Kill la Kill was the first television series and major production of animation studio Trigger. It was created in 2011 by Masahiko Otsuka (ex-Gainax employee) and Hiroyuki Imaishi (an animator). Kill la Kill appeared in Newtype magazine in February 2013. The series concept was created by Kazuki Nakashima, Hiroyuki Imaishi and Hiroyuki Nakashima. Nakashima is the screenwriter and Imaishi the director.

They have worked together before on the Gurren Lagann series. Shigeto Koyama was the art designer, Toyonori Yamada was the cameraman and Jun’ichi Uematsu was the editor. Sushio supervised the character design and animation direction.

Kill La Kill Storyline

Kill La Kill follows Ryuko Matoi, a high school student, as she seeks out her father’s killers. She carries half of her father’s scissor knife with her and her quest takes her to Honnouji Academy. This school is where the strict class structure and student council rule with an iron fist are enforced by special Goku Uniforms.

Ryuko is given an extremely powerful uniform. A sentient sailor outfit called Senketsu, thirsty for blood, forces Ryuko to wear it. In exchange, Ryuko receives extraordinary powers. Ryuko uses her powers to defeat Satsuki Kiryuin (the president of the student council), who wears a Junketsu uniform.

Kill La Kill Season 2 Release date

The second season, which has been completed seven years ago, seems unlikely and unneeded. Season 1 ended with the heroes defeated and all the Life Fibers used to power the series’ combat scenes destroyed.

An OVA epilogue is available only on Blu-ray and DVD for Kill La Kill fans who want additional Kill La Kill content. In Episode 7, Space Patrol Luluco visited the Kill La Kill world. It’s possible that Kill La Kill characters could appear in an entirely different anime, as all Studio Trigger anime share a universe.
