The Wheel of Time Season 2 Review

The first season of The Wheel of Time was a departure from The Eye of the World by Robert Jordan. However, the elements it included and omitted give some clues about where the series may go in its second season. Although the showrunner Rafe Judkins has shown that he is willing to alter the plot in a dramatic way, it is not possible to predict what might happen from the books.
Rand’s Love Interest

The Wheel of Time took a little more from the romantic feelings that Rand and Egwene had in season one than was shown in the books. That’s okay. In the finale, the dramatic tension served to show Rand’s ability to resist the temptations of his servants and the Dark One. The show showed Rand’s ability to change the world. This could be visually interpreted as an internal struggle from the novels.
It is important to remember that Rand’s respect for Egwene’s desire to be an Aes Sedai means that he will likely have a future partner. One such love interest has been cast already: Ceara Coveney will play Elayne Trakand. This noblewoman was first introduced in The Eye of the World. Given Rand’s relationship to Egwene, it makes sense that Elayne’s entry would be delayed until The Wheel of Time season 2. But, it is coming.
Rand’s Personal Journey

The Wheel of Time final hit readers with a lot of bombshells. These included the death of Loial (Judkins made assurances the Ogier will heal), but perhaps the most shocking was Rand telling Moiraine that he had died fighting against the Dark One. Maybe the writers wanted readers to be surprised, even if they thought they knew what would happen!
Rand may instead embark on an individual journey, away from his friends, to find his new home as the Dragon Reborn. This quest could allow Rand to visit Andor and meet Elayne, as previously mentioned. Season 2 of The Wheel of Time could also help locate the male channeler who is on the run from the Red Ajah and Soldiers of the Light, before finally reuniting him with his fellow Two Rivers residents.
The Horn of Valere

It should not be surprising that Jordan’s second book The Great Hunt is of central importance for the story to follow. The Horn of Valere is Padan Fain’s abduction with the Wheel of Time finale. The Horn is said to summon the past heroes to join the Last Battle against Dark One. The ghostly army can be compared to the Wild Hunt in European folklore. However, in this instance, they serve the Light under the banner of Dragon.
Padan Fain, a darkfriend, posed as a merchant during his trips to the Two Rivers. He presumably led the army of Trollocs into the small town of premiere. In the finale, he allegedly stole the Horn to stop it being used against his dark lord. However, in the books, he also stole Mat’s dagger which was necessary to cure him of his corruption. We now have our next prediction for season 2.
The Return of Mat Cauthon

One of the most significant departures from the Jordan books, Mat Cauthon didn’t participate in the trip to the Blight and the attack on Fal Dara. The Wheel of Time. His fate is tied to the Horn of Valere. He will need to return to the company to retrieve this artifact. Even if Padan Fain does not have his corrupted knife, Mat is still in danger.
Strangely, Mat’s departure from the final actions may make it easier to transition to a new actor for audiences. Donal Finn has taken over Barney Harris’s role for season 2. The resentment that some characters feel about Mat’s abandonment of them will add a new dynamic and spark a conversation.
Perrin’s Wolf Connection

The Wheel of Time has a lot of tricks up its sleeves for season 2. This includes Perrin’s continued mysterious connection with wolves. Even people who don’t know the books will probably be able to see that Perrin’s glowing eyes were not caused by wild dogs attacking the Soldiers of the Light camp. Egwene had been with Perrin throughout their journey to White Tower. They also accompanied them on the Tinkers’ time. The pack seemed more protective than aggressive.
You should now be able to see that Rand was not the Dragon Reborn. However, this doesn’t mean that the other four candidates don’t have their own power. Nynaeve, Egwene, and Mat have almost reversed death. Perrin and Mat also have hidden powers that will be plowed in the second season. They will bring Rand into his power and help him fulfill his destiny.
The Seanchan
At the conclusion of Season 1 finale, the elephant in the room is the presence of a fleet of vessels off the coast of any continent. The Channelers aboard are and definitely not Aes Sedai. They are aggressively acting towards the land they are approaching, invoking an enormous tidal force to beat the shore, killing anyone who is watching from the shore.
This is the Seanchan, an alien race that appears prominently in later The Wheel of Time novels. It’s difficult to share much information about this seafaring nation without spoilers. However, suffice it to state that they pose a significant threat to civilizations already in the area they have just entered. Rand and the other members of the group will have a lot to do if they want to stop this invasion.
The Wheel of Time has shown time and again that it is not afraid to make modifications to its source material, whether for good or bad. It’s difficult to predict where the story will go in season 2. We can speculate about the future with some educated guesswork and some casting news.

The Wheel of Time Season 3 Storyline

The Wheel of Time tells the story of Moiraine who is a member of the Aes Sedai, a powerful group of women with the ability of channeling One Power. Moiraine and Lan Mandragoran, her Warder, search for the Dragon’s reincarnation years after the male half was corrupted. Moiraine and Lan don’t have a plan to kill all male channelers, like the other Aes Sedai do, but they are determined to find reincarnation and use him or her against the Dark One.
Moiraine and Lan’s search for candidates in the Two Rivers led them to Rand al’Thor (Perrin Aybara), Mat Cauthon and Egwene al’Vere. We see Moiraine and Lan on their return to the Aes Sedai centre (the White Tower) and then to the Seat of Dark One (the Eye of the World), as well as the possible Dragon reincarnations and the evil followers of the Dark One. Split up and subject to betrayals and losses, as well as injuries and death.
Prime Video’s fantasy series The Wheel of Time is based on a Tetradecology (series of fourteen books) of the same title. After Robert Jordan’s death, Brandon Sanderson completed the books. Rafe Judkins (American television producer and writer) developed the show in 2017 for Prime Video. The fantasy series was produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon Studios. It was also produced by Radar Pictures and Iwot Pictures. Ted Field, Sanaa Hamri, Mike Weber and Sanaa Hamri are the executive producers. Rosamund Pike (Moiraine), is also a producer. The first season of The Wheel of Time, which aired in November 2021, was filmed primarily at Prague.
The Wheel of Time Season 3 Episode Plot

Rafe Judkins, with 14 books to choose from, has many plotlines for The Wheel of Time series. However, not in a chronological order. Although the producers and writers have their vision, Harriet McDougal (the widow of Robert Jordan), and Brandon Sanderson, the second author of the Tetradecology, are onboard as consultants producers to help keep the series true to its original message.
It is impossible to predict what The Wheel of Time Season 2 will bring so we can’t wait to see what The Wheel of Time Season 3 brings. In fact, it is possible that we will see the wheel spin for five more seasons. We will need to relax and not count our chickens until they hatch. The details will be taken care of by time.
