Greatest Battle Scenes in Mangas: Our Top 30+

Greatest Battle Scenes in Mangas : Our Top 30+

Greatest Battle Scenes in Mangas are an integral part of anime. A great anime can have great fight scenes, whether it’s with super-powered characters, robots, or a simple game of cards.

The Greatest Battle Scenes in Mangas

1. Goku vs. Vegeta, First Fight ‘Dragon Ball Z ‘

Before the “Super Saiyan”, Vegeta and Goku brutally attacked each other in their base forms during their first encounter. I was so caught up in their back-and-forth brawl that both pureblood Saiyans got more and more angry as they suffered damage from each other’s energy attacks and stiff strikes. The epic atmosphere of the “Saiyan Saga” encounter was enhanced by Goku’s “Kaioken”, which allowed him to balance the odds. Vegeta transformed into a Giant Great Ape, terrorizing Goku and his friends.

2. Goku vs. Frieza (First Fight) ‘Dragon Ball Z’

I was legitimately afraid of what would happen to Krillin, Goku, and Gohan when Frieza had to accept his “Final Form.” These fears turned out to be justified, as Frieza destroyed Krillin with ease. Then…it happened! Goku’s extreme rage drove him to become a Super Saiyan, which placed him on equal footing with his heartless opponent. The next fight is one of the most intense and long-lasting in DBZ History. This fight is full of nasty punches and sick kicks. There are also tail whips, pimp-slaps, and even biting. I was so happy when Goku used an energy blast to kill Frieza and save Planet Namek from exploding. – Elton Jones

3. Gohan vs. Cell ‘Dragon Ball Z ‘

Rarely does Gohan get his “face back” these days. What I mean is that the Gohan of old has power levels that are even greater than his father Goku. Cell finally released his “Perfect” form and gave Teen Gohan, the Z-Fighters, hell. Goku fought for a while with Cell before he decided to throw the match and put all of Planet Earth’s hopes on his teenage son.

From that point, I was privy to every emotional development and devastating blow Cell and Gohan landed on one another. There are so many amazing moments from this fight: Cell’s sudden bearhug against Gohan, Gohan unleashing his true potential at seeing Android 16’s head get smashed to pieces, Gohan ripping apart Cell Jr. with ease, and the iconic Father-Son Kamehameha ending Cell.

31: Jaden vs. Yugi (Yu-Gi-Oh! GX)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KWTUsi3kJkc

Although we don’t know how this duel will end, we can see our hero regain his passion for cards while standing next to the King of Games. It’s refreshing to see Judai back to dueling after going through so many terrible duels and taking on unimaginable risks. He needs all the positive vibes he can get, as he faces a living legend that will do everything possible… and more.

4. All Might vs. All For One “My Hero Academia”

It’s still hard to believe that All Might cannot tap into his “Quirk” to save the day. He used the last embers from “One for All” in order to incapacitate his greatest adversary one more time. This was a battle for the ages. All Might tested his body and power to the limits, while All for One challenged his heroic ideals and boosted his abilities simultaneously. It was like watching the heroes, students and non-quirky onlookers cheer on All Might as they used a decisive “United States of Smash” to knock All for One out. This final image, with All Might looking weak and bleeding while holding a fist in victory, is one of my favorite anime fight scenes. –

5. Endeavor and Hawks vs. High-End Nomu ‘My Hero Academia’

Endeavor was my #1 hero after this fight. Endeavor won my trust by doing everything he could to protect his family and friends. He had to use all of his inner flames to defeat the “Nomu”, a super-powerful, super-human being. This fight is especially enjoyable because it takes place primarily in the air. Endeavor’s offensive push against the solo threat looks amazing as Hawks and Endeavor combine their Quirks to gain an advantage in the sky above. Although Endeavor loses an eye in this drag-out melee, he still has the strength and will to go on. The best thing about this fight is that, even though Shoto has not forgiven Endeavor for his actions towards him and his siblings in the past, he can’t help feeling thankful that he prevailed.

Rider (Medusa), Emiya Shirou vs. Saber Alt (Artoria Pendragon), Fate/stay-night: Heaven’s Feel III. spring song

A confession: If I had to choose between Saber or Rider I would choose Medusa, the Gorgon. This little fact is why I chose this fight scene to be my second favorite. We now see Shirou join forces with the Bewitching Black Serpent to save Matou Sakura from a terrible fate. Shirou is going through so much. The well-animated fight and the tragic end to this fight will only strengthen his resolve to save the woman that he loves.

6. Tanjiro and Nezuko vs. Rui ‘Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba’

Demon Slayer has an anime show that clearly has a large budget for its animators. Every episode has a few moments that I find most amazing. These episodes are often tied to the greatest battles of the series. This skirmish between 2v1 is a great example of how much care and love goes into Demon Slayer’s violence.

Tanjiro was certainly busy with Rui, his sharp webs and extra-sharp webs. His sister Nezuko, who was on the scene to defend her brother after Tanjiro’s sword broke, saved him from certain death. I won’t lie, Nezuko was caught in Rui’s web. I began to lose all hope until Tanjiro made a final strike. The power of flames enveloped him and his severed knife. This is enough reason to be included in this list of top anime fight scenes.

7. Kyojuro Rengoku vs. Akaza Demon Slayer : Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train’

I wasn’t ready for Kyojuro Rengoku’s death! I thought he would find a way out to defeat another “Twelve Kizuki,” but I was wrong. I have to applaud Rengoku’s valiant efforts before his death. With Tanjiro and Zenitsu watching, Rengoku used his flame-breathing fighting techniques to keep the fight going for as long as possible. Akaza is a very hateable character. This made it easy to cheer Rengoku while he kept up with the enemy’s powerful attacks and responded with devastating sword strikes in retaliation. Akaza nearly had his head cut off! However, Rengoku walked out like a G to show his fellow “Demon Slayers”, what it meant to be a great protector.

8. The Demon Slayers vs Daki & Gyutaro Demon Slayer – Kimetsu No Yaiba’

Demon Slayer can proudly claim that it has the best anime fight scenes because it seems to go over its animation budget each time there is a dramatic scuffle. This multi-person battle royal is proof of that! Sound Hashira Tengen Uzui and Tanjiro and Zenitsu and Inosuke finally fought with Daki and Gyutaro. It was a great victory! Tengen and Tanjiro unified against Gyutaro, while Zenitsu & Inosuke did their part in the fight against the dominant Daki. My neighbors were almost awakened when Tengen ran in to shave Gyutaro’s legs. Demon Slayer’s “Entertainment District Arc” certainly ended with a bang.

9. Jotaro vs. Dio “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders”

Capcom’s JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure fighting video was my first. I loved the wild punching matches Jotaro or Dio would engage in. After finally seeing the source material, I was a convert. Jotaro and Dio’s dramatic exchange kept me on the edge of my seat for several minutes – Jotaro almost made me believe that Jotaro was dead after Dio crushed a construction vehicle onto him! The moment Jotaro appeared behind Dio, I let out a huge sigh of relief and used “Star Platinum” with “The World” Apart to punch him in the leg. This fight is a favorite of mine. I also love the savage Dio and Jotaro’s determination in the face of certain doom.

10. Cioccolata vs. Giorno Giovanna ‘JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind’

Thanks to Giorno Giovanna, for coming through his difficult upbringing and becoming a formidable Stand user after all is said and done. He was a great guy and I loved him more as he took on the relentless Cioccolata. Cioccolata is still my favorite horror story. He can still survive with severed limbs, and use his Stand’s molds to kill his foes. My boy Giorno, and #5 from the “Sex Pistols,” did a great job in getting rid of Cioccolata. This fight is one of the most memorable anime fight scenes. It was amazing to see Giorno explaining how he defeated Cioccolata.

11. Mob vs. Koyama (First Fight) ‘Mob Psycho 100’

Mob won’t hurt anyone! However, Mob Psycho 100 has been pushed to the limit by other “Espers”, who threaten him and his friends. This is evident the moment Mob captures Koyama in an alleyway. Mob captures Ritsu, Mob then steps in to save Ritsu. This is the beginning of one of the most intense yet flashiest, but also most powerful, psychic power-fueled fights in Mob 100. Mob and Koyama fight in a small alleyway that is large enough to withstand all the violent fisticuffs that ensue during their encounter. Mob finally incapacitates Koyama at 100%, and I gave him a round of applause that lasted over an hour.

12. Ash vs. Leon “Pokemon Journeys”: The Series

Since the mid-90s I have followed Ash Ketchum on his journey to become the greatest Pokemon trainer ever. While I was unable to follow his adventures in the latest generation of “Pocket Monster”, collecting and battling, it was still a great experience. I also made sure I attended his career-defining victory against one of his strongest opponents. Ash and Leon provided the trainer battle that brought me back to my junior high days when I was battling other Pokemon with level 100.

This was the greatest moment in all of this. It happened between Charizard and Pikachu, my favorite OG Pokemon. Pikachu scored the final lightning-charged headbutt against Ash to win what seemed like the end of all hope. This fight is one of my favorite anime scenes.

13. Eren vs. Annie ‘Attack on Titan’

This Attack on Titan fight scene is the best and most memorable. It’s the first time the viewer actually sees two humanoid titans fight, rather than a pure titan being taken on by another human. This scene foreshadows much of what we will see in the next few seasons. In the fight, members of the nine titans face off against one another, demonstrating their combat IQs and technical skills. The first titan that we see is not a pure titan. This means it thinks intelligently and acts more like a human. Their fight is the culmination of one of the biggest narrative shifts in the show’s history.

14. Spike Spiegel vs. Vicious ‘Cowboy Bebop’

Vicious and Spike are amazing foils in Cowboy Bebop. The show’s antagonist and protagonist grew up in the Red Dragon crime syndicate together. In many ways, the show explores how they have changed from their common past.

This scene is stunning from an aesthetic standpoint. It perfectly captures the noir style that has characterized so much of the series’ run. Spike and Vicious are even visually identical, with different hairstyles. The final battle gives context to the rose motif sprinkled throughout the series.

15. Chairman Netero vs. Meruem ‘Hunter x Hunter’

This one was not included in the ranked list, but we could have done it. The “Chimera Ant” arc of Hunter is an exploration of the conflict between “monsters” and “man.” Netero, humanity’s most fearsome warrior, is facing off against the warriors of the monsters in the most crucial battle of the series.

The most interesting thing about the last arc is the transformations that the human characters experience as they lose their humanity. Netero must eventually use the most unethical weapon in human history, a nuclear bomb, to defeat Meruem. Meruem is also becoming more human-like and sympathetic, and he finds great joy in fighting and respects his opponent’s strength. This is the most beautiful conclusion to the show’s themes, second only to the meeting with Neferpitou and Gon.

16. Yusuke vs. Younger Toguro ‘Yu Yu Hakusho’

Because of their ability to raise stakes, tournament arcs have been proven to be a reliable way of creating epic fights. It is important that someone who is extremely strong defeats someone else. Then you can show them that they are stronger than them. Dang, they’re strong!

The Dark Tournament is the most important tournament arc. Toguro’s ability to raise his power levels consistently is a clear stakes-raising element throughout the fight. Yusuke finally puts his growing power to the test.

17. Edward Elric vs. Father “Fullmetal Alchemist”: Brotherhood

It’s difficult to summarize this one in a concise manner for this article. You should watch Fullmetal Alchemist : Brotherhood. Seriously. The fight is visually stunning, but it’s the story that makes this sequence so compelling. This fight is a masterpiece of narrative anime, thanks to the music, dialogue and ability to tie up much of what’s happened over the series.

18. Rock Lee vs. Gaara “Naruto”

Rock Lee vs. Gaara may have the most epic “this guy is nice” sequence in anime. Gaara was positioned at the beginning as the strongest Chunin exam competitor, while Rock Lee was seen as an unbeatable hard worker who may not be able to match any other competitors.

Rock Lee is able to remove his ankle weights if Guy Sensei tells him (to scoff at the onlookers). The fight really begins when Lee relies solely on Taijutsu. This is one of the most impressive displays of skill, speed, and tenacity that anime has ever seen. Many Naruto viewers can still vividly recall seeing Rock Lee strike his first blow on Gaara.

19. Gon vs. Neferpitou – Hunter x Hunter

Similar to Meruem and Netero, Gon and Neferpitou are the culmination of all the themes that were developed during the long Chimera Ant series. Netero must eventually rely on man-made weapons to defeat his opponent. This battle makes the metaphor even more clear: Gon must fully transform into a monster to win.

Gon summons all the power he can to defeat the series’ second antagonist. Pitou also mentions that Gon might be able to rival the king in this sequence. It is hard to believe that Gon will be able to make it without Kite. The final battle is the culmination of all the complex themes in the arc.

20. Luffy vs. Rob Lucci ‘One Piece’

Many One Piece fans consider Enies Lobby One Piece’s best episode. It’s difficult to disagree with them. This is the arc many fans refer to as the “really good” arc, nearly 300 episodes in. Rob Lucci is the antagonist in “Water 7” into Enies Lobby. This fight has higher stakes than any other. The battle is even more satisfying because it marks the end of a Nico Robin rescue mission.

The debut of Luffy’s “Gear 2” is the most thrilling part of the encounter, both narratively and visually. His first attempt at using the gear ability is a foreshadowing of a lot of the ways he will become a devil fruit-user in the future arcs. It also finally solidifies Luffy’s status as someone powerful enough to conquer the New World.

21. Luffy vs. Kaido ‘One Piece’

This fight is definitely one-on-one. It could be recency bias. This fight was the one I chose to watch over Luffy’s with Katakuri. However, Katakuri can drag a little.

This battle has high stakes. Kaido was teased and hinted at for hundreds of episodes prior to the showdown. This fight also demonstrates the effectiveness of Snake Man, something we have only seen in the battle against Katakuri. Visually, fights that involve Luffy fighting a large person are always the most entertaining.

22. Saitama vs. Genos ‘One Punch Man’

The show’s first battle between Saitama & Genos is one of the most hilarious. It sets the stage for the main story of the series. Genos has worked tirelessly to develop his cyborg technology over many years. But Genos’s power pales in comparison with Saitama’s modest workout routine. Saitama’s punch that blasted away the entire mountain is a nice finish to the sequence. It also shows us how much power he has yet to show.

23. Saitama vs. Boros ‘One Punch Man’

Saitama Vs Boros is my favorite Saitama vs Boros episode. It establishes the show’s direct logic even further. People get into power-scaling conversations about Saitama (“Goku solos Saitama!”). I direct them to this fight. Boros is a threat to the galaxy. Boros is Goku in his own universe. Saitama is the ultimate example of how relative power can be achieved within one’s own universe. He is known as the “One Punch Man.”

24. Asuka vs. Mass Production Eva Series The End of Evangelion’

Mecha narratives are a fundamental part of anime and Neon Genesis: Evangelion is the best series to do justice to this genre. Evangelion is a mecha anime that is incredibly gory. The machines have a human-like quality and the violence is often more disturbing than in other mecha anime.

25. Naruto vs. Sasuke, Final Fight – ‘Naruto shippuden’

Even with all the spectacular clashes and towering beasts that swarmed my screen, the thing I enjoyed the most was watching Naruto & Sasuke start their final encounter with simple fisticuffs. As the scuffle progressed, I was amazed at how both ninjas came to play and raised stakes.

Naruto used his powerful “Six Paths Sage Mode” to defeat Sasuke, while Sasuke used the full power of his “Rinnegan”. The result of both friends and enemies relying upon their unleashed power was one of the most memorable Naruto fights that I’ve ever witnessed. As the final battleground where the two characters that fans have adored since the beginning of the series met, the “Valley of the End”, was fittingly named. Those flashbacks were very powerful for me emotionally.

26. Universe 6 vs. Jiren ‘Dragon Ball Super’

It took all the strength of Goku and Vegeta, Android 17 and even Goku’s mortal enemy Frieza for Jiren from Universe 11 to be forced out of the ring at the end of the “Universal Survival” arc. Jiren’s incredible power levels kept everyone on the ropes. Vegeta was even forced to leave the fray after he defeated his three comrades! It’s amazing how intense this clash gets. Goku taps into “Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan”, “Ultra Instinct”, and Frieza puts on his “Golden Frieza” drip to get over the top and engage in a hyped-up front to weaken Jiren. The Dragon Ball Super anime was over. I saw Frieza and Goku uniting to defeat a common foe. Android 16 deserves a shout out for being there long enough to win the tournament and save the multiverse.

27. Naruto vs. Pain ‘Naruto shippuden’

Although I am not the biggest Naruto snob, I can appreciate how inspiring the main character is. After witnessing this chaotic battle in the Naruto Shippuden 2 game I was inspired to take a look at the scenes that lead up to the encounter. Naruto makes the most memorable entrance to the demolished “Hidden Leaf Village”, and engages in a fierce fight with Pain, a cold-hearted and formidable opponent. The clash ensues with vicious hand-to-hand battles, Naruto summoning the “Animal Path,” Naruto’s “Sage Mode,” as well as one of the most powerful versions of the “Rasenshuriken”. This fight is so devastating that it makes me happy to watch again. – Elton Jones

28. Deku vs. Todoroki ‘My Hero Academia’

What good is an action anime without a tournament? My Hero Academia was a surprisingly successful route that saw a group of young heroes-in-training test their skills in crazy 1v1 battles. The U.A.’s most memorable fight was between Deku and Todoroki. The fight between Deku and Todoroki was the highlight of Sports Festival’s Fighting Tournament. It was fascinating to see their backstories and how they fought for their goals.

Deku used “One for All” as a means to smash the massive ice cycles that were thrown at his face, while Todoroki took his “Half Cold Half-Hot” powers to the extreme in an attempt to knock Deku off his feet. I was stunned by the stalemate that ended in the final minutes. Even though Cementoss put up barriers to stop the clash of Deku & Todoroki, the stadium still received a lot of the force they delivered. This was a great way to end the game in a tie.
