solo Leveling Ending

The manhwa/webtoon Solo Leveling comes to the end of its six years with Chapter 179 that was launched on 30th December 2021 and concluded with this chapter.

The chapter concludes with a note from the creator of the webtoon Jang Sung Rak who thanked the readers as well as his fellow artists and the creator for their support and the incredible journey that was Solo Leveling on the webtoon.

Our protagonist, Sung Jin Woo, traveled from “World’s Weakest” to an S-rank monster of a Hunter and finally the OP King we’ve always believed that he would one day be. Although the majority of fans are satisfied with the way things were, a few people are thinking about how the next part of the story will go.

Solo Leveling Manhua Ending Explained: How Did Jin-Woo Beat the Monarchs?

A few chapters before, Jin-Woo decided to utilize his Cup of Reincarnation once more, to beat the Monarchs once and for all.

Of course, the readers have witnessed Jin-Woo the Shadow Monarch beat all sorts of foes, so repeating his battles with formidable opponents like Antares repeatedly is unnecessary. In the end, Jin-Woo has consistently leveled up to invincibility, and his wins were long ago a bit boring to us.

Chapter 178 promised an ultimate confrontation with Antares. However, there was a final confrontation, one we did not get to witness. It’s likely that the creator also believed that we didn’t have to. At the moment, an additional battle in which Jin-Woo could be involved would reduce the stakes, not raise them.

Consuming media that is dominated by many characters is a type of escapism, wish-fulfillment, or just a bit of fun that isn’t demanding, which is fine. The absence or lack of action during the last chapter of the manhua could suggest that Jin-Woo’s and humanity’s victory is much more significant than how it was won.

Solo Leveling Manhua Ending Explained: Why Did Jin-Woo Return as a Teenager?

Solo Leveling Manhua Ending Explained: Why Did Jin-Woo Return as a Teenager?

Jin-Woo triumphs after two years in his realm, whereas Jin-Woo, the Shadow Monarch himself, spent much more time in another. The ruler who greets Jin-Woo is shocked by his young appearance and Jin-Woo jokes that he did not wish to be a snob by revealing his beard.

Again, the last chapter doesn’t go into detail about Jin-Woo’s childhood after his return. However, Jin-Woo’s Cup of Reincarnation is meant to return people at a later date, so there are a lot of implications to the creator’s choice.

The first thing to note is that Jin-Woo did a great deed by stepping into a different dimension to carry the weight of the world on his own. Returning to the way he used to be may be a little simple. The hero performed admirably in the face of the biggest problem, but a degree of sacrifice had to be made.

The fact that he is young, coupled with the fact that he is awe-inspiringly powerful, makes Jin-Woo a threat for the Rulers, and very uncertain. If he grows and develops, he may be too much for the Rulers. Therefore, they suggest that he be transferred to a world that is more prepared for someone similar to him.

However, there aren’t just negatives regarding Jin-Woo’s age and appearance. Although some issues are normal, he’s extremely active, and youthfulness is a sign of the promise of new beginnings and a sense of optimism. In addition, Jin-Woo’s brain is an invincible Shadow Monarch, thus he isn’t willing to follow the wishes of the Rulers. There are still people whom he loves and is determined to be with them no matter how he appears.

Solo Leveling Manhua Ending Explained: What About the Other Characters?

For Jin-Woo’s sake, Jin-Woo isn’t the only one who has aged. The final episode shows Choi Jong-In working as an office worker while Baek Yoon-Ho is an officer. Yoo Jin-Ho attends school, and his parents and sister live normal happy lives. Jin-Woo also meets an older version of Cha Hae-In. This suggests that their relationship will develop with the change in timeline too.

There may not be something as normal as this for someone like Jin-Woo, but it seems like there is some happiness even if he lives in the company of those whom he loves. In the meantime, fans are left to hope that the beloved fantasy series is going to be made into an animated series soon.
