He said, “For season 5, it’s important to finish where you started.” “I believe that we can go back to the energy of season 1, and examine where all the characters were at their beginnings, and ensure we end them where they started. It was all about Bloom’s addiction …. So her mom is not far behind.

This trip down memory lane will bring closure to the series. Schulner said, “So looking at the core issues that were set up in season 1 for all of our characters, how can we bring them to a close in season 5 knowing it’s our last?”

What are the Reviews of the New Amsterdam Series?

I was initially captivated by the show and binged-watched five episodes of season 1. Each episode however shows the excess cheesiness in the writing and unrealism of medical plotlines.

Although I have never worked in the medical industry, it is obvious that this hospital cannot be run realistically. It’s impossible to suspend disbelief for too long.

Only once in my entire life would I love to see a television show that depicts a career with any amount of reality. It is still something I watch, but not fully. Gone are the days when episode 1 was the first time I thought this might be the reality-based, socio-conscious Medical Drama that would eventually lead the genre on a bold new course.

New Amsterdam Season 5 Episode 3: Preview

It is a show I cannot stop watching. It would have been easy to stop watching it a few years back.

Unfortunately, we’re in the fifth season with the same situation of trying to force political opinions down everybody’s throats. Sometimes I understand it, especially regarding health care reform which directly correlates with how hospitals run. For each episode? What about matters that are not directly related to the wider medical field? Insist! It is too much!
