Overlord Season 4 Episode 6 Review- The Council Shall Decide Your Fate

Overlord’s worldbuilding has been its greatest aspect. It is a beautiful feat of art, even though it is so high-quality. Even the most minor characters are given a lot of weight, which makes them appear as real as possible.

Every line of dialogue and every major decision have been carefully considered and adapted to reflect the behavior of someone in this position. This show has a unique, yet real-life feel. There are many nuanced decisions.

The entire presentation of the Dwarves and their Kingdom has been a big hit. It not only built their entire tribe with one member revealed before, but it also allowed us to empathize and learn all about their cause in a very short time. This is the definition of good writing. The dwarves can be understood by most people, so they make for very relatable characters.

Some of this could be explained by our prior understanding of the dwarven culture from other media, but Overlord’s unique approach hits the mark perfectly. It introduced many characters from that tribe, and each one told us about them in just one line.

Gondo, however, remains the amazing character he was. The show’s best motivation is still Gondo’s mission to save the only art form his people are skilled at.

Because of the senseless slaughter they were fighting every day, it was easy to draw sympathy for them. Ainz’s assistance was welcomed in the dwarven country. Their entire culture was at risk. This doesn’t tell us much about the attackers, but it does reveal that they seem mindless killing machines. The show did what it was supposed to do.
