When Will What If…? Season 2 Release Date?

What if…? Season 2 will be available on Disney+ later in the year. Here’s all you need to know about it, including information about which characters might appear. This is one of our favorite MCU shows in years. The series premiered on Disney+ in 2021. It ran nine episodes and left viewers on edge. The Watcher quoted the words “You thought the story was over…but that was just the beginning.” With an amazing finale, there is plenty of room for new episodes.
The animated series is based on Marvel Comics. It explores alternate timelines in the multiverse and shows what consequences await those who try to alter them. The series is notable for its intriguing character, The Watcher. It also features many interesting scenarios such as what if Captain Carter was the first avenger or what if Ultron won. Marvel Studios has renewed the series for its second and third seasons, considering all that the multiverse has in store. Although little information is available about the third season of What If …?, we know a lot about what season 2 will look like.
What If…? Before Season 2

Before starting, we will make a little reminder of the previous season.
What If…? Season 1 Recap And Ending Explained
Marvel Studios’ most bizarre experiment has been completed. The …? Season 1 finale, entitled “The Watcher Broke his Oath”, gathered eight episodes from the series to give viewers closure. It also set up future events for Season 2 and the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe.
To explain what’s next, we’ll be discussing What if’s ending. We have spoilers ahead, as we discuss the Season 1 finale, post-credits scene, and what it means for Captain Carter, The Watcher, and many other characters.
WHAT IF EXPLAINED: CAPTAIN CREDITS SCENE

Hayley Atwell’s Peggy Carter is the last word in What If. This is fitting, since the show began with her. She is fighting Batroc the Leaper when she is pulled out of her universe to join the Guardians of the Multiverse by the Watcher. (In her universe, the events of Winter Soldier are just starting. I wonder if there is a Winter Soldier in a world without Bucky.)
Natasha tells Peggy that Black Widow has shown up to help Carter win. They walk up to a window. We see the Hydra Stomper inside, Steve Rogers’ Iron Man-esque battle armor made by Howard Stark. It survived the test of time and there is something in it.
Is it possible for a non-superpowered Steve Rogers to still exist inside the Hydra Stomper? Although he would be an old man, it wouldn’t be his first appearance as Old Man Steve. To find out, we’ll have to wait for What if Season 2, or perhaps sooner.
WHAT IF ENDING EXPLAINED BY THE WATCHER
The Watcher wraps up things much more smoothly, returning to his spot and observing the multiverse with one major change. He states subtly at the end of What If that he is no longer bound to observe and not interfere. He knows now that he must also “protect” the multiverse.
The Watcher is a comic character who has a history of interfering in comics. His appearance often indicates that something terrible is about to occur. He will most likely be seen in live action MCU soon to announce a new threat.
WHAT IF EXPLAINED DOCTOR STRANGE

The “evil” Doctor Strange, What if Episode 4, serves as the unofficial leader for this team of multiversal heroes and is tasked with keeping Ultron at bay. Strange is returned by The Watcher to the dying dimension of his making. Strange appears to accept this fate.
It’s only a matter of time until Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness in 2022. It is hard to imagine the movie not featuring Strange vs. It’s possible that we will see the What If version of this Avenger sooner.
WHAT IF EXPLAINED : BLACK WIDOW

Episode 9 ends with Black Widow, the version from the universe where Ultron won, begging not to return home. She’s the only living person in a post-apocalypse. The Watcher is kind to Natasha Romanoff.
Instead of sending her home, he drops her in What if Episode 3 (aka the episode where Hank Pym wipes away all the Avengers). She boards a helicarrier, where Captain Marvel, Nick Fury and Captain America are fighting against Loki’s Asgardian army. She quickly joins the fray and is happy to be back with any version of the Avengers.
The endings of the Guardians of the Multiverse are quite clear. They involve returning home to a happy ending. We may see Party Thor and T’Challah Star-Lord again in a future setting. But for now, it’s best to let them be.
What If…? Season 2 Release Date

Marvel didn’t give a release date, despite announcing that the second and third seasons would be renewed after season 1. The official Marvel website and San Diego Comic-Con 2022 announced that What if season 2 would premiere in early 2023. Ashley C. Bradley (head writer, executive producer, What if …?) revealed her plans for season 2 in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.
As Marvel prepares for the next phase, and digs deeper into the Multiverse concept in depth, What if season 2, is likely to offer content that exceeds the first. Contrary to popular belief, the first season did not shy away from darker territory. Fans would love to see the second season with similar themes and more interesting storylines. You can still watch What if season 2, and you can also celebrate the renewal of season 3, by checking out these MCU shows coming to Disney+ 2023.
What if Season 2 Cast

There is a lot of speculation about who will be appearing in the next season. Season 2.
Many What if Season 1 characters, including the Watcher and Zombie Hawkeye as well as Captain Marvel, Okoye and Captain America, will be returning for Season 2.
The newcomers confirmed for Season 2 are: Abomination, Ghost and the Scarlet Witch (in Season 1, we only saw Zombie Wanda), Yelena Belova, Kate Bishop, Kamala Khan and the Red Guardian. Also, Death Dealer, Katy of Shang Chi, Shang-Chi, and Jimmy Woo. It is not known if all or any of these characters will be voiced in Season 2.
Only one new – What If …? – actor has been confirmed. It is Cate Blanchett, who plays Hela. According to Laughing Place at LightBox Expo, Bryan Andrews, the series director, “talked about how he was surprised at recording Cate Blanchett playing Hela for an upcoming Episode in Season 2 and promised that it would be Hela like you’ve never seen before.”
What is the plot of What If Season 2?

No, the plot details for Season 2 remain behind closed doors. However, A.C Bradley, head writer, reiterated his previous comments to Slash Film regarding where he would like to take the show next.
Bradley spoke out about the idea of new characters and said that he was looking forward to Season 2. I don’t know if Shang-Chi is interested, but I would love to play with him. I would like to hang out with some Black Widow characters. We will be following new characters and new stories.
Each episode’s plot may depend on the heroes it chooses to highlight. Bradley teased Entertainment Weekly by saying “The fun in What If …? is that it’s all about the heroes.” The best part about exploring the infinite multiverse is that it’s all ours.
“I would love to play with all these characters and, as much as Captain Carter loves me, we have to share the love. I am very excited to share new worlds and new heroes.”
Season 2 will contain an episode from Season 1. This Season 1 episode featured Gamora just before she joined the Guardians of the Multiverse. Bradley said that this was also being considered. It will happen in the second season. You can see the end result.
At LightBox Expo, Bryan Andrews teased plotlines and joked that he didn’t know what he was allowed to share. He also mentioned a 1988 version of The Avengers, hinting that it would be exciting to see who would join that team. He also mentioned that the season premiere will pick up exactly where the Season 1 finale left off.
REVIEW Before To WATCH Marvel’s What If …? Season 2
Marvel’s What If promised a lot for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This series, along with Loki, introduced the concept of the multiverse. It promised viewers that it would explore all the fun possibilities with characters from different worlds. It did in part give that to fans. While there is no doubt that the show offered many multiversal possibilities, it proved that the Marvel formula limits the potential for unlimited imagination.
What If eventually revealed itself as yet another overarching story. The series led to the creation of the Guardians of the Multiverse. This group of heroes, all from previous episodes, is tasked with stopping the Infinity Stone-enabled Ultron. This grand adventure into alternate universes ended up being just another Team-Up of the Avengers-style group-up, and it wasn’t very good. The show’s final episode was no exception. It has a problem with the pacing of stories that feel like they are in hyperdrive. The episode’s final moments are short and the experience is rushed.
This is a huge problem with a concept such as What If. The idea of getting stranger stories was appealing. But the real attraction was that these unusual deviations could be given serious time to explore their unique ideas. Instead, the series sped along towards an imitation of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The show revealed many of the flaws in the whole Marvel experiment. It doesn’t matter how bizarre a scenario or concept might seem, it won’t feel out of place compared to the standard Marvel Cinematic Universe fare. This first season was dominated by snarky jokes, well-constructed but seldom imaginative action, and stories that rely on plot over character.
However, What If Season 1 had some highlights. The best episode was probably “What If… Doctor Strange Lost His Heart Instead Of His Hands?”. It explored one idea and one character and spent time fully absorbing its implications. The episode also told a full story, something that many episodes didn’t.
