Mismatched Season 2. Mismatched is a 2020 Indian Hindi-language coming-of-age romantic drama internet series on Netflix, based on Sandhya Menon’s 2017 novel When Dimple Met Rishi. It was adapted by Gazal Dhaliwal and directed by Akarsh Khurana and Nipun Dharmadhikari. It’s produced by Ronnie Screwvala’s RSVP Films.

Starring Prajakta Koli, Rohit Saraf, Rannvijay Singha and Vidya Malvade in prominent roles, the series is about Rishi, a die-hard romantic who believes in traditional methods of dating, who falls for Dimple, a gamer, and ultimately wants to marry her.

Mismatched Plot

Mismatched is a rom-com based on Sandhya Menon’s best-selling book ‘When Dimple Met Rishi’. Dimple Ahuja (Prajakta Koli) wants to be a tech wizard and Rishi Singh Shekhawat (Rohit Saraf) is a young man who believes in the traditional way of dating: meeting in person, being drunk on love, and has come to Aravalli Institute to find his ‘Future Wife’. Dimple is driven and Rishi’s bewitched, and wants to tie the knot with her.

Season 1 Ending Explained

Netflix’s Mismatched has received plenty of love ever since it launched. The chemistry of a hopeless romantic, Rishi, and a tech geek, Dimple, has left the viewers curious for the second season. Although the cultural implications, peer pressure, and stereotypes give the show a touch of reality, it’s the hectic ending that puzzled the viewers.

How did it end for other Mismatched characters?

Anmol is aggravated after losing The League of Legends Championship to Dimple. Harsh turns into a little diplomatic but is caught off guard when Dimple kisses him in the end. Celina knows where she went wrong but it looks like she still needs her time to think. After Celina publicly embarrassed Namrata concerning her sexuality, Namrata leaves the college and breaks her friendship with Rishi.

And, last, but not least, Professor Sid and Zeenat both feel disheartened for Rishi and Dimple but it looks like they may have something special between themselves which may take shape in the new season. Well, it’s safe to say there’s a lot to look forward to in the next chapter of Mismatched after this ‘not-so-satisfying’ climax.

What’s in the box for Rishi and Dimple?

On this rom-com, Dimple starts to reciprocate Rishi’s feelings by the end of the fifth episode but in the last (sixth) episode, the equation between the two leads results in a huge gap of misunderstandings and improper judgments leading to a big, ugly battle. Dimple was working hard to develop an app but she is devastated when her code gets stolen by another app pirate. She blames Rishi for this blunder and assumes the information was leaked by him. She stands her ground as Rishi was the only person she shared the information with.

Alternatively, Rishi is anguished as his best friend’s life is seemingly ruined because of Dimple. He trusted Dimple with the secret of Namrata’s sexual orientation, but the secret is out and Namrata has to face the social stigma of not fitting in society. This, again, was a misunderstanding because it’s not Dimple who let the secret out, it was Celina.

The ending was uncomfortable for the show’s lovers as a messed-up Dimple kissed Harsh, making it even messier. And Rishi was seen leaving the college without bidding a final goodbye to the woman for whom he joined the course in the first place. This troubled, ‘harsh’ ending of their young romance could be a hope for new beginnings for the leads in the next chapter.
