Lycoris Recoil Season 1 Story

The general plot is all about secret organizations, spies, and assassins. It explores the lives of young assassins who are working undercover and living a normal life concurrently.

The plot follows a secret group called ‘Direct Assault’ (DA), which consists of only female spies and assassins. They must eliminate terrorists and criminals that endanger the peaceful city of Tokyo. These ladies are called ‘Lycoris’. And one of the Lycoris named ‘Takina Inoue’ gets sanctioned to work under an elite Lycoris named ‘Chisato Nishikagi’. The branch of the DA that Chisato works in is situated in downtown Tokyo, in a place posing as a café called ‘LycoReco’. The Lycoris agents pose as regular café employees while taking on missions secretly.

Takina and Chisato don’t get along very well as their methods to deal with enemies differ significantly. Chisato prefers to avoid using lethal means, which doesn’t sit well with Takina. Due to this, Takina initially has a hard time working in the new branch. Besides these two, three other ladies are working alongside them in the café. They are Mizuki, Mika, and Kurumi. Everyone on the café staff is working for the DA, apart from Kurumi. Kurumi is being given security (she faked her demise) by the DA agents in exchange for Kurumi’s assistance with hacking and so forth.

Lycoris Recoil Earlier Episode 5 Recap

The previous episode saw a light start, however, as it progressed it became surprising. It was revealed that Chisato had an artificial heart and was in the Alan Institute when she was a child. Furthermore, Yoshi tries to make Chisato take someone’s life to unleash Chisato’s killing genius. Also, a new character, a male with green hair is introduced; he appears violent and for now it’s a mystery. However, it is being speculated by some fans that this new character may become the antagonist of this series. Now, whether the speculation is true or not, we hope to find out in the next episode.

Chisato Nishikigi: Voiced By Chika Anzai

She is an elite Lycoris; that is, she is considered one of the strongest DA agents. She is free-spirited and doesn’t use lethal weapons against the targets, unlike many other DA agents.

Takina Inoue: Voiced By Shion Wakayama

A DA agent herself, she gets sanctioned by her superiors to work under Chisato. This happens due to disobedience from Takina’s side. While working at the new branch under Chisato, Takina has a hard time initially as she doesn’t get along well with Chisato and her methods.
