There will unfortunately not be a season 4 for the Close Enough series. Indeed, the series ended definitely on after its 3rd season as announced by J. G. Quintel via Twitter.
Yes that’s the new, our series will not have a season 4. However, there is a lot to say about the 3 previous season for those who don’t know Close Enough Yet.

Josh, Candice, and Emily live in an East L.A. duplex together with Josh’s best friend Alex (Jason Mantzoukas), and Bridgette (Kimiko Ginn). Yes, Alex and Bridgette have separated but still share the same bed. It is a mattress hidden in a closet. The adults are all in their 20s and 30s, and they are struggling to become responsible adults.
The first segment features Emily and Josh going to L.A.’s Fabric District to look for material to make Candace’s class quilt. Emily loves to bargain but Josh is more interested in buying hat-wearing birds and zoot suits. They also find a treasure trove of British urchins in 19th-century style who are eager to be adopted. They help to make the quilt but then the next day they become monstrous little adults. Josh and Emily are left with very little to do (and their quilt).
The second segment sees Emily escape their apartment chaos by going to open houses in the neighborhood. One open house she visits finds a father who has escaped his triplets, and a child star who is free from her fame. They pretend to be a family living in their house. But time and space warp causes Emily to find herself on a terrible sitcom. The house is now a soundstage located in the middle of the void, instead of in their immediate neighborhood. Josh arrives to rescue Emily (riding the 6-person family bicycle he bought), but he also gets trapped.

There are many funny moments in these segments. However, most of them deal with the interpersonal relationships among everyone in the duplex, particularly Bridgette and Alex. The first segment features Emily and Josh asking them to care for Candace while they visit the fabric district. The two of them instantly lose Candance and they go to Pearle, the landlord of the building, with her weird son Randy (Danielle Brooks). These scenes were more effective than those in the fabric district, even though they are absurder (Street Urchins). Giant rats? Emily and Josh have sex in an alley. A racist parakeet getting decapitated? It all happened.
The second segment’s surrealism, although it was more subtle and well-executed, was a little bit more convincing. Emily wants to escape her chaotic world, so she is sucked into a sitcom. It seems that her two “co-stars”, however, never want to leave. The second segment was particularly funny to see the dad of triplets, a dark-haired man, become a bright-colored, striped guy in the confines a sitcom. It was strange. Sure. You should expect the unexpected with Quintel. Once you have this expectation, you can just relax and enjoy.
