The completion of Naruto’s extensive, hundreds-episode run is among the most difficult tasks an anime fan can take on. While viewers should watch the whole thing in order to understand what’s happening and ignore filler arcs, they might want to be more selective with rewatching.
It can help to know the most important storylines in order to choose the best sections. Everybody has their favorite storyline, but there are some stories that contain some of the greatest fights and most emotional moments in Naruto and Naruto Shippuden.
The Fated Battle Between Brothers Arc
Even the most experienced anime fan will be moved by The Fated Battle. It’s terrible how this story arc culminates in the decisive fight between Sasuke and Itachi. Sasuke, his older brother, has always sought revenge and now it appears he is getting some of that, if not all. Itachi is still alive, even though Sasuke killed him.
The terrible secret Itachi kept from him makes the victory hollow. Itachi wasn’t interested in executing the entire Uchiha family. Danzo, a government official, gave Itachi every opportunity. If Root did the deed alone, he could spare his adored younger brother’s life in addition to his own and not have to kill the entire clan.
The Tale Of Jiraiya the Gallant
The Tale of Jiraiya The Gallant is a memorable series plotline. It also has a great name. Prior to this character arc, Jiraiya was a little underdeveloped. He was a pervert, which was one of his distinguishing traits.
It is a divisive trait some people find endearing, while others find it annoying. This arc sees him explore his past and build his mentorship with Naruto. He becomes a charming, mature character. He was a parent to three orphans for months and taught them how to survive in danger before returning to Konoha.
The Akatsuki Suppression Mission
The Akatsuki Suppression mission arc focuses on Hidan and Kakuzu’s fight to get rid of Akatsuki members. Asuma dies as Team 10 tries to get rid of them. Even though the episode’s spoiler-filled title, “Asuma Dies,” lessens how stunning this might otherwise be,
It still has a dramatic ending. Following this, Team 10 fights to get revenge as Asuma’s loved ones mourn his demise. Shikamaru devised a plan that would allow the three ninja to track down Hidan and then execute him. It’s one of the most healing scenes in the whole series.
The Pain Invasion Arc (Naruto Shippuden Canon Arcs)
The Pain Invasion arc of Naruto Shippuden has some of the show’s most remarkable episodes. Yet it also has some of the most important scenes in the show’s illustrious past. Sometimes animation can be a bit shaky. In this arc, Pain and his goons assault Konoha, the tragic truth of Kakashi’s father’s suicide is revealed,
Hinata declares her love and defends Naruto. This tale is very focused on the main character. Naruto is able to understand Pain’s motivations despite all the devastation he has done and feels pity for him. The hero believes that Pain is responsible for his actions. It has been hailed as one of the most satisfying and emotional plots, since the character that was once rejected is now a hero.
Sasuke Recovery Mission
One of Naruto’s goals throughout the whole series has been his desire to save Sasuke Uchiha from himself. This motivation is revealed for the first time in the Sasuke Recovery Mission storyline. Sasuke was an enemy but also a friend to Naruto before he left Konoha. Sasuke agrees that he will train with Orochimaru for this tale arc, understanding that the latter will kill him.
Then he will implant his consciousness into it. Naruto and the other ninja try their best, but they can’t get Sasuke back into the village. This misstep ruins the audience’s emotions while also demonstrating that heroes don’t always triumph in this drama.

The Land Of Waves Arc (Naruto Shippuden Canon Arcs)
In the Land of Waves arc, we learn about Team 7’s first significant assignment. The workers ask them to join him in his bridge-building mission. They soon discover that there’s more to the job than they expected. The newbie ninjas are caught up in a battle between a mob boss and other people who want to overthrow him. Instead of fighting them for being naturally evil,
Because Zabuza, Haku and Team 7 are on opposite sides of a conflict, Team 7 must comply. This arc shows how political Naruto would end up becoming, which is very instructive for viewers. Sometimes it’s difficult to tell who is right and who is wrong in the show.
The Birth Of The Ten-Tails’ Jinchuriki Arc
The Birth of the Ten-Tails’ Jinchuriki storyline features the bloodiest conflict of the Fourth Shinobi World War. The battle scene is messy and chaotic. Gai squares up against Madara in one of the series’ most surprisingly brilliant confrontations, Obito is defeated, and Naruto and Sasuke combine their tremendous skills to unleash a deadly onslaught.
The heroes don’t have much hope of winning the battle against Madara, who unleashes the Infinite Tsukuyomi. It brings up some the most violent conflicts Naruto ever witnessed.
Kakashi Gaiden (Naruto Shippuden Canon Arcs)
The Kakashi Gaiden arc will reveal what Kakashi meant by warning Sasuke that all his loved ones had already died. In this plotline, Kakashi’s teammate Obito gets pinned beneath a boulder
Kakashi gives him his sharingan eyes, in the hope that he will soon be gone. Madara, Obito’s ancestor, uses the opportunity to attempt and recruit Obito in his cause of eradicating and restarting humanity before finally saving and healing him.
Madara succeeds in making Obito look helpless as Kakashi murders Rin, his ex-friend and first love.
