If characters aren’t always dead, where is the tension in the fights? In the end, no one really has to die in a videogame. However, “Bofuri” isn’t about death. It’s a lighthearted comedy, where events don’t always follow logic. The tension in these situations can also be based on Maple and her friends being able to achieve their goals, rather than whether they survive.
You don’t have to tell a grim, dark story to make it dramatic or entertaining. In fact, it may be more enjoyable than other anime based on video games.
