Bosch Season 7 Review & Ending Explained?

The seventh season ends with Bosch applying to be a state-licensed private detective. The clerk who took his paperwork explained that the FBI would need to conduct a background check before Bosch can proceed. This is a reference to all the encounters he has had with them over the years. Is that a problem?

By Prime Video

The camera moves away from them and the audience starts to see that Bosch will do whatever he does next with his daughter. We are treated to a final scene in Detective Harry Bosch’s tragic saga. This sets up fans for a spinoff that will bring together Eric Overmyer, Eric’s “Bosch” series creator.

The FBI is just a placeholder for all the compromises Bosch isn’t willing to make. Fans will have to wait to see how Bosch confronts that “problem” from the outside. Harry Bosch’s story has come full circle in a way that the finale to the season is a mini-conclusion.

Review

Bosch receives confirmation from his local taskforce and an FBI mole, the exact location of the LA RICO investigation’s end. In his pursuit of justice, he is playing a dangerous and brazen game. He approaches the media for the first time to air his dirty laundry. He doesn’t actually arrange for a secret meeting. Can you see what I mean when I say brazen?

Bosch’s Plan for Justice

Scott Anderson, crime beat reporter (Ben Foster-like, Eric Ladin), doesn’t want Bosch to hear his words. He begins to soften, talking about the quid pro quo Chief Irving had given the FBI in order to obtain the dirt on the Mayor for a second term. Evidently, he turned his back on Pena’s investigation and was given all the dirt on the mayoral investigation.

Bosch will not be quiet. Harry waits in the alleyway where Irving’s driver is parked until Chief Irving leaves East Hollywood. He tells Irving what happened, as if he doesn’t know. Irving claims that Sonia, her mom, and all three others who perished in the fire received justice. Pena didn’t toss the Molotov cocktail out of the window because he had just ordered the fire.

Maddie Decides Her Future

Mads throws a curveball in her career. She submits an application to become a police officer. Harry is shocked when she breaks the news. He imagined his daughter attending college, then going to law school and eventually becoming a district attorney. She is now joining the force. Harry once believed in the organization, but now he has lost faith in it. He had a plan that would put him in jeopardy and will definitely hurt Maddie’s career.

New Assignments

Harry asks Billets for help. He isn’t interested in being Jerry’s partner. Bosch is then transferred to West Hollywood along with Vega. Pierce is given the night shift, which does not go well with him. Edgar will be going to the Robbery and Homicide Division. They thought they would be together, but Jerry is a master of Harry’s game. He will commit suicide after visiting CIT Agent Roy Lindell, Matthew Lillard.

Harry will get Pena arrested so that the FBI doesn’t get him. The law requires that the DA file charges against Pena if he does this and presents evidence. They have no choice but to file charges against him. He repeats the phrase a dozen times to his partner, “I can’t leave it alone,” he says. Justice is due to the little tamale girl, her mom, and three other victims of the New Year’s Eve East Hollywood fire. Harry is the only one who can do that.

Bosch Being Bosch

Harry and Edgar were located across the street from Elcholo Spanish Cafe, Los Palmos 13 headquarters. They are aware that the FBI is on the roof across the street. Jerry turns around Harry’s back, and Harry leaps from his car to get security. While Harry sneaks around the kitchen, he is instructed to move and brandish a gun. The cop is invisible in the kitchen, but no one notices him. He is that good.

Bosch calls Jerry to tell him that Pena has entered the restaurant. Bosch grabs Pena and pushes him through a kitchen. The FBI has already heard everything. Pena is still wearing the wire. Pena manages to escape in his Jeep Grand Cherokee. Irving receives a call from FBI telling him that he either gets his mole back or the media will mention Irving’s name.

Bosch calls Pena and charges him with the murders of the little tamale girl as well as the four other murders. Pena is shaking in his pants. He knows that he doesn’t have much time as Irving is always rolling through the doors. Pena is now in the system.

The End of Bosch Season 7 Explained

Season 7 of Amazon Prime’s “Bosch”, the hit series, begins with a firework and ends with a double tap twist that highlights the series’ thematic through-line. The seventh season, an adaptation of Michael Connelly’s novel “The Burning Room”, sees the disillusioned detective’s black and white values clash with the murky politics in L.A. as well as the federal justice system.

Bosch is summoned to New Year’s Eve by Bosch to investigate an arson that claimed five lives. This is a nod to the series’ frequent reminders about the lack of humanity in reporting. Bosch, along with J. Edgar (Jamie Hector), begins a grueling hunt to find the killer responsible for Sonia’s murder.

The End

In Season 7, Bosch learns that the “foot soldiers” responsible for setting the fire are now in custody, but the “commander”, Miguel “Mickey”, Pena, remains at large. Bosch is determined to bring Pena, Gino Vento, to justice. He convinces Pedro Alvarez to turn on Pena, the arsonist who led the Las Palmas gang. Bosch realizes that there are more than just a few powers between him and his goal.

Bosch finally loses faith in his ability to find justice for victims and manage the sometimes unjust politics of both the FBI and LAPD, and hands his badge to Irving. “Who are YOU if you don’t have a badge?

The seventh season ends with Bosch applying to be a state-licensed private detective. Ray Donovan

Showtime’s Ray Donovan stars Liev Schreiber as the title character. He is a “fixer” at the corrupt and ethical law firm Goldman & Drexler. Donovan’s role is to influence people and distribute bribes. He also handles threats and payoffs. All while keeping the company low-profile and off the radar. Donovan was made to like Schreiber’s gruffness, despite his many wrongdoings.

Showtime’s hit series “Ray Donovan”, was cancelled abruptly after seven seasons. Fans and the Showtime team were shocked. “Ray Donovan”, a victim of the merger between CBS, Viacom, was taken off the block. Showtime was able, thanks to fan outrage to bring the series back to life for a movie in 2022, which wrapped up what would have been completed in a final eighth season.

Broadchurch

What about a police procedural that includes a cup of tea? Broadchurch takes place in the UK, in a fictional small town where Alec Hardy (David Tennant), and Ellie Miller (Olivia Colman), reluctantly join forces to solve the murder of a local boy.

Broadchurch, the town, creates the mood for “Broadchurch”, (the show). The English-style seaside is a dark setting that’s perfect for the macabre cases Hardy and Miller tackle. Because it is a small community, each resident has their own theories, connections, and involvements in the cases. This may or may not prove to be of any assistance to the detectives.

The Americans

“The Americans” isn’t a police procedural. It is a riveting spy drama with many of the same elements of tension and family dynamics as “Bosch.” Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys star as Elizabeth and Philip Jennings in the 1980s-set series. They are Soviet Union spies who live in secret and raise a family in Washington D.C. while reporting back to Mother Russia. You’ll be confused who to support as they take on different cases and make friends with the FBI agent across the street.

Joe Weisberg, a former CIA agent and real-life author of “The Americans”, created the show. Joel Fields, writer/executive producers/showrunner of “The Americans”, told Slate in 2013 that the show was “at its core a story about marriage.” International relations are just an illustration of human relationships. Sometimes it can feel like death or life when you are in a difficult marriage or with your child.

Luther

From 2010 to 2019, Idris Elba was Detective Chief Inspector John Luther in BBC’s “Luther.” Although the character is evidently inspired by Sherlock Holmes and Columbo’s characters, it has a very shaky morality regarding Luther. Although he is dedicated to his work and is an excellent detective, his motives for achieving his goals are questionable.

Luther is known for his violent tendencies and his relationship to Alice Morgan (Ruth Wilson), a suspected murderer, is dangerous. The relationship between Luther and Alice begins with them using each other. Later, their relationship grows deeper, but their friendship becomes increasingly suspect due to Alice’s… hobby.

“Luther,” is more like a miniseries rather than a lengthy, complex series. Each season only has a handful of episodes so they can be binged easily. Each season has between two to six episodes. A Netflix movie is in the works that will feature Luther.

Jack Ryan

Tom Clancy’s character Jack Ryan is a CIA analyst and Marine veteran. He has been played over the years by many Hollywood A-listers, including Alec Baldwin

John Krasinski is the latest actor to take on the Ryan role. This time Jack Ryan is on TV, which allows for deeper story exploration. Amazon Prime’s Jack Ryan isn’t limited to any particular Clancy novel. The show has only had two seasons. Although it has received mixed reviews, it is worth watching if you are looking for an intrigue-filled series that is action-heavy and procedural-adjacent.

Bosch: Legacy Episode 8

Harry is closer to solving Vance’s heirs case when he remembers his past as a police officer. He visits Clint Jordan’s home and meets his son. The man and boy are likely Bosch’s biological father or stepbrother, although this is not mentioned explicitly in the episode. Young Harry (Eamonn Weiver) says that he doesn’t want anything from him. The reason he sought out the lawyer was to put a face on the name. Harry was able to find him because the man was named as Harry’s lawyer in his mother’s custody appeal.

Michael Connelly’s original books reveal Harry’s father to be J. Michael Haller. He was a prominent defense attorney who lived on Canon Drive in Beverly Hills. His clients included Frank Morgan, jazz saxophonist, and Mickey Cohen, an alleged gangster. He also represented one of the women who were part of Charles Manson’s cult. Harry is shown meeting his father at the end of Charles Manson’s life.

Did James Sharp have a gun in his car?

The seventh episode ends with Lieutenant Cosgrove, SIS, ordering the police to fire on James Sharp’s car. He apparently believes that Sharp has a gun. Both Nicole and James are later killed. Later, a gun was found at the scene.

It is not clear if Sharp had the gun when the SIS opened fire. Honey Chandler will again testify to the innermost problems of LAPD officers if he did not have access.
