Nazo no Kanojo X, the Japanese title of the series, is a romantic anime that has a distinct relationship. Due to its unique plot, there’s a petition to produce Mysterious Girlfriend X Season 2.

It is inspired by the manga of the same title which was illustrated and written by Riichi Ueshiba. The creator first created the manga as a single chapter, which was published by Monthly Afternoon magazine in 2004 before it was serialized in the same magazine two years later.

Hoods Entertainment (Drifters) produced the adaptation of the show in 2012. The team was excellent. Its director was Ayumu Watanabe. He is the director who produced After the Rain and Komi Can’t Communicate. The art director was Shigemi Ikeda, who was an Emmy-nominated art director for his involvement in Afro Samurai: Resurrection.

The initial season is listed as having 13 episodes. Since the final episode was aired there’s been no information on Mysterious Girlfriend X Season 2. Is it really beyond reach? We’ve got all the information we can about it.

Are there plans for Mysterious Girlfriend Season 2?

Let’s face it: the likelihood of Mysterious Girlfriend Season 2 is extremely small. We’ll tell you the reason.

The first thing you should look over is the sources. Riichi Ueshiba concluded the series with 12 volumes and the final volume was released in 2014. It’s not a great indicator, especially considering that the first season was concluded nine years ago.

The other thing to be considered is the studio that made the adaptation of the anime, Hoods Entertainment. It is not in the business of producing a show’s second season when we examine its portfolio. There are two shows that have sequels from Hoods Entertainment, Seikon no Qwaser as well as 3D Kanojo: Real Girl.

Then there is the matter of Drifters, another anime production from the studio. Following the announcement of its sequel in the year 2016, Hoods Entertainment has not kept its word.

We’ll move on to the positive news. There’s nothing major, however it may be our hope for Mysterious Girlfriend X Season 2. Although the manga has ended, there’s plenty of material to be included should Hoods Entertainment want to pick the series up again. The nine-year gap is far too long for an anime sequel and the ending of the manga wouldn’t ease that. Mysterious Girlfriend Plot

The story centers on the special bond that exists between Akira Tsubaki, an ordinary high school student, along with Mikoto Urabe, a transfer student who is sitting right next to him. Urabe is considered to be a weirdo. She began laughing out loudly for no reason in middle school on her first day at school. She is not a fan of being around other students and loves to lie down at her desk.

A few days later, Tsubaki notices Urabe lying in bed and drooling at her desk. After returning to his home, Tsubaki impulsively tastes the drool and experiences a fever several days later. It is then, in a surprising way, that Urabe comes to his house and confirms that Tsubaki had indeed tasted her drool the day before. She claims that he developed an illness due to love sickness and an addiction to her drool.

This is how they began their odd relationship.
