Disney+ Disenchanted 2. Enchanted made its way to the big screen in 2007. Its success prompted the release of Disenchanted, the sequel to the fantasy musical. It was a mix of live-action and traditional animation. Disney could experiment with the way they told stories inspired by royalty through the multimedia feature film. Enchanted was able to pay tribute to Disney’s most beloved princesses, while also executing a humorous satire of its own tropes.

Disney announced the long-awaited sequel to The Lion King at the end of 2020, over a decade after the original movie’s release. The filming began in 2021. We now have more information on the sequel’s plans two years later. On September 9, 2022, a trailer and additional information about the film were unveiled at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, California. It reads, “It’s been 15 years since Giselle married Robert, but Giselle is becoming disillusioned in the city. So they move their growing family into the quiet suburban community of Monroeville to seek a better life.” Unfortunately, it’s not the quick fix she hoped for. Suburbia now has new rules, and Malvina Monroe is the local queen bee. This makes Giselle feel even more out of her element.
“Frustrated by the difficulty of finding her happily ever after, she resorts to the magic and help of Andalasia. Inadvertently, the entire town becomes a fairy tale, putting her family’s happiness at risk. Giselle is now in a race against the clock to reverse the spell, and decide what happiness ever after means to her and her family.
Disney+ Disenchanted 2 Release Date
Disenchanted will release on Disney+ Thanksgiving. Filming for the sequel took place from May-July 2021 in Ireland. After that, some reshoots were done in March and April 2022. We are hopeful that the November release date will be confirmed. Disenchanted will be streamable worldwide on Disney+ starting November 24, 2022.

The most obvious suggestion for anyone waiting impatiently for the release of Disenchanted is to watch the original, Enchanted. With Disenchanted being released onto Disney+, potential viewers will have to have a subscription to the platform to watch the film and with that comes many other Disney titles including, but not limited to, Enchanted.
