Heels Season 1 ending Explained
Episode 8 of Heels opens the season 1 finale in The Past. Jack is taught lessons by his father and encouraged to lock down and wrestle. Jack’s father urges Ace to stop while he watches. This episode doesn’t resolve the issue. Instead, we jump back to last week’s episodes.
What’s the deal with Crystal and FWD?
A bottle is thrown into the ring during the FWD Show, narrowly missing Jack. Ace turns to Jack and the pair race into Jack’s car.
Jack tells Ace that he plans to make Bill a heel and Ace will shift to win the belt. It will pay off. We’ll see. Gully is the only problem. He’s being encouraged by Rooster, to get revenge on Jack at the fair.
Crystal leaves the DWL while everyone prepares for the big event. This is a big news for many, including a young lady who is disappointed that she will not be part of the main event. Crystal is offered the chance to serve as his valet, and get back on the “rungs” of success. Crystal isn’t sure she wants to follow this path and be just another Bunny B, considering Bill’s valets have a very illustrious past. She eventually gives in to her pride, and she accepts this change, and Ace and Jack also accept it.
Can Jack forgive Jack?
Jack returns home to confront his past while Jack is still at work. Staci calls Jack and asks him why he bought Kleenex. Jack claims that he did all this to prepare Ace to face the real world. He seems to be showing tough love for his brother, considering his family’s history of mean behavior. Jack says he is “trying” to be his brother’s keeper. Staci has been a great support for Jack, but Ace doesn’t.
Staci gives Jack an ultimatum. Either tell Ace the truth or you could lose both Staci & Thomas. After Ace has sorted things out, Staci and Jack can talk about their future and what it looks like next to the DWL situation. Staci is currently preparing for her rodeo, where she will sing the national anthem. Jack wishes Staci well and regrets that he couldn’t be there.
What happens during the state fair?
The state fair day begins. Jack delivers a passionate speech about family and putting together the best show of his life. This is it. This is the moment when the future of DWL is at stake.
Wild Bill goes into the toilet while the matches are underway and the crowd gets wild, and ends up taking pills that blur his vision and space him out. As Ace stands beside him, Bill’s music plays first, leaving Ace behind and Jack backstage. Jack is having trouble telling his brother the truth about Kleenex. This is not the first time Jack has struggled to do so. Bill takes the microphone, calls Ace and Jack out and for the moment all eyes are on Bill.
The pair manage to make it into the ring, and they join Bill. This is where the fight starts. The crowd begins to chant Ace’s name, as Jack and Bill beat Ace. It’s a natural turn that sees the match unfold exactly as Jack planned. Then Bill gets soiled and falls by the sidelines. Jack instead is forced to join Ace on the ladder.
Unbeknownst Jack and Ace, Gully appears in the crowd and begins a “Jack!” chant. He is trying to get Ace off his game. They begin to throw Kleenex at Ace and Jack, holding tissues in their hands. Ace is furious when Jack admits the truth at the top of the ladder. He throws a stiff right-hand, which knocks Jack to the ground below. Ace grabs the title but instead of taking it, he slips down and throws the ladder outside. He beat Jack down in the Ring – real.
Who will win the ladder match?
Crystal realizes that this could be her moment and enters the ring to distract Ace from his rampage. After using her hurricanrana against him, she suplexes Jack before being encouraged by her to grab the ladder as well as the belt.
This is a fantastic twist on the match, but it also raises questions about the future of DWL. After having made a mess of himself, Bill swallows his pride when Gully charges for the ring. Crystal is able to grab the belt by herself as he runs full-steam at his slimy owner.
Jack and Ace exchange glances as the crowd cheers for Crystal. Ace then skips the ring and leaves. The final shot of Crystal celebrating her win is taken by Ace.
