Shine On! Bakumatsu Bad Boys! Plot

Well, those who are new are probably curious about what exactly this show is all about. Don’t fret, folks, I’ve got your back. I’ll provide a brief summary of the program.

It’s the Samurai regime in Japan in which the Shinsengumi police force had almost been destroyed by an unknown enemy. There is only one survivor after the slaughter of the Shinsengumi police department. The new members of the Shinsengumi police force have been chosen and comprise seven convicts. So begins a secret replacement plan to ensure that law and order are upheld in Tokyo.

The episode opens with a girl expressing her gratitude to Ichibanoshi following what transpired in the initial episode. Then, Akira asks Ichibanoshi about the sword, and Ichibanoshi responds that he saw the sword glowing and felt a power surge in his body. To this, Todo says that it may be possible that Commander Kondo Isami was able to lend his power to Ichibanoshi. Todo recounts an incident that took place on the 18th of August, which was the day that the government changed.

We then go to the past in a flashback. Todo at night witnesses everyone entering the palace in order to kill the commander. However, the commander quickly kills all. The commander is able to attack Todo, Todo takes a blow to his face, but then reverts to throwing a knife into his face, thus taking his life. \

When Kondo Isami’s death, his soul was split into four different swords, lying upon the floor. Also, we see the flashback of Sakuya who as a youngster saw his father abuse his mother. This is the reason Sakuya is so serious constantly. The Shinsengumi is assigned their first assignment, which is to assist Sakuma Shozan, a participant in the Matsushiro Domain. The group embarks on the escort of Sakuma Shozan. Shozan and Gyataro have a great relationship and are able to communicate well; Shozan even gives his glasses to Gyataro.

A group of thugs suddenly attacks the Shinsengumi. Shinsengumi takes on the thugs and takes out the thugs. They leave an unreadable sign. As they read the sign, Sakuya is able to see someone who is watching the group from a distance.

The person disappears once Sakuya turns her attention to him. Shozan is able to recall that Sakuya was an assassin who had once attempted to take him down. Ichibanoshi soothes him and they continue on their way until they finally arrive at the Kobe Port. In the evening, Akira talks to Ichibanoshi who is training and discovers that he is angry with himself over the deaths of his parents. As everyone is asleep, Sakuya goes out and confronts Kawakami Gensai, who is his previous partner, and they fight. The episode concludes with Gensai fleeing and telling Sakuya that he can’t escape.
