So Help Me Todd Before Season 2
Before starting, we will provide a little reminder of the previous season.
So Help Me Todd Season 1 Recap And Ending Explained
Episode 13 of So Help Me Todd’s Season 1 begins with the tragic death of two construction workers. The roof fell on them as they were leaving their condo building late at night.
Margaret meets Gus unexpectedly at court. Gus claims he is innocent of not replying to Margaret’s texts, but Margaret sees through his power play. Gus is visiting the city to represent it in the case regarding the deaths of two workers. They agreed to meet for lunch, but Gus offered them a sandwich in the company’s conference room.
Peter Chen, Susan’s fiancée, visits the office to ask Todd for a favor. June, one of his young assistants is missing. Todd is charged with finding her. We discover that Gus is accompanied by Eugene, who was the engineer responsible for ensuring the soil was suitable for construction of the collapsed structure. Eugene states that he checked the soil about two years ago, when construction began, and it was in good condition. Gus suggests Margaret as lead counsel because she is more familiar with local municipal law.
She accepts the job. Failure will result in civil lawsuits against the city and employees being forced to pay out of their own pockets. June’s sister Audrey tells Todd she loved the spin class. Todd meets Thor, June’s instructor and learns that June is parked just a few streets away from the office. He isn’t allowed to see the data on June’s wristband, which might help him confirm her location. We learn in a tense scene in the lift that Susan is representing Peter’s construction company against the city, which Margaret and Gus represent. Lyle is neutral and divides the office in two – a firewall, to avoid any conflicts of interest.

Margaret is invited to Gus’ cabin for lunch, but accidentally falls in the lake. They talk about how they came to terms with their pasts and started dating again. Independent soil testing results have been released and they have deemed the soil unfit to be used for construction. They compare the report with Eugene’s original one and discover that Eugene did the original testing at a different place. Eugene reveals to them that a female security guard may have had the opportunity to alter the samples on the night of testing when she checked his car’s boot. Todd breaks into June’s car and finds a bank receipt to deposit the money. Red clay is also found at the footwell of the driver.
June paid Peter a personal check for 20k. The memo line contained “kisses” written in it. Todd visits the office to disrupt Valentine’s Day. However, he discovers that June’s dog was named Kisses. He died just recently. It was his chemotherapy. Gus text Margaret to inform her that he had found the security firm. Todd is also abruptly absent from Allison’s birthday party. Gus and Margaret learn that no one is sent to the construction site at night. Who was the security guard then?
Peter takes Todd to a place where the soil has turned red. The spot is where June’s body was found. Margaret and Todd wonder about the identity of the killer. He calls Allison, and she tells him all about the GPS data on the fitness bracelet. Todd discovers something! June visited Audrey’s home the night she disappeared. As she is leaving, he drops a tracker in her purse. Eugene spots her in the parking lot, and confirms that it is the security guard. Todd follows Audrey in his car, and Margaret and Gus tag along. They conclude that Audrey has a financial stake in the property, and cannot afford to have the soil tested unfit.
To open the whole property up for development, she changed the samples. Audrey brought the clay from June’s car. She killed her sister Audrey and drove the car back to the office. They found her in a departmental shop, where she was shopping for things to abscond. The matter is now closed and the firewall has been lifted.

Gus leaves and Margaret asks him out on a date. She rebuffs his attempts and takes back the control of the courting. Todd emotionally admits that he is excited for Susan. He considers Peter extremely lucky that he and Susan share a moment where it feels like they want to kiss one another. They both realize the reality and Peter grabs Susan.
Margaret watches Todd feel heartbroken as Susan leaves and draws a heart from her cabin to console him.
Last Episode Review

Over the course of the season, Susan and Todd have become very close. Todd’s reaction to the loss of a chance shows how regret can strike. Right person, wrong moment.
Peter Chen finally made his guest appearance. This was his first appearance of the season. We almost believed he was a fictional character or that he was having problems with Susan.
This is the big question: Is Susan still in love? Although the chances of this happening are slim, it would be incredible to see them together. Gus is a likeable character, and maybe there’s a future for Margaret with him.
Lyle’s strict firewall monitoring allowed for some additional comedy elements to be added to the episode. This is what we’ve come to expect from the show.

Review Before To Watch So Help Me Todd Season 2

It is important to distinguish between a procedural and legal drama. The former may not be as focused on organizational details as the latter, but they are more precise to achieve that end. This creates a structural distinction where legal dramas are more flexible and therefore, easier to follow.
This flexibility is an enormous advantage for So Help Me Todd, a CBS program that’s very good. Every episode presents a new case to the mother-son team of Margaret Gay Harden and Todd (Skylar Astin) Wright, and an opportunity for them both to rebuild their relationship. The season begins in a muddled fashion with no clear direction or a formula other than the cases to be solved. However, So Help Me Todd slowly grasps onto a direction and makes for good television.
Each episode is akin to an anthology format. It brings a new case to Margaret Wright, a hardworking, smart and successful lawyer. After proving himself to be a competent investigator, her son Todd is hired by her firm. His professional license is suspended and his life nearly ended after he committed treacherous acts at his previous job.
Todd is a fresh face at the law firm. He uses his instincts to get his mother’s clients out from trouble and bend the rules. Margaret is often astonished by Todd’s unconventional approach. He worries that he might get into trouble.
Help Me Todd doesn’t get too involved in the process. Both the storyline and modus operandi of Help Me Todd are very simple and straightforward. The writing is not very serious, even when it comes down to the emotional aspect. These moments are reduced to a few seconds between episodes when the characters realize their circumstances. The best thing about the format is the way that each episode ends the storyline. You will not see the plot continue into the next week. This gives you instant gratification and patience.
When you return to the show for another case, there is no baggage for you to juggle with. Although the mysteries are easy to understand, they can be complex enough to keep your attention on the screen.
By episode three, writers seemed to have mastered the idea of creating and dispersing small pieces of the puzzle in a democratic and logical manner. This was So Help Me Todd’s tipping point. From that point it began to make good numbers and established its operational formula. The show’s creative decision to use this format is not faulted. It makes investigations and their outcomes predictable.

The one thing that is certain about the show is that viewers don’t watch it to be enticed by the mystery of each case. It is a wonderful feeling to have closure in all cases, and if it is a good case, that you can move on with your life after the episode.
So Help Me Todd is an hour of entertaining detective work. It also upholds frontier justice and provides simple family drama that anyone can relate to. Although it might seem like a harsh critique from a high-handed reviewer, the comment is not intended to be insulting. This compliment is definitely appropriate because even though the execution may seem simple, it must have a sweetness and likeability.
It is not fair to dismiss the hard work of writers who put in a lot of effort. Each case’s themes and subject matter are based on current legal developments. They cover issues that are changing the paradigms in the field. This treatment is not outdated, derivative or ineffective. As is often the case with people, someone’s strengths can be weaknesses to someone else’s.
So Help Me Todd is easy to watch and flows well. It’s also not difficult. Some people might withdraw from the show after watching a few episodes. This is because they aren’t as excited about modern-day content.
In some instances, the acting is very uninteresting and light. Harden is the one most responsible. She freezes sometimes and then presents a plastic-face when it is her turn. Other than the protagonists, the supporting cast members that aren’t as serious-looking as her aren’t either.
These are the smallest complaints about the show. It is important to not compare apples and oranges before you take aim at So Help Me Todd from the shoulder of a more successful peer. It is impossible to expect comedy from a horror film. The CBS drama is an excellent choice for those who are familiar with the format.
Where can I watch the first season of So Help Me Todd?

You can catch up on drama if you have fallen behind, but the majority of the show is only available in one location.
The CBS official website offers the latest episode and additional support. You can also access the remainder of the season by entering a streaming login or cable login. Pluto TV also offers the first four episodes of the show with ad support.
