Rent-A-Girlfriend season 3 announced by Reiji Miyajima that was in production just moments after the season 2 finale. A short video featuring the chibi versions the four main female characters in Rent-a-Girlfriend, Mizuhara/Ichinose Churu (Amamiya Ten), Sumi Sukurasawa (Takahashi Riie), Mami Nagami (Aoi Yuuki) and Ruka Sarashina/Nao Higashiyama was released.
After DMM Pictures had released a short video entitled She will borrow, the official YouTube channel announced that this announcement would be made. The official Twitter account for Rent-a-Girlfriend announced the “Phase 3 production decisions” and revealed that a special event would be held in March 2023.
This event will bring together the entire cast of the series. They will discuss the events of season 2 and share their stories.
The Story Of Rent-A-Girlfriend
Reiji Miyajima’s manga inspired the story. Kodansha published the manga in English. It describes the plot as follows: “Rental” services are available today in Japan. They can provide an afternoon with a friend, a parent, or even a fake girlfriend. Kazuya, a young and desperate freshman, is shocked by the betrayal of his girlfriend.
He soon discovers how difficult it is to “rent” an emotion connection. His new girlfriend, who wants to keep her side hustle a secret, will panic when she learns that her real life and Kazuya’s are intertwined in unexpected ways. In this manga romance, a sweet, but ignorant boy meets a cute, but determined, girl.
Rent A Girlfriend Season 2 Preview
Mizuhara is determined to make her acting dreams come true, even though her grandmother is fighting for her life every day in the hospital. Mizuhara has wanted to make a movie with grandma Sayuri, but her declining health means she doesn’t have the time or energy to achieve her ambitious goal. Her job as a rental girl helps her keep her acting dreams alive.
Mizuhara relates that her interest in acting began when she saw that her grandma Sayuri was a successful actress. It was her seeing her on the movie cover that inspired her to pursue acting. Her grandfather was also supportive. She was still in school when she learned the terrible news that her grandfather had been seriously injured in an accident on the road.
Mizuhara raced to the hospital and found her grandfather in critical condition. Sayuri was by his side. She prayed for him with all her heart, but his condition didn’t improve over the next days. He told Mizuhara on his deathbed that her acting dreams would come true one day. Mizuhara will never forget that moment.

Mizuhara is now the only one who has the opportunity to live her dream, as she no longer has her grandmother. After a tiring day at work, Mizuhara returns home to review the audition results. Mizuhara fails to land a role in any of the auditions. Mizuhara continues to fail despite her best efforts, and she eventually gives up and starts crying.
She takes her grandfather’s photograph and asks him whether her dreams will come true. Mizuhara is usually very emotional, but her grandmother’s declining health, and her inability to get a job are too much for her. Unbeknownst to Mizuhara, Kazuya has a brilliant plan to help achieve her goals.
Rent-A-Girlfriend Season 3 Release Date
Studio TMS Entertainment, Kodansha or any other company involved in the production of the anime have not confirmed the Rent-A-Girlfriend Season 3 date as of the last update. The production of the sequel to Rent-A-Girlfriend 3 was announced officially on September 16, 2022.
