The Walking Dead: Dead City: Everything You Need To Know

The Walking Dead: Dead City: Everything You Need To Know

The Walking Dead: Dead City . If the real world is not quite to your liking, here’s some good news: A new “The Walking Dead” spin-off will be coming to AMC in 2023. It features two characters who are most likely to make each other’s lives miserable.

“The Walking Dead, Dead City” was originally called “The Walking Dead Isle of the Dead”, as the series will be set in Manhattan. Why did the name change happen? Perhaps “Isle of the Dead” gave people images of zombies drinking pina Coladas and stumbling around Times Square. This series is a natural extension of the “Walking Dead”, as it occurs after the original series ends. It will hopefully tie up some loose ends for Negan (Jeffery Morgan) and Maggie (Lauren Cohan).

There is plenty of conflict between the characters, as Negan killed Maggie’s husband with an old baseball bat. I don’t think it will be a buddy comedy. The series will be six episodes long and follow the characters as they journey into post-apocalyptic Manhattan. This could be a very promising series if they do not make it too similar to the original series, but more like Escape from New York. There are eleven seasons of “The Walking Dead”, seven seasons of Fear the Walking Dead, and many other spin-offs in the pipeline: “Tales of the Walking Dead,” Rick and Michonne’s mini-series and possibly a series about Daryl, a fan favorite. This means that “Dead City” might (and should!) take some chances.

Casting-wise, Morgan and Cohan will both be reprising their roles. This is even though Morgan recently joined the expanding cast of Prime Video’s superhero comedy, “The Boys”. Although it is unlikely we will see any other cast members of “The Walking Dead,” since they have either passed away or moved on to their own shows, you shouldn’t dismiss the possibility of crossover. We might see Steven Yeun (who played Maggie’s husband Glenn) return in flashbacks. Yeun sightings are a sure way to get me back on board the “Walking Dead” train.

Eli Jorne, “The Walking Dead,” writer and executive producer will executive produce and serve as showrunner for “Dead City.” Scott M. Gimple, “The Walking Dead”, producer, writer and showrunner will join the board as chief content officer. He will oversee all spin-off development. Morgan and Cohan will also be executive producers.

We think The Walking Dead: Dead City is about the following.

This one is a bit more difficult because we don’t know much about the story except that Maggie and Negan will be there. They won’t be able to trade in the Georgia forests for city streets unless they are stuck in Central Park somehow. Both Cohan and Morgan do a great job in their roles. However, their characters have not had much time to interact with each other since the premiere of season 7. Negan made Glenn’s handsome visage into gory mush using his bat, Lucille. Negan tried his best to redeem himself to Maggie in the final season of the original series as part of a redemption arc. But the man still has a lot to atone for. Although Maggie and Negan won’t be best friends and roast marshmallows on fires, their complex relationship will make for compelling television. Let’s hope Negan doesn’t indulge in more creepy cadaver copulating. One scene of zombie mask sex will suffice for the entire franchise.
