Beyond the Edge Season 1 Preview

Beyond the Edge season 1’s premiere episode made it clear that the celebrity competition was going to be a major challenge. The contestants were divided into two teams during the first challenge: the Red Team, led by Jodie Sweeten, and the Blue Team, led by Paulina Porizkova. The ease with which they were able to get the items from their crate from A to B was evident right at the start of the jungle obstacle course. Sweeten was hurt in the course of this jungle obstacle course.
Eboni K. Williams, a kayaker and paddler, quickly gained the advantage for the Blue Team once they were in the water. The Blue Team made it back to dry land and the only obstacle to their victory was the choice of either a direct route to solve their puzzle or a slower route that would give them a hint on how to put the puzzle together.

The team chose to follow the direct route despite team leader Porizkova wanting to give the clue. This decision cost them both the challenge and the money they needed to support their charities.
Craig Morgan, Lauren Alaina, and Colton Underwood start a conversation about their status as the top three contestants. Today’s challenge will determine the fate of those at the bottom. Only the top two contestants will be able to compete for the grand prize. Jodie Sweeten cannot afford to lose another competition.
Before the challenge began, celebrities were divided into two teams. Alaina leads the team with Ray Lewis, Mike Singletary, and Eboni K. Williams. Sweeten leads the other team with Morgan, Underwood, and Paulina Porizkova. Sweeten can coach her team to a large advantage over Alaina’s group once the competition starts. Alaina slips and injures her foot, making things even worse for Alaina’s team. Sweeten wins the crucial victory and is no longer at the bottom on the leaderboard.

It was a moment that no one could have foreseen even one week ago. The contestant with the highest amount of money wins and is the first to ring the bell. Alaina fell and tore ligaments in her foot. The doctor advised her to go home. Alaina was eventually forced to ring that bell.
It comes down to Ray Lewis and Colton Underwood competing in the series finale. Both finished second and first in terms of winnings so far. They will compete for $100,000 and the $50,000 each teammate gets. Craig Morgan and Mike Singletary join them to deliver toys to the local Panamanian school.
After they have completed their volunteer work, the decisions are made. Lewis selects Morgan to be his teammate. Underwood will partner with Singletary. Team Underwood leads the competition at the beginning, but soon loses it to Lewis and Morgan who quickly gain ground at the balance beams. Lewis falls on a branch while Underwood and Lewis are running out of a bat cavern. He manages to get over the trauma and carry on the race.

Beyond the Edge Season 2 Plot

Despite the fact that it takes place in the jungle, Beyond The Edge producers made it clear this is not Survivor. CBS describes the program as:
“For two weeks, celebrities will test their resilience to endure torrential downpours and scorching heat while living in the jungle of Panama. Each celebrity will be judged and eliminated. Instead, they must rely on themselves, their physical abilities, and their courage to survive in the wild. Celebrities will raise money for charities for every day they survive and each time they conquer a difficult adventure challenge together. To signal their readiness to return home, a player can ring a bell if they reach their breaking point. The 14-day period will end with the top earners going head to head for one last adventure. This is to determine who can become the Beyond Edge champion, and bring home the most money to their charity.”
It could have been the plot of season 2.
