Thomas Astruc is the series creator. He defines them as “sorts of little gods with power.” Furthermore, the Japanese word “kami” can be reinterpreted as “Kwami”. This word is used to refer to divinity or spirit within Shinto religion.

What is a Kwami, exactly?

The Kwami in Miraculous are abstract beings that are invisible to humans. They live in a magical dimension which is not the same as that of Men. A magician invented, some ten thousand years ago, magic jewels called the Miraculous. These enable concrete to be made, and the Kwamis to be materialized. These can be seen and interacted with by humans.

They are all asexual except Tikki, who is the only Kwami to use the pronoun “she”.

The Kwami can’t be photographed or filmed.

They love to bring human objects back to their magical world. Kwamis without a holder can use these objects to distract them. These objects are actually locked in the Miracle Box.

They love to celebrate birthdays.

Master Fu can heal them when they are sick. When they don’t have holders, they live with Master Fu in the miraculous box.

The Kwami in Miraculous: Appearance

They are only 10 cm in size, so the Kwamis are very small. Their head is larger than their bodies. They have a large head for their small bodies. They look just like animals. The Kwami of Ladybug’s Miraculous is therefore a ladybug. Nooroo’s Butterfly Kwami looks just like a butterfly.

Master Fu and the Miraculous holders do not know that they exist. The soldiers who chased Master Fu and Marianne during World War II knew about their existence and the miraculous box. There are many other magical creatures. Plagg will even claim that he met Genie of the Lamp. Plagg believes that Genie has very little power because he grants wishes.

THE KWAMI IN MIRACULOUS: Skills and ability

The Kwami in Miraculous. Kwamis are immortal beings that have been around since the beginning of time billions of years ago. All kwamis are able to fly and levitate. As shown in ” Papa Garou”, they can even fly through the skies to great heights. They can also be made intangible and pass through objects. They are not capable of passing through magic items like Miraculouses or Huntress from the Kwamis’. The Kwamis aren’t dependent on air, as shown in “Miracle Queen”, when Plagg and Tikki were submerged.

Each Kwami is endowed with his own superpower. Each power corresponds to an abstract idea that the Kwami represents. The destruction of cities and species can be caused by the Kwami using his superpower, which is carrierless.

As Plagg shows in The Collector, Kwamis can’t be photographed or filmed. They are also not perceivable by androids or robots like Aeon.

Even though they are small, the Kwamis appear to be strong enough for human-level strength. They can lift and carry objects larger than themselves. They can also inhabit and possess objects. As shown in ” The Puppeteer2″ as well as ” Captain Hardrock”, where they live at the head of a lock and a statue.

Kwamis can communicate in secret with Kwamis in another country on their life-cycle anniversary, if they meet in the Miracle Box at a certain time and sing together. A stronger connection between Kwamis and Kwamis is more likely to work. If the Kwami being reached is powering up its Miraculous at that time, the Kwamis will contact its carrier instead.

They can also create Kwagatama which are great symbols for friendship among kwamis. They join the hairs of the Miraculous wearers with the ones they have taken from them. After a while, they secrete magic resin and then they are ready to spit it out.

Although they seem to be able to detect the presence of other Kwamis, only Wayzz or Tikki have demonstrated this ability. This may be exclusive to them. Their range is limited and they may not be capable of detecting other Kwami powers. Wayzz, for example, was unable to detect Duusu months ago. Before Nooroo.

Because they and their Miraculous were used by people all over the globe throughout history, kwamis are able to speak and understand all languages. They don’t know which country will be their next bearer, and this is crucial. As shown in ” MiraculousWorld: Shanghai”, Tikki could speak Chinese fluently. Also, their sentences that activate their transformation and activate their powers can also be spoken in any language.

Kwamis can transform their wielders into Kwamis, which gives them a certain degree of resistance to akumatized attack, as shown in ” The Disloheart”, where Plagg is unaffected from the effects of the villain’s bow.

Transformations

Their greatest ability is to enable their wearers to transform into superheroes. They can also grant specific powers via the Miraculous to whom they are connected (such as power of creation by Tikki, or power of destruction by Plagg). When the transformation phrase is spoken, it activates. The Kwami is then sucked into the Miraculous’s body, even though they don’t want to. The Kwami is transformed into pure energy and charges the Miraculous, which results in their demise. [5] As long as no super power is used (Lucky Charm, Cataclysm…), the transformation will last.

They can also improve the physical skills of their users, including speed, strength and agility. They allow them to obtain multiple functions for their weapon. The powers that the bearers have are more controlled than those of the Kwamis. The Kwami will inhabit the Miraculous and the person who wears it will become an animal-themed superhero.

Kwamis must eat after they have exhausted their energy. Kwamis will eat any food, but they have certain preferences. Plagg is a Camembert-only person, and we don’t see him eating any other food.

The wearer becomes a superhero and cannot communicate with his kwami. However, the latter is always aware of the wearer’s actions. Plagg, for example, doesn’t miss an opportunity to make fun of Adrien. Plagg reminds him of the horrible words he spoke to Ladybug under the influence of Heartbreaker.

It seems their knowledge of the actions of their carriers is limited, as shown in ” Ladybug” and Cat Noir. Plagg and Tikki are forced to ask their respective carrier if they have properly purified their akuma. They are also prevented from uttering their bearer’s name in Kwami by a magical “lock”. The Amalgam allows a user to combine two or more Miraculous. However, it is not known if this power can have dangerous effects on Kwamis.

Weaknesses

Even though they are divine, Kwamis can become sick. This is evident in ” Princess Fragrance”, where Tikki gets sick after Marinette defeats a villain in the pouring water. They can be healed and assisted by a Guardian. It is not known if a Kwami can become ill in a Miraculous, or to what extent it could affect him or his power. The Kwamis are the ones who allow their wielders the ability to transform and use their power. However, it is unlikely that they would be able to sustain the transformation long enough to activate the power.

In Truth, it is shown that a Miraculous who is damaged is also dangerous to his Kwami, but to a lesser degree. Duusu describes how her personality changed and how her mind became chaotic. She said that she felt like she was living in a nightmare.

It’s not clear if this happens for all kwamis, if it differs between personalities and how the jewelry has been damaged or if there are other side effects. Kwamis rely on the energy of their adult wielders to survive, so it is possible that they eat more when their Miraculous is damaged. This would explain Nathalie’s and Emilie’s cases. It is not known if the kwamis could still use their powers in this instance without a carrier.

HOW MANY KWAMISES ARE THERE

It is possible to establish a list of 33 Kwamis. Marinette’s Chinese Miracle Box has 19 of them. 14 belong to the North American one. The list could be extended by adding unknowns. Kwami are born every time a new concept is created or an emotion is expressed. There are 33.

A Kwami is required to accompany any Miraculous carrier. This is his loyal ally. Tikki, the oldest and most powerful of all the Kwamis is the most well-known. This allows Ladybug to have the power of Creation. Marinette/Ladybug establishes a close friendship.

Cat Noir is the Cat Noir Miraculous’s owner. This Miraculous is home to a Kwami who stands out. Plagg is indeed an unusual Kwami. Plagg is a lazy, grumpy champion of destruction, and a great lover of camembert. He isn’t exactly an “adorable” little creature. Each season, he strengthens the bond that binds him with Adrien.

Duusu

Concept of emotion. The Peacock Miraculous is also associated with this concept.

Nooroo

Transmission Concept. Miraculous Butterfly.

Wayzz

Protection Concept. Assoc. with the Miraculous Turtle

Trixx

Notion of Illusion. Associated with the Miraculous Fox.

Notion of Repetition. Associated with the Miraculous of the Serpent. It is closely related to the Chinese Zodiac signs.

Mullo

Mullo is the Kwami for Multiplication. It is closely related to the Miraculous Mouse pendant. The Chinese zodiac’s first animal is the mouse. His weapon is a jumprope.

Marinette chooses him to be the Kwami who saves Tikki (and Plagg) in Huntress of Kwamis. The superheroine Multimouse is then born to her. You can also combine the powers of smaller individuals with those of other Kwamis. Multinoir (fusion between Mullo, Plagg and Trixx), Multirouge and Multibug (fusion between Mullo & Tikki) are examples of hybrid holders.

The episode Sangsure of season 4 sees the Miraculous of the Mouse being loaned to Mylene Hprele. It is now Polymouse. In the same season, we also hear the voice of Mullo for the first time.

In The Battle of the Miraculous Chloe finally tries to use her powers and those of other Kwamis. She soon realizes that she doesn’t have the magic phrase to command metamorphosis. The young girl becomes angry at Mullo and other Kwamis for refusing to give it to him, and is eventually abandoned.

Fluff

Concept of Evolution. Associated with the Miraculous of the Rabbit. It is also linked to Chinese Zodiac signs. It is unclear what the concept means (Climate, Transformation or Transmutation). Associated with the Miraculous Dragon. It is closely related to the Chinese Zodiac signs.

Kaalki

Concept of Teleportation. Associated with the Miraculous of the Horse. It is also linked to Chinese Zodiac signs.

Xuppu

Emotion of joy. Associated with the Miraculous of the Monkey. It is closely related to Chinese Zodiac signs.

Barkk

Barkk can be linked to the Hound’s Miraculous collar, which fits around the neck and doesn’t need to be tied. She is the 11th Chinese animal.

It is not known what emotion or concept gave rise to it. His powers are unknown at the moment. English for “to bark” is “to bark”. However, we do know that the Dog’s Miraculous will be given to Traquemoiselle, a superpowered dog. This will be in season 4. Marinette and Chloe also have the Dog’s Miraculous in their hands, but have not activated it.

Daizzi

Daizzi is associated with the Pig’s Miraculous anklet, which is adorned with white pearls. It is not known what emotion or concept gave rise to it. His powers are unknown at the moment.

Daizzi is naturally curious and gets excited easily. It hasn’t likely had a carrier since the late 19th century. Verite is indeed surprised at Marinette’s flashlight working.

He is not captured by the supervillain in Huntress of Kwamis. He refuses to tell Chloe about the magic phrase that will transform him in Miraculous Queen.

Orikko

Orikko is related to the Miraculous of the Rooster thumb ring. The rooster represents the tenth Chinese animal. His mother is unknown. His powers are unknown at the moment.

Its name is the onomatopoeia Cocorico. It is not yet known if it is male or female. Marinette and Chloe also have the Miraculous Of The Rooster in their possession, but have not activated it. It will be finally used by Coq Courage, a new super-hero in season 4.

In Queen Banana, season 4, episode 1, her voice is heard for the first time.
He is taken hostage by Kwamis Huntress. He refuses to tell Chloe about the magic phrase that is essential for the metamorphosis in Miraculous Queen.

Roarr

Roarr is the Kwami for Exaltation. She is found in the Miraculous of the Tiger bracelet. The third Chinese animal is the Tiger. In the episode The Sandman, she makes her debut.

Roarr is wild and proud, but also has a sense of responsibility. Roarr wants the bearer of the Tiger Miraculous to show courage and authority. She is like the other Kwamis and loves to party and wish birthdays. She is also curious about new technologies.

The supervillain Huntress of Kwamis captures the little tigress. In The Battle of the Miraculous she refuses to tell Chloe the magic phrase that will enable her to transform.

Fiery is her superpower. This allows you to focus a lot of energy on your fist. The shockwave hits the enemy when this energy is released. The Tiger Miraculous grants Bolas for the wearer. The weapon is shaped like a lasso and ends in heavy balls. It can be worn as a belt or as a tail for tigers when not in use.

Juleka Couffaine, the first known bearer of the Tiger Miraculous, becomes the protagonist of season 4 in Crocoduel. She becomes the superheroine Crimson Tigress.
Roarr may not have had a carrier for as long before Juleka. Verite is indeed amazed at modern technology, such as computers.

Stompp

Stompp is closely related to the Ox Miraculous. The second Chinese animal is the ox (or buffalo). It is unknown what emotion or concept gave rise to it. His powers are not yet known. Season 4 of Miraculous is a more vivid portrayal of him, as are Ladybug and Cat Noir.

Minotaurox will use the Ox Miraculous in the future. He is expected to appear in season 4. The legendary Minotaur inspired this new character. Stompp, a Kwamis in The Sandman encourages others to continue singing to establish contact to Nooroo. He is taken prisoner in Huntress of Kwamis by the supervillain. He refuses to reveal to Chloe the magic phrase that is essential for the metamorphosis in Miraculous Queen.

Marinette and Chloe also once owned the Ox Miraculous but never activated. Ziggy Ziggy is often associated with the Goat’s Miraculous hair clips. The eighth Chinese animal is the goat. It is not known what emotion or concept gave rise to it. His powers are not yet known. His Miraculous is likely to have been inactive for quite some time. In Season 4, however, the Goat’s Miraculous will be worn by a new super hero by the name Caprikid.

Ziggy is helpful and kind. She doesn’t understand that Chloe doesn’t say “please” when he asks the Kwamis for the Miracle Queen transmission formulas. He refuses to give them. The Miraculous kwamis are the missing: They are part of the North American Miracle Box, which is guarded daily by Monk, a Guardian Order member. Besides Liiri’s story, almost nothing else is known about these magical creatures. They number 14:

Liiri

Liiri refers to the Kwami of liberty. It is closely related to the Eagle’s Miraculous, a claw pendant. This Miraculous was one among the lost Miraculous. Jessica Keynes is the carrier, a superheroine who appeared on Miraculous New York. Liiri is able to liberate others. This power is obtained by using feathers.

The Miraculous’ power of Liberation allows one to choose a person (a target), and then break down all their mental and emotional barriers. The target will be free from all of their fears and moral codes and will be able to reach their full potential. If the power is misused by a malevolent wielder, the target can spiral out-of-control and wield its power without having to worry about the consequences.

Liiri can be quite fearful, or at the very least, easily impressionable. Gabriel is not afraid of him and he reveals his powers to him nervously without Gabriel even asking. She is also a confident and enthusiastic person when he recognizes the wearer.

Thunderbird

Kwami, The Thunderbird Kwami, is often associated with the Thunderbird Miraculous. It’s a hair clip. In his original form, he was a hawk who God punished for his pride. Native American culture is well-known for the thunderbird. It is often found on Native American totems.

He is the second Kwami to be based on Longg, the little Dragon. They are mythical creatures in our world but not necessarily in Miraculous. Plagg destroyed the dragons in the series. It is possible that the thunderbird existed in Ladybug or Cat Noir.

The Otter’s Kwami

It is often associated with the Miraculous Otter. It gives you the ability to transform into an otter-related superhero.

The Bison

Kwami This Kwami connects to the Bison Miraculous, which is a toe-ring. It gives you the ability to transform into a bison-themed hero.

The Kwami of the Wolf

This Kwami is often associated with the Miraculous of the Wolf feather necklace. This necklace gives you the ability to transform into a wolf-related superhero.

The Bear Kwami

This Kwami can be connected to the Miraculous Bear Brooch. It gives you the ability to transform into a bear-themed superhero.

The Beaver

Kwami This Kwami has been associated with the Beaver Miraculous. It allows you to transform into a beaver-related superhero.

This Kwami can be linked to the Miraculous of the Deer. This gives you the ability to become a deer-themed superhero.

The Salmon
