The L Word Generation Q Before Season 3

Before tackling season 3, we’ll talk a bit about the previous season.

The L Word Generation Q Recap

The L Word Generation Q Recap

We have a lot of ground to cover in this season’s finale, so buckle up! Think of a confetti cannon. The confetti is how many times you exaggerate your facial features while watching. It’s happening, people! It was all I could eat. Don’t judge or do anything to me. I don’t care.

Sophie is joined by Shane, Tess and Micah. It is time for an intervention. Finley is stunned to see the number of faces waiting for her. They get straight to the point, suggesting that Finley be admitted to rehabilitation on Alice’s dime. Finley is full of defensiveness and in complete denial. A broken Sophie makes one last plea and says, “I love You.” Finley returns with a “F you, you’re not going” and walks out of the front door. That one hurt.

As Pippa openly admits her reservations about Bette, Jealousy takes over. Bette might be convincing herself that she is better than Tina, but she doesn’t want her to be used. Bette tells Pippa that her instincts are incorrect, but Pippa isn’t convinced. Pippa, you and all of us.

If you get my drift, this is a very unrealistic sex scene between Shane & Tess. We salute their decision to remove Finley from the bar. Tess reveals that a move to Vegas was necessary. Tess asks Shane if they are able to make a long-distance relationship work. Or would she consider moving?

The L Word Generation Q Recap

Alice is criticized by a critic, and she decides to cancel her date with Tom. Shane informs Alice that this is her first time not putting out a character. She’s actually putting herself out there. It hurts when that vulnerability is rejected. Real talk, Sis.

Bette talks to Shane about the need to fight for true love. Shane then claps back, asking if Bette is referring to Pippa and Tina. The hypothetical question: What would Bette do if Tina showed-up at Bette’s door declaring her love? Bette won’t reveal anything until she is ready, but she doesn’t fold the cards. Shane offers a gentle nudge and confesses Carrie’s revelations. Shane encourages Bette to take action if she feels the need to be with Tina.

Gigi accompanies Dani as she goes to court, where her father has been subpoenaed. Dani is overcome with anxiety as she watches the proceedings, and her father’s stares. Dani is beginning to unravel and Gigi escorts Dani out of the courtroom at her request. The attorney for Mr. Nunez follows them and warns Dani that she could be held in contempt if Dani leaves. Gigi is a lioness and hustles Dani to the end of the attorney. Where can I find a Gigi-like protector? I don’t want a friend.

The L Word Generation Q Recap

Angie is dealing with Marcus’s passing. Jordi and Angie visit Marcus’s daughter Kayla. Kayla shares with Angie that Angie wrote Marcus a list of questions. She and her family were able to answer all the questions on the list for him. Kayla begins to read the stories aloud, and Angie’s eyes light up. My heart just melted across the floor.

The bar is full for Alice’s self-thrown travel book tour going away party. Tom arrives after the abandoned date and accepts Alice’s apology again. Tom is like a puppy that keeps coming back. I can’t blame him for this, because I was the exact same way.

Tess hears Shane say, “I’ve never had roots as good as this.” She looks around at her bar and signals her inability to move to Vegas. Shane admits she is in love. Tess agrees. “I must go, and you have to remain.” Will there be another season without Tessa? Is it too soon to celebrate?

Bette and Tina leave the party while Carrie goes to get drinks. Bette is quick to ask Tina why she wanted to know if Bette was still in love. Just as Bette is about to confess her love for Tina, Carrie interrupts. Tina tells Carrie that she doesn’t think Carrie will be able to match Bette’s standards. Oof. Oof.

The L Word Generation Q Recap

Finley attempts to prove that she doesn’t have any problems by drinking until her eyes are full and going out with friends at night. After deciding that she is done with it, Sophie goes to her Mom’s to move in. Surprisingly, Finley is seated on the couch! Finley apologizes and accepts to go to rehab. Baby, I am cheering you on! Sophie drops Fin off and promises to be there for Fin when he gets out.

Bette is at home and has skipped the CAC gala. Angie has a gift from Bette: an oil painting that her Dad gave her. Okay, I’m crying. Angie convinces Bette that life is too short and that “we have to make big moves”.

Alice and Tom board a plane. Alice discovers a ring in Tom’s pocket and puts it in her jacket while she goes to the bathroom. We are all more connected than we think to the desire to u-haul.

The L Word Generation Q Recap

Gigi takes Dani with her to meet the extended family. Dani seems right at home in the large, energetic Ghorbani group. Gigi and Dani have a great time and the evening is a success. Police arrive at the restaurant and arrest Dani for criminal contempt. I think Gigi was too feigned in not responding to the lawyer’s threats. Dani has had a very turbulent year.

We simultaneously watch Bette get ready for the Gala and Pippa walk the red carpet at the Gala. Pippa is asked by the media, “Are you waiting for anybody?” She looks around. Bette is now running to get to the gala, so she opens her front door. Don’t panic! Tina is now standing there, asking for your help. Bette’s expression is full of emotion. This is the moment we have waited since the iconic show began back up.

The L Word Generation Q Season 3 Plot

The L Word Generation Q Season 3 Plot

Season 2 ended in an appalling surprise. Bette handled Tina’s engagement and Angie’s look for her biological dad; Shane increased her business and her feelings towards Tess; while Alice, a hot new author, struggled with her complex feelings for her book editor. Gigi, a single Dani, leaned on Gigi throughout her father’s trial. Finley and Sophie worked hard to make it work despite Finley’s spiraling addiction. Friends Micah (Jillian Mercado), fell hard for one another.

Some characters left us with many unanswered questions. We don’t know what will happen to Tess and Shane, as she went to Las Vegas to care for her mother. However, we don’t know if Bette will choose Pippa or her ex Tina. Gigi is in a relationship with Shane, which we thought was a happy one. However, it’s possible that there will be some adjustment for Gigi after Dani was arrested at Gigi’s family dinner. Season 3 promises to answer all of these questions.

The show’s official social media accounts shared some hints by sharing a photo of the cover page for season premiere script. It is full of teasers like “I wanna see you fu*k your ex/our ex/your copy,” “I wanna stream you,” and “Someone get married?” Are any of the Generation Q couples ready for their nervousness to be put aside and get married. We will wait until November to find out.

Review Before To watch The L Word Generation Q season 3

Review Before To watch The L Word Generation Q season 3

After the aftermath of Sophie’s and Dani’s terrible non-nuptials, Season 2 is over.

Angie went to prom despite the fact that her donor was in a fragile medical condition. Unfortunately, Marcus passed away as she was dancing the night away. This left Bette and Tina devastated for their daughter.

In a truly rock bottom moment, Finley, the mysterious woman who disappeared, finally showed up at Dani’s apartment drunk. Let’s get to the end, with more drama.

The L Word Generation Q: Nobody likes an intervention

The L Word Generation Q: Nobody likes an intervention

Finley is in a downward spiral and there’s only one way out. Sophie, Micah and Tess arrive at Sophie’s house to help Finley (thank goodness with Micah as her built-in therapist).

It doesn’t go well. Finley claims she hasn’t got a problem, but Finley says that it’s just a bad run. Yeah, sure. Sophie replies by saying that she can’t keep it all together. Finley is her love, but she doesn’t have the strength to keep it together. Sophie finally packs up and goes to stay with her family.

Finley is naturally a party girl and soon gets so drunk that she almost gets hit by a vehicle. She sees Sophie, and she decides to return to rehab. Although it’s a little schmaltzy and gimmicky, I think Finley should go for herself and not her girlfriend. But at least she went.

The season two finale saw them fall apart, but we can only hope that they will come back together in season three.

The L Word Generation Q: Nobody likes an intervention

Talking of interventions, anyone can see what’s going on between Bette, Tina, even though the two of them cannot. After their conversation at the hospital, Bette is still in denial about their relationship. Pippa then asks her the exact same question: is she still in love?

Bette denies it. But then, while shopping for Tina’s and Carrie’s wedding gifts, Shane, Alice and Alice tell Tina that it isn’t so crazy. Shane then announces that Carrie is having cold feet. It’s time to fight for Tina.

Alice is hosting yet another party at Dana’s. This is Alice’s bon voyage for her book tour. Although it’s not a good excuse to bring everyone together, why not make Tina and Carrie’s wedding the focal point of the event? I digress.)

The L Word Generation Q: Nobody likes an intervention

Bette calls Tina aside as they finish their conversation at the hospital. She then tries to answer Shane’s question while she was shopping: “If Tina came to your door and said that she was still in love, what would you do?”

Bette is unable to tell Tina because Carrie interrupts them. Carrie is finally fed up with Bette’s crap and tired of being second fiddle to Tina. They split up for good. It’s understandable but I am still sad to see Rosie go.

Tina storms up to Bette, claiming that she had planned this. Just in time for Pippa, who walks in and watches the drama unfold, declares she was correct about her girlfriend’s feelings for her ex. This is L Word chaos at its best, and it’s something we love to watch.

Bette spends a special moment at home with Angie and presents her one Marcus’s paintings. She encourages her (in an indirect way) to pursue Pippa. Tina appears just as she is about to leave and makes Shane’s fantasy real. This leaves us with a cliffhanger in season three.

The L Word Generation Q: What else happened this week in the L Word?

The finale has some great Dani and Gigi moments. Dani is about to testify for her father, but she panics. Gigi stands up for Dani and encourages her to leave the courtroom during the trial.

Dani tries talking to her father, but he has become a complete monster by this point. She is left with Gigi to support her. Gigi is ready and willing to do the same. Dani, who omitted to give her testimony, is arrested after the couple enjoy a wonderful dinner with Gigi’s family.

Alice is shocked to read a negative review about her book and stands up for Tom. Shane assures her that it’s okay for her to admit she was hurt, and she sends Tom lobster candy as an apology.

Tom arrives at the party and announces that they have reached the bestseller list. Alice really had an easy time with this book thing, aside from the one bad review. Shane ends the episode with one of my favorite lines: “Honestly, a man I’ve never loved more in my entire life.”

This is a good thing, considering Alice discovers a ring in Tom’s pocket as they travel on the book tour…

Tess, speaking of Shane: Tess says she must return to Vegas to care for her mom. She asks Shane to accompany her. Shane informs Tess that she cannot leave but that she is in love with her. Although it looks like they will do long-distance together, the finale leaves it unclear.

We can only hope that Shane and Shane don’t lose their love for each other, no matter how hard they try to be together.
