American Gods Season 3 Ending EXPLAINED

The spirit of globalization is Mr. World. He usually appears as a thin, business-suited man. He’s content to try to recruit the Old Gods to his side, but Mr. World seems to have a special hatred for Mr. Wednesday. This is an Odin-incarnation. American Gods Season 3: Mr. World manipulates events to convince Laura Moon that he is his killer. He also offers himself and the New Gods a plausible excuse for their involvement.
EXPLANATION
Because of his no-powers policy, Odin’s assassin Laura is also hiding in America’s Middle. This is under the protection of Mr. World who appears to want to avoid war by covering the involvement of New Gods in Wednesday’s Death. Czernobog is also present in Shadow’s place to preserve the Norse death rituals. Shadow’s involves being bound to Yggdrasil (the World Tree) for many days and nights. It is a difficult request for a God, and certain death for mortals, but he is determined.

Technical Boy, who hasn’t had much to do in the last few episodes, attempts to grab the shard. He has all sorts of strange visions. Mr. World confronts him and tells him that he’s the bridge between the New Gods and the Old Gods, and that he may be the most important. He is constantly unaware of his roots as technology advances.
This radically repositions Shadow in the narrative. It makes him an important part of what’s next, which at this point isn’t clear. Shadow, who is attached to Yggdrasil, has visions of his very own. One of these visions sees him sharing a plane “technically somewhere in between” life and death. They talk about power and the lust for it, as well as how Wednesday doesn’t mind doing it, while Shadow is in denial.
We realized Wednesday needed a martyr and Shadow provided one. Shadow is taken by Yggdrasil as Wednesday leaves the plane. Czernobog speculates that this is the end for the Old Gods. Or is there something worse? Soon we will find out!
