Preview of anime

The plot of isekai anime usually centers around someone dying in the modern world and being reincarnated into a new world filled with magic and fantasy. Dead Mount Death Play is the opposite. According to the official synopsis from Yen Press we start with the battle to the death between Calamity Crusher, the legendary hero, and the powerful necromancer known as the Corpse God. The Corpse God realized that luck was not on his side during the battle and decided to try one last strategy that could save him: reincarnation.
Instead of being born in the same world as his kinsman, the Corpse God is now living in the body a young Shinjuku boy! The Corpse God took over Polka Shinoyama’s body after he had been killed. As the wrong people start to become interested in his host’s life and the Corpse God’s search, the Corpse God is unable to find peace in modern times.

He is determined to make a new life in this new world and refuses to allow his friends or chosen people to be hurt by any means. The ancient being will do everything in his power to preserve peace, but how long?
The legendary hero faces the necromancer corpse god in a thrilling showdown. But, when the dust settles, it seems that something is not quite right. The final shot of the corpse god was a surprise — reincarnation magic. A boy named Polka Shinoyama feels…not quite himself. Who would have thought that the final battle between good and bad would be this dramatic?
Review of anime

It is very similar in structure to Durarara. The manga gradually builds up a cast of characters, switching between different perspectives. This will lead to more characters and new perspectives, stories, plotlines, and other details, which eventually will create an avalanche that will ultimately result in a conclusion.
No conclusion is in sight as of chapter 58.
In details:
6/10 story, 6/10 art, 5/10 character, 6/10 enjoyment, 6/10 overall.
If you are able to handle Durarara storytelling and constant point switching, the story is quite decent. However, the problem with the story is that it slows down as the number of characters and parallel stories becomes too large. It is still fascinating to see this unfold and grow in complexity. However, some events can take too many chapters due to the number of parallel storylines. This is a problem. This is a far cry from the countless number of generic isekai mangas that have appeared recently.
Art: 6/10.
Although the art is good and detailed, there are many dialogues with talking heads on white backgrounds. The manga art is very typical of modern manga, with no significant differences. When they are present, the necromantic moments stand out.

Character: 5/10.
No character development. Characters are slowly revealed. Each one starts with a “role” and the author then clashes them, showing the reader what happens. I have yet to see anyone change in the 58 chapters, and some characters are too sexy. They’re still good enough and not too clichéd. But don’t expect to see many real people with like-minded characters.
Enjoyment: 6/10. The story became more enjoyable as it gathered more characters. It was a bit slow at the beginning.
Overall: 6/10.
It’s worth checking out, especially for those who are tired of the endless stream (modern) isekai mangas.
What is the plot?

The legendary hero faces off against a necromancer god in a fantasy world. The necromancer god has an ace up his sleeve during the final moments of this epic showdown. He uses reincarnation magic. The hero defeats the necromancer god. Or so he thinks. A boy named Polka Shinoyama awakes in another world and feels different. The battle between evil and good has taken a dramatic twist in the ancient age.
The anime follows Polka Shinomiya’s journey to discover more about himself and his connection with evil. The Manga also introduces new enemies and allies. Many times, the story switches between perspectives of different characters. The question is, however, whether Polka is the hero of the story or the villain.
