It is far from over for the Miyagi-verse and the showrunners aren’t keeping quiet.

Rivalries settled in the aftermath, with the kids left to make their own ties. But, as John Kreese (Martin Kove) finds his way out of jail with a list of scores to settle, it is only a matter of time before another villain threatens the peace.

When does season 6 of Cobra Kai come out?
Patience, san. Although it appears Cobra Kai season 6 is definitely on the radar, there may be quite a wait before we get an official release date. Jon replied to a fan on Twitter who asked when they’d start filming and writing. The Cobra Kai creator tweeted, “Season 6 has not yet been written. Will get on that after filming Obliterated, but numerous kickass ideas already percolating! #CobraKai.”
What Is The Storyline Of Cobra Kai Season 6?
For thirty years, Johnny Lawrence has been an unemployed handyman stricken by his squandered opportunities. Cobra Kai’s dojo is resurrected when Johnny rescues a boy who had been suffering from bullies. Consequently, Johnny finds himself rekindling his old competition with Daniel LaRousso, a successful businessman who, while being married, still lacks a sense of stability in his life since the demise of his mentor, Master Miyagi, who was also his instructor.
Amidst all of this animosity rising between the two sides, Miguel and his allies are being slowly corrupted by Cobra Kai’s brutal lifestyle. Robby (Johnny Miyagi’s alienated deviant son) is in the midst of this battle with Samantha (Daniel’s daughter) and finds himself under Daniel’s wing, flourishing in ways worthy of the master.
The initial suspicion around the news of a new installment in the Karate Kid franchise has been completely dispelled. It is clear that there’s a bit of a role reversal as we now see the majority of the story through the eyes of Karate Kid villain Johnny Lawrence, who seeks redemption by taking in a student in the type of Miguel Diaz, which in turn conjures up him to re-open the Cobra Kai dojo. We now see the story primarily through the eyes of Johnny Lawrence.
It is fascinating to watch the significant transformations that have taken place in two pupils, Miguel, who went from being bullied to an arrogant fighter, and Robby, who went from being a juvenile delinquent to a fighter with honor. Along the same lines as the first film, this one is about more than just martial arts; it is also about relationships and second chances. If you enjoyed the Karate Kid series, then there is no question that you need to start watching this series as soon as possible.
Cobra Kai season 6 : The plot
When and if the show returns, it is clear it isn’t going to be the same Cobra Kai we know and love… for starters, the rivalry isn’t there anymore between the two dojos.
In the season-five finale, Silver’s misdeeds finally caught up with him, and after being exposed for cheating on the All-Valley tournament, his merciless nature was finally revealed to his students, and they all ditched him.
But they’re still figuring out what to do now. Do they join Miyagi-Do/Eagle Fang (or whatever they decide to call themselves?) or do they give up karate for good?
Kenny, who had gone from a sweet-natured nerd to a cold-hearted bully under the teachings of Silver, is likely going to feel this the most.
Speaking about his heartbreak at being let down by Silver, actor Dallas told Digital Spy: “Kenny’s heartbroken. I mean, it was a gut-wrenching moment really, because his father figure [Silver] is his chief, the man that he looked up to, his mentor, kind of betrayed him in a way,” Dupree Young said.
“And for Kenny to watch that video and see the evidence, it was just very disheartening. So I think Kenny is in a tough headspace. He doesn’t really know where he desires to go at this point. But I can’t wait to see what happens with him.”
Elsewhere, we’re keeping all our fingers crossed for our new fave Chozen, after he drunk-dialled Kumiko back in Okinawa to reveal his true feelings for her (we’ve all been there, bud). Now recovering from what appeared to be near fatal accidents, this man deserves the biggest hug and the biggest break.
There are two main hanging threads this season – Kreese and his plans for revenge after breaking out of jail and going on the run, and the Sekai Taikai international championships.
Johnny and Daniel both screwed over Kreese while in jail by lying about getting him a lawyer, which seemingly will not sit pretty with him. But he is most certainly wanting his own revenge on Silver (which, paradoxically, he could have done if he’d just waited another couple of days). But he also clearly feels guilt over Tory and dragging her into his scheme, only to drop her when he felt like he was losing.
But the Sekai Taikai is one of the most prestigious karate championships in the world. If the group can stick together long enough, then they’ll share their teachings (and Mr Miyagi’s knowledge) with all the world.
“I know that the creators they want a good resolution like every good story,” Gianni Decenzo, who plays Demetri, told Digital Spy. “They don’t want to leave the fans hanging. So I think we will undoubtedly see some more Cobra Kai in the future.
“I mean, there’s a lot still to resolve – you got Miyagi-Do, Eagle Fang… They’re kind of working together but there’s still two separate groups and then of course jail appears to not be enough to keep Kreese away!”
Cobra Kai season 6 : Cast
There is no Daniel LaRusso without best frenemy Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka). Plan to welcome these other star characters back to the dojo, too:
- Yuji Okumoto as Chozen
- Courtney Henggeler as Amanda LaRusso
- Vanessa Rubio as Carmen
- Xolo Maridueña as Miguel Diaz
- Tanner Buchanan as Robby Keene
- Mary Mouser as Samantha LaRusso
- Jacob Bertrand as Hawk
- Peyton Record as Tory Nichols
- Gianni DeCenzo as Demetri
After last season’s cliffhanger, expect more The Karate Kid returnees like Kreese who broke out of jail a la faux demise. It might not be the end of the road for Silver either, contemplating his “no-lose” attitude. Before his takedown, Silver also secured Cobra Kai’s admission into the world karate tournament Sekai Taikai — the one that sensei Kim Da-eun (Alicia Hannah-Kim) promised her father to win. We would be shocked if she didn’t return to make good on her word.
