STORY SO Far

Detective Joe is irritated by what Mars is doing. He won’t attack unwitting earthlings from the beginning. They are constantly nasty to each other and incite conflict, as if they want a pointless war. Diplomacy is not his forte. He’s out on the hunt to find the missing ship’s female.

While he is working, he also disables two more merchant vessels. Joe fears the ships are carrying illegal cargo and are disappearing. He discovered that a biohazard had settled on one of the ships and that he must find it. He doesn’t know how it kills or what it looks. Joe was reluctant to leave the shadows but it seems like he will be fighting alongside another gang member on a regular basis.

The Prime Video Network has yet to announce its plans for “The Expanse,” but based on past schedules, the 7th season of The Expanse could debut on Sunday, November 20, 2022.

The Expanse Season 6 Preview

Unfortunately, Expanse‘s tenure has ended. After Season 3 was over, SYFY decided to cancel the show in May 2018. It seemed like all hope was lost. But Amazon came in two weeks later and bought it. Amazon had announced last year that the show’s sixth and final season would feature six episodes. The series is based on James S.A. Corey’s books. It will include Babylon’s Ashes, the final episode of the series’ ninth season. Although Persepolis Rising takes place 28 years into the future, it seems like a natural place to stop. However, for those who have been following the series for its entire run, it is still bittersweet.

The Expanse takes place in the future, hundreds of years in the past, when outer space is occupied by different factions and Earth, Mars and those who live on the Outer Planets (known collectively as Belters), are constantly in conflict for control over the solar system. The show revolves around Captain James Holden ( Steven Strait), and his crew on the ship the Rocinante. How does this show’s sixth and final season play out for these characters. Let’s look at it.

My Enemy is My Enemy

Before the start of Season 6 was recorded, the Belter extremist Marco Inaros ( Keon Alexander ) had established a Free Navy to attack Earth and Mars using asteroids disguised in stealth technology. After years of oppression by the inner planets, and Mars, Marco’s main goal is to take control of the solar systems. His goal, besides that, is to be the sole authority over all ships passing through The Ring, an alien structure which formed after Uranus and provides access to other galaxies. It contains unidentified energies which can ignite and dissolve ships if they are not properly entered.

Marco’s plan, if it succeeds, will cut off the Inner Planet from the Ring resources. It would also give the Belter factions sufficient authority to control the entire system. U.N. President Chrisjen Avasarala ( Shohreh Aghdashloo), is collaborating with the MCRN and crew of the Roci to devise a strategy to stop Marco’s attacks. They have no choice but to enlist Belter Camina Drummer ( Cara gee), who accepts the temporary alliance in order to bring down Marco. Let’s get to war.

How it Ends

Plan A is to divide the U.N. and the MCRN into three groups in order to pursue the Free Navy. Although the U.N. claims they have seen Marco’s ship, Pella, it turns out that it is a decoy. Drummer discovers that the Pella disguised as a freighter is what he has spotted. Drummer’s ship is badly damaged, so Walker ( Stuart Hughes), her colleague, crashes his ship into Pella. This causes Marco and his crew major problems. Rosenfeld ( Kathleen Robertson), Marco’s second-in-command, is killed in the impact. Walker succumbs to his injuries and waves goodbye to Drummer via the comm system. Marco is not affected by Rosenfeld’s death, which gives Naomi’s son Filip ( jasai Chase–Owens ) some time to reflect on why he is so loyal to his Dad.

Plan B, which we knew had to happen, sees the Roci performing a complete burnout of the Ring. Marco has placed a rail gun at Medina Station to destroy all ships that come near. Holden’s team will use the Giambatista, an old ice freighter as bait, while he deploys strike teams to land on Medina. (Easter egg alert: All strike team names are tributes of characters from sci-fi classics such as Aliens and Blade Runner, Dune and Star Trek, Battlestar Gallactica, and so on. The strike team is hit hard by a lot of casualties. But Bobbie Draper ( Frankie Adams), bravely positioned herself in the center of the action and took out the rail gun along with Amos ( Wes Chatham), and finally the Roci covering her. They survive and now control Medina Station.

However, they are unable to defend themselves against the Free Navy without the railgun. Marco had been counting on Admiral Duarte ( Dylan Taylor), on the Ring planet Laconia, to give him support once he arrives at The Ring. This could be a move that could turn the tide in his favor. The Admiral calls Marco back and tells him that he was only using Marco as a distraction and that Laconia will not be supporting him anymore. The injured and exhausted crew are not informed by Marco, who is stunned to learn that he has no support for them as they head to the Ring without it.

Naomi ( Dominique Tipper) is back on the Rocinante and he figures out that if the Giambatista is destroyed, it may be possible to awaken the mysterious energy entities around the Ring, who could disintegrate Marco’s ship if it enters. In a highly satisfying twist of events, Marco is also disintegrated just as he is trying to figure out what’s going on. Filip escapes in a pod just before the ship enters The Ring. Perhaps he can make a comeback after all the murder and genocide.

The U.N. and MCRN sit down with Drummer after the battle to discuss who will control traffic through the Ring. Drummer, however, is opposed to the decision. Avasarala believes that Mars and the U.N. should manage it. The group finally agrees to the compromise of an independent council, with Holden as its president. After being sworn into office, Holden appointed Drummer his vice president and immediately resigned. Avasarala is furious at the bait-and switch, but eventually trusts Holden. Our beloved Roci and its crew are now off to space, ready for their next adventure.
