In May 2021, the official site for the show revealed that season 1 would debut on January 20, 2022 (via ComingSoon.net). While there’s no specific time frame for the premiere, it’s a common thing for anime, and there’s no need to be concerned. ConNECT Animation Studio is expected to release more details as they get closer to 2022.
The story began as a single-issue in Manga Time Kirara Forward magazine, “Slow Loop” has definitely made a leap from its beginning in April of 2018. Who are the characters of Slow Loop season 2?
“Slow Loop,” the movie’s story “Slow Loop” focuses on an innocent girl named Hiyori whose father’s passing encouraged her to enjoy fly fishing. To be closer to him and take an escape from her normal daily routine, Hiyori goes to the ocean to catch fish. She meets a teenager named Koharu there, and the two become friends while they cook, fish, and chill. Much to the delight of both, the two discover they’re actually stepsisters. While Hiyori’s adventure to the sea was initially a way to keep from meeting their new families, it appears that being siblings with Koharu is the way to go.
Hiyori is the quieter among the girls, sporting dark blue, short hair, and Koharu is the more bubbly. Koharu is a brunette with long hair that is always smiling. The families of the two girls meet after they both suffer tragedy and seek to come back and create their own new lives.
The parents of the two girls also play a major role within the plot, as does the classmate Koi Yoshinagi, Hiyori’s best friend since kindergarten, whose father is also involved in fly fishing. There’s no information yet about any voice actors who will be involved in the story, however Noriaki Akitaya will direct, Yuka Yamada is composing, while Shoko Takimoto is the one in charge of the character design.

What exactly is Slow Loop about?
The style that is set in “Slow Loop” is similar to the relaxed tone of other slice-of-life anime like “Laid-Back Camp.” In the coming series, both girls grieve the loss of their family members as Hiyori’s father passed away from cancer as a child, and Koharu lost her brother and mother in a crash. The loss of Hiyori’s mother leads her and Koharu’s father to marry one another and bring the two girls closer.
Koharu is slightly older than Hiyori, however, they enjoy a lot of similar things and easily connect with one another and become quickly friends. While Hiyori has a habit of always living near the sea, it is completely new to Koharu who has just relocated to the area. And she is awestruck by the area. When the sisters go on a trip to fish, Koharu is often the one who cooks the fish they catch since she’s very skilled in the art of cooking.
Along with Hiyori’s best friend Koi, the girls also have the opportunity to meet and get acquainted with another girl known as Ichika Fukumoto, as well as her younger sister Futuba. Ichika frequently joins fishing trips with the girls and they soon become close. “Slow Loop” focuses on the evolution of these crucial friendships throughout Hiyori and Koharu’s life as they deal with the unfamiliar world of their newly-joined family.
