Le Gougne later withdrew the statement, and Gailhaguet and Le Gougne were both suspended. This unfortunate episode had a negative impact on the morale of both the Russian figure skating team of Elena Berezhnaya, and Anton Sikharulidze. They felt they had won gold fairly, but it also upset their Canadian competitors, Jamie Sale, and David Pelletier.

The Russian win on US soil after 9/11 rekindled Cold War memories, and the Canadians became an American home team for American media and audiences. The Canadians won a review due to their persistent demands for an investigation and fairness in judging. Both teams were awarded the gold medal. 

It is a moving story with beautiful images of figure skating and two dance pairs from across continents coming together after heartbreaks and accidents. Director Lizzie Kempton tells it with great emotion. The footage and hostilities of the time lead to an evocative Olympic in 2002. It is as far away as Pierre de Coubertin’s motto can be. The story of ‘Gold War’ is set against the spirit and purpose of the Games. However, there are many other interesting and varied episodes to the series.

 All episodes, as the title ‘Bad Sport” suggests, question the organization and administration of a sport. They either show the arrogance of top athletes or the greed that drives modern sport and its results. Episodes titled “Footballgate” and “Horse Hitman” highlight secondary players in football and horse racing. Both are patronized by the wealthy and powerful. The stories of Luciano Moggi, Tommy Burns and Tommy Burns reveal the root causes of the problems in both sports.

This allows Moggi to defend himself at trial and prevents any further damage to club Juventus or its powerful owners. The “Horse Hitman” is the painful and disturbing story of Tommy Burns, a horse groom who assists the wealthy and famous to get rid of their horses through an insurance scam. Miles Blayden Ryall and Georgina Cameronalleri reveal the worst outcome possible for a sport that is built around the relationship between horse and rider.

 Rich men and women are prone to hubris and cynicism, and will kill their horses in order to claim insurance money that they don’t need. It is almost dystopian in its cruelty. Blayden-Ryall’s and Cammalleri’s extreme Need for Weed. Randy Lanier, Indy500’s top 10 racing car driver is a remarkable story. Lanier’s passion is driven by selling marijuana, his main passion. It’s a difficult story to grasp. Lanier, a young boy from Virginia, becomes a casual weed dealer and joins the hippie community in Miami. 

He also dreams of driving fast cars. Randy Lanier becomes addicted when the two of them combine. This episode is a fun American tale told in Hollywood fashion. You will find good music, fast cars and crazy business ideas. It’s a deadly combination. Luke Sewell’s Hoop Schemes tells the story of a young basketball player whose bright future was ruined by poverty and racism. Arizona State University had a highly skilled basketball team in 1994.

Stevin “Hedake”, Smith was an ambitious, prodigious talent and was a shoe-in for the NBA. This story is about how he became involved in the point shaving scandal that destroyed his career and the reputation of the team. 

This story is difficult to interpret as a moral tale, especially when Smith’s partner in crime, “Ice” Issac Burton, says that he didn’t make enough money playing basketball while college coaches and the university were making money. “Ice” Burton used to wander around the university begging for food many times. Unfortunately, we are too accustomed to using desperation as a motivator for crime.
