Karina Braun is an Eldian woman who lives at the Revelio camp, Mahr.
APPEARANCE Karina Braun

Karina is middle-aged with blond, square-cut hair. She has golden eyes, just like her son.
Karina typically wears a long skirt and a blouse. She wears a scarf and long coat outdoors.
PURE TITAN
She retains most of her human characteristics in her pure titan form. Her face seems bigger than her other features.
PERSONALITY Karina Braun
Karina is a kind, gentle woman who loves her family. She cares deeply about her son, supports him when he dreams of becoming a warrior, and congratulates him whenever he achieves a project. Gaby, her niece, does the same.
She seems to harbor a hatred for the Paradise Eldians, whom she actually views as monsters (she literally takes Reiner’s description of his former friends on this island).
She has never had any other relationships since her affair with Reiner’s father. She seems to be in love with her ex-boyfriend, even though Mahr’s words might suggest she is retaliating for Reiner’s abandonment.
Chapter 134 She describes herself as unworthy and accuses herself of using her son to exact revenge. This sentence can be read for Reiner’s father as well as for the islanders.
PERSONAL STUDY
Before Reiner was born, Karina lived in a barracks just outside of the Eldian camp. She met Mahr there, with whom she developed a close relationship that led to her child. In order to protect her, the Mahr cut all ties with her. Reiner was then raised by her alone in the Eldian camp. Reiner was just a year old when she shared the story about his conception with him. Unwittingly, she convinced him that if he became an army soldier, they could live together.
Reiner was accepted to the Warrior Unit, and assigned to his first task. She bid him goodbye before he headed for Paradise Island.

After the Battle of Slava Fortress she received Reiner Braun, her son, and Gaby Braun, his niece. She listened to Gaby’s story at a family meal and asked Reiner if Gaby could get her titan back. Karina witnessed the feats of her family’s young members and the latter confirmed it. She wished to see the Paradise Eldians eradicated. Gaby promised to protect Gaby from them. With dismay, she listened to her son’s tale about the islanders. Gaby was shocked to learn that her son had told Gaby about the islanders. They were evil monsters who are good at destroying the planet. It was their responsibility to punish them and make amends.

Karina was among the Eldians that tried to warn Eren’s Mahrs.

She was present at the Mahrs’ attack on Eren’s army. She realized she had used her son to exact revenge during Muller’s speech. She looked at the advancing giants after the attack failed. Mr. Leonhart tried comforting her by telling her that her children were safe in Paradise, and would not die before them. She witnessed a seaplane arriving and saw Reiner’s titan emerge.
After Sieg’s death Karina prayed to her son.
She witnessed the end of progress in the Great Earthwork after Sieg’s death.
Karina fell after Armin Arlelt became a Colossal Titan. Falco Gleis, Gaby’s father, landed right next to Karina and Gaby and they welcomed their child. Annie Leonhart was told by her mother where to find her father. Gaby and she discovered Reiner had survived. Gaby also found out that Reiner was healthy. Reiner eventually became a pure titan, and attacked her son to save the centipede.
After Eren’s demise and the destruction by the Earth Demon, she returned as a human and found her son free from Ymir’s curse. He thanked her for making him a warrior.
