The two went to the cafe nearby and enjoyed chatting while eating. Jinwu asks Ijin about his grade, and Ijin realizes that he has to lie about everything since he is a fake student. He forgot that the Snake-Tattooed Bully sent him to bring food, and if he is late, he will be punished. Ijin does this to lure the snake-tattooed tyrant to where they are.

He lies and reveals that he is a third-year student, making Jinwu realize that the masked man is a year above him. Ijin realizes this is why he never saw the masked man at school. Jinwu shocked Ijin when he said he was attending another school, and Jinwu wondered what was happening since they were wearing the same school uniforms.

Ijin realizes that Jinwu is in danger, and Ijin comes inside the classroom, where he notices the snake-tattooed bully and his girlfriend are angry.

The Teenage Mercenary is a webtoon that is an excellent read just for fun. It does not seek to reinvent anything. But that is perfectly fine. It quickly introduces a bunch of characters and keeps you hooked on the fast pace. It doesn’t give the audience a chance to be bored for a second.
He finds excuses to have a fight scene which is the best part of this webtoon and the art is beautiful.
Audiences usually hate cliché, predictable shows/manga, but it’s been really satisfying thus far.

About The Main Character

Yu Ijin is the main protagonist of the Mercenary Enrollment manhwa (other title: Teenage Mercenary, Ipak Yongbyeong). The story begins when Ijin, a young mercenary and victim of a plane crash, is reunited with his family after a decade. He tries to be a normal high schooler and defend the family he hadn’t seen in years, but criminals and kidnappers get in his way.

This manhwa has fascinating themes resembling people orphaned by war, the importance of families and the sad use of children as child soldiers. It focuses on child abuse due to war and the stolen childhood of young children (see chapter 29 where Ijin thinks deeply about being “wronged” by being forced to fight for 10 years). It also has good lessons of “STRONG should defend the WEAK” where Ijin protects his sisters and friends from bullies, Cha Dusik from other gangsters and other mercenaries, etc.
