In the 🐲Dragon Ball universe, dinosaurs (恐竜, Kyōryū) are alive and living on Earth. Different versions of these beings live on other planets, Namek and a planet named Mogina… and many other things.

Pilaf Saga

Shortly before meeting Yamcha, Chi-Chi meets and kills a T. rex by cutting off its head. This appearance of the T. rex is a lot more accurate than the real-life counterparts that are later in this series. In Fungus Town, dinosaurs can be described as pack and transport animals.

The 21st Martial Arts Tournament: Saga

A large dinosaur, possibly a Triceratops, can be seen walking in the forest after Yamcha’s ship crashes into a tree. In addition to this, a T. rex frequently chases 💪 Goku and Krillin during their training under Kame-Sen’nin. This T. Rex appears very little different to the ones that appear later in Dragon Ball Z.

Red Ribbon Saga

Goku’s adventure to the Western Capital to find Bulma, and to repair the Dragon Radar. A woman is seen walking around with a T. rex small-sized green dog. It is also revealed that Dr. Brief keeps dinosaurs as pets.

Yamcha and Krillin were pursued by another T. rex while they were training with Kame Sen’nin for the 22nd World Martial Arts Tournament.

Dragon Ball Z

Saiyan Saga

Gohan is constantly being chased by a hungry T. rex while he was out in the wild. He noticed a large herd of triceratops while he was high up on the rock formation. He has a friendship with an injured Apatosaurus (草食恐竜, Sōshoku kyōryū ;. Apatosaurus, an enlightened “herbivorous dinosaur”) which is then eaten by the T. rex. Gohan suddenly overtakes the T. Rex and chops it into pieces to cook and eat. Gohan is the one who finally finds the T. rex.

Freezer Saga

When filling an episode, Krillin, Bulma, and Gohan are currently on “Namek”. A giant dinosaur takes the sphere from the dragon, and then it goes to a lake with acid, where it is drowned. It was later discovered that both the acid and the dinosaurs were illusions. This is similar to everything else on FakeNamek: Raiti and Zaacro. Bulma is pursued by a T.rex on Namek but is ultimately killed by Krillin and Gohan.

Bulma seems to be being chased by a huge herd of T. rex 🐲 and triceratops, but it turns out that they are only fleeing from the immense power of Frieza.

Cell Saga

When people panic following Cell’s announcement that he would destroy Earth, two dinosaurs (apparently in business suits) can be seen panicking (probably humanoid).

Majin Buu Saga

Gohan and Goten have a pet pterodactyl named Chobi. Chobi has a mother named Toh Toh as well as a father named Toh Toh. Chobi is kidnapped by Mr. Musaka, a greedy circus man. Gohan, as Great Saiyaman, tried to save them but Chobi and Videl get into a fight and Chobi calls his parents. They attack Satan City. Gohan was forced to intervene to stop Videl from attacking Toh Toh. The family reunites and Mr. Musaka was arrested for stealing firearms by an Officer.

Goten also found two dinosaurs while Gohan was training 💪. The first is a baby. The second is a dinosaur with a resemblance to the Great Dragon. It lashes with its tail. Gohan and Goten believed the Great Dragon to have been killed. In reality, this dragon was just a dragon. Many dinosaurs can be seen giving their support to Goku’s Genki-dama.

In the epilogue, Goku protects two aerodactyl egg parents who were in an apparently bad spot to care for. Two dinosaurs pass by, causing the earth to shake and the nest to fall. Goku soon carries them both and then throws them away. Goku then leaves the area where they were supposed to be after their hatching for Bulma’s party.

Dragon Ball Super

Battle of Gods Saga

A dinosaur appears on Planet Mogina. It was then killed by the Moginan leader. Whis requests Beerus’ corpse to be eaten, but the Moginan Leader refuses to give it. Beerus is forced into fighting it. However, the God of Destruction decides he doesn’t want to eat dinosaurs and ends up destroying the planet.

Dragon Ball GT

Baby Saga

The population of Earth. Goku was teleporting them to Planet Plant after the destruction of Earth by the hands of the Black Star 🐲 Dragon Spheres. Teleportation is used to transport two dinosaurs, a T. Rex and a Triceratops, to Planet Plant. Their sizes make it impossible to fit them in the spaceship.

Movies

Dragon Ball Z (movie).

In Garlic Jr., Gohan, who had just eaten a purple fruit, plays with a dinosaur named Purple. Euphoric.

Dragon Ball Z: The decisive super battle for Planet Earth

You can search for the spheres. In the film’s opening sequence, Gohan is chased down by another hungry dinosaur. This scene is very similar to the opening scene of the anime, where a T. Rex chases Gohan to CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA.

Dragon Ball Z: Dangerous Duo Super warriors never go to sleep

The monster is attacking Natade Village, the dinosaur. Goten, Trunks, and Videl created a trap so Goten and Trunks can easily conquer it.

Hey! Goku and his friends are back!

In the opening of Hey! Hey!, Goten, Trunks, and Trunks are chased down by a dinosaur that references the scene from Saiyan Saga in which Gohan is chased down by a dinosaur. Videl, Bulma, and Chi-Chi can also chase them.

Video games

• In Dragon Ball Z III: Ressen Jinzō Ningen A1, Gohan and his friends need to find a herb to make a laxative for the city to earn the five-star sphere. A dinosaur named Triceratops King is a boss in this game.
• In Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 3 and Dragon Ball Z: Infinite World, a stage is where a fighter is thrown onto rock and breaks them. An orange T. Rex tries to eat it and then throws its tail back on the stage.
• In 🐲 Dragon Ball Z: Infinite World, when fighting in one of the scenarios and giving a very strong blow to the enemy, a cinematic is shown where the opponent destroys a mountain and collides with a dinosaur which tries to bite the victim of the blow twice, failing, so it gives a pigtail to the character, which takes away quite a lot of health.

Curiosities

• Beerus in the movie Dragon Ball Z: Battle of the Gods and in Dragon Ball Super claimed that he exterminated dinosaurs from the face of the Earth, but in the world of Dragon Ball, dinosaurs still thrive on the planet. In fact, a dinosaur can be seen briefly during Beerus’ fight against Goku. In the movie and in Dragon Ball Super, Beerus was wrong to say that anime has a dinosaur. Arale Nirimaki’s use of the Slipper of Time can help explain this plot hole. Dr. Slump manga and anime were used to save the dinosaurs’ existence. Therefore, it is possible that Beerus destroyed 💪 them as he had claimed, however, Arale managed to bring some from the past to the present, explaining their presence on Earth in Dragon Ball.
