This can sometimes be very interesting, but it’s quickly squelched by tired, formulaic, soapy shenanigans that are now common fodder for this type of show.

Netflix is reported to have spent PS1 million to hire the England football team wags, which they will use for their own show later in the year. Netflix, please use this money to fund more animation such as Arcane. There seems to be no end to this “reality” TV factory.

It’s important to note that First Class is a “docu soap” so you should be careful what you read. These characters are all flamboyantly brought in to cause trouble (looking at Archie!). Others are more bland and forgettable.

The first episode serves as an appetizer to the drama that will follow. All the drama from large parties and social disputes will be featured in the chapters that follow. There are the usual arguments and dramatic fallouts. This is exemplified by the banal form of whispers or badmouthing behind each other’s backs.

Although it’s pretty standard stuff, reality TV fans will find plenty to love here. There’s not much that is unique in this field.

The show is characterized by the beautiful city of Barcelona and its bustling atmosphere. This is your standard set-up with typical people who “live their best lives”. They dance, party, and drink cocktails. Although First Class is given an F for originality, if you are a big fan of reality television, you will likely get a pass. There’s not much here that you can really sink your teeth into. This one is not for you.
