Mission: Impossible is Tom Cruise’s crown jewel over the past quarter-century. It’s not surprising that he’s now putting everything into what are rumored to be his final two entries.

Officially entitled Dead Reckoning – Part 1 at CinemaCon this year, the seventh installment in the long-running franchise has been hampered by a difficult production that has suffered several delays because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Moviemaking can be expensive. These hold-ups have inflated the budget to $290 million before marketing expenses. An eighth entry is in the works, which could potentially reach a comparable size.

Paramount is taking a risk with this double-feature; however, they don’t have any reason to doubt Cruise and Christopher McQuarrie, who have taken Mission: Impossible to new heights in recent years.

Mission: Impossible 7 Release Date

Mission: Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One will premiere in cinemas on Friday, 14 July 2023.

Mission: Impossible 7 & 8 were originally planned to be shot back-to-back, and launched in the summers of 2021 and 2022, respectively. However, that plan was thrown out the window by the coronavirus.

Tom Cruise deserves credit for keeping things on track. He reportedly set up a ” coronavirus free village” for cast and crew at an Oxford RAF site back in June 2020.

His bold action in the face of an unprecedented situation allowed Mission: Impossible 7 the opportunity to be the first Hollywood production to resume work after the COVID shutdown.

Shea Whigham, co-star, told RadioTimes.com that Tom Cruise is a great leader. There’s no set way to make a movie in a pandemic. He is an incredible leader. “

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Cruise’s hands-on approach has created friction between him and Paramount executives in recent months.

According to reports, the star objected to the studio’s plans to release Mission: Impossible 7 in just 45 days in cinemas, before dropping it for free on the fledgling streaming service Paramount+.

The dispute is still ongoing at the time this article was written. It’s not clear if the film will go on a full three-month theatrical run or if it will be released early in the home, as The Batman on HBO Max (in America).

Whigham said: “I’m there with Tom and [director] McQuarrie.” A three-month run is something I would love to see. McQuarrie showed me a bit of seven and it was amazing. These guys are cinephiles and know cinema well.

WHAT IS THE MISSION? IMPOSSIBLE 7 PLOT

So far, not much information has been revealed about Dead Reckoning’s plot. We do know that the plot follows Mission: Impossible: Rogue Nation’s events, released in 2015 and Mission: Impossible: Fallout, released 2018 respectively.

Interviews with Christopher McQuarrie have revealed that Hunt and the other characters will get a deeper emotional adventure. Based on the trailer and reports from Mission: Impossible 7’s production we also know that the movie was shot in Italy, England, Norway, and the Middle East.

WHO IS IN THE MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE 7 CAST

Mission: Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part 1 stars Tom Cruise, expert spy Ethan Hunt, and includes characters from previous Mission: Impossible installments as well as franchise rookies such as:

• Hayley Atwell ( Agent Carter), as Grace
• Rebecca Ferguson ( the Greatest Showman), as Ilsa Faust
• Vanessa Kirby ( The Crown), as White Widow
• Simon Pegg ( Shaun of the Dead), as Benji Dunn
• Ving Rhames ( Pulp Fiction), as Luther Stickell
• Henry Czerny ( Mission: Impossible), as Eugene Kittridge
• Frederick Schmidt (Angel Has Fallen) as Zola Mitsopolis
• Yennis Cheung (Skyfall) as Dior
• Shea Whigham ( Shelter) as Jasper Briggs

Additionally, Esai Morales is the film’s main villain. Rob Delaney and Indira Varma play these roles, while Greg Tarzan Davis and Pom Klementieff are cast in unspecified roles.

Mission: Impossible 7: What’s the plan?

We don’t have much information about the plot, but we do know that Tom Cruise will perform extreme stunts. He is presumably trying to surpass his Mission: Impossible – Fallout HALO jumps and helicopter maneuvers.

Cruise will ride a motorcycle from the edge of a cliff in M:I 7. This is Cruise’s one-off stunt. Empire said it was the most dangerous thing he has ever done.

He explained that if the wind was too strong it could blow him off the ramp. The helicopter was problematic for filming the stunt. I didn’t want my camera to go at high speed, hammer down the ramp and be hit by a stone.

Or if I left in a strange way, we didn’t know what would happen to the bike. After I left the ramp to pull the chute, I only had six seconds. I didn’t want to get caught in the bike. It’s not going well if I do.

It is possible that Mission: Impossible 7 or 8 will film back-to-back. This could lead to a cliffhanger ending similar to Avengers: Infinity War, which led to 2019’s Endgame.

Cruise’s costar Shea Whigham suggested that Jasper Briggs has a story arc that spans the two films. This sounds like it might have some surprises.

He told RadioTimes.com, “You’ll understand, over the course of seven and eight, why I’m trying to trace Ethan Hunt.” “It’s one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever had the opportunity to be a part of.”

Apart from those jaw-dropping scenes, it is possible that Solomon Lane (Sean Harris), the recurring villain, may return to be an antagonist.
