GHOST IN THE SHELL: SAC_2045 SEASON 2 ENDING explained

Mizukane had taken over a nuclear submarine. Takashi was the mastermind. Takashi was aware of the plans of America, and had begun to plan ahead. After getting stuck in a maze of brains, the Major discovered this.
Part One

Japan was facing a Major crisis before the Major, when everything appeared normal. America was determined to annex Japan and destroy the post-humans. It planned to launch a smart gas. The gas was able to kill people and put them to sleep. After Takashi hijacked the nuclear submarine, they launched this attack. They refused to take the risk and ordered a massacre so 7 million people would die, effectively ending any threat to nuclear war.
Purin discovered this information as Major and the entire Section 9 team were on their way towards Takashi and Mizukane. They were both killed by robots sent by the NSA. While they killed Mizukane, Togusa was there to rescue Takashi. Purin was then dispatched to Mizukane’s base where she rested and sought more information. Purin informed the Major of her findings, but Takashi awoke. They tried to arrest them after the Post-humans needed to take a 15-minute break to function for 24hrs. Talk about an instant power nap that recharges them.

Takashi woke up and decided to give the button that launches the missiles to those who have the lowest chance of clicking it. After converting one of his tachikomas, he leaves.
When Purin confronts him at the base about his plan, Takashi answers her questions. The tachikomas are also on his side. Purin agrees to his plan. After their discussion, Purin and Takashi clash and Purin are defeated. Ishikawa, Borma and Saitou all die in the melee. Major shoots Takashi and loses her team. While the Americans successfully launch their aircraft and explode the Smart Gas, she blacks out.
Major discovers about the dream sequence. She wakes up in an amphitheater with similar pods to hers. Purin confronts her and takes her to Takashi. Takashi explains how the double-think phenomenon works and how he wants a world that is equal with no hint at war. This phenomenon began right around the time Togusa disappeared.

He hints at the fact that not all of the incidents that have occurred in the real-world with no conflict. The incidents can occur in real-world situations where there is no conflict. While Takashi was spreading double-think to create a world of equal conflict, Takashi was still connected with the wires. He offered Major the chance to untie the wires if she desired.
Purin is then introduced to Section 9 by the Major. The teammates don’t remember Purin and are happy to welcome her back as a new member. Major may have asked Takashi for permission to set up the cyber brain of the team to allow Purin to live her life without worrying about AI guilt. The Major then leaves the team after promising Batou Code 1A84 to help him remember the team and recognize him when they meet again. To set things straight, the Major does a second cyber jump into cyber verse and embarks on a mission of his own.
Part Two

Each country will try to make their neighbor better than the other. While counter-measures were taken to stop the peace process, another person will soon take control of the power. Takashi’s double-think is able to achieve equality, but the truth remains the same.
It is addictive with its intricate plots. The series also gives a clear view into the potential changes in society and power struggles. It will not surprise that the future is exactly what the series predicted with high-end technology and people who are interested in the hierarchy of power.
The big questions of the Ghost In The Shell: SAC_2045 season 2 ending
What is the Story Behind The Post-Humans?

Major had already sent her team to locate Togusa, and Mizukane. Purin was assigned the task of extracting information from Philip’s code. Purin discovers that AI 1A84 was created to make America a huge profit, while other countries may be at war. This led to the Sustainable War to maintain the economic fall. It created a paradox that didn’t help America.
Because the AI could not comply with its orders, the NSA shut down the AI. Before being shut down, the AI planted certain sequences in the brains of selected humans, effectively making them post-humans. Major had been skeptical that Purin might be a human, but the conversation between Purin’s AI and Major confirmed this suspicion.

Purin was effectively quarantined by the Major but she still accessed the files to hack her escape when she couldn’t report to Ishikawa. He discovered that John Smith’s bodyguard was posing as the Prime Minister while she was accessing the files. Purin immediately evacuated the premises in order to save the Prime Minister. She pointed a gun at a bodyguard and opened fire. The rest of her bodyguards saw her as a threat.
She was shot to death on the spot. Later, the Tachikomas proved her innocence.
The Tachikomas attempted to uncover Purin’s innocence and revealed her past. Batou finally recognized the girl that he consoled after a Major murderer had killed his entire family. Purin, who had been so kind to her, decided to dedicate her life to helping others and to follow Batou into Section 9. This was why Purin became obsessed with Batou, and why she wanted to join Section 9. Major pulled strings, and with the help of the tachikomas, updated Purin’s mind online. She also gave Purin a prosthetic body so she could download her cyber brain.
Armageddon?

Section 9 was contacted by the Prime Minister to report that Chief Aramaki’s car had been bombed. He promised to speak to the US President in order to get him to cancel his plan to bomb Tokyo, while Section 9 tries to capture the posthumans. Takashi appears in front of Esaki and converts him to his cause. It is also revealed that Chief Aramaki is still alive.
Major Kusanagi and Batou discover Esaki facing them. Togusa finds his way to the nuclear submarine, where he shoots the robot android that had overtaken the submarine. Many Section 9 members are killed in the battle with Esaki. Batou tries convincing Esaki, while Major Kusanagi heads toward Takashi.

Major Kusanagi takes Takashi to the camera and attempts to remove his ghost hack on the “N”, as the Americans were beginning to spread smart gas across Tokyo. When Takashi passes away, click the “N” button to wake up the robot android and launch the missile.
The concept of doublethink

Major Kusanagi, who is in the air as the nuclear missiles launch into the sky, can be seen being thrown to the ground by Takashi.
Later, Section 9 is seen returning to their normal lives with the Prime Minister awarding them a raise as well as a medal. Major Kusanagi realizes that something is wrong and she appears to be trapped in a brain maze.

John Smith is the one she visits to discover the truth. She then realizes that Takashi has connected her to Takashi’s network. When she wakes up, Esaki tells her that Takashi created an environment free from conflict by using the concept “Doublethink”. This allows people to continue living their lives in peace, even before all that has happened. Purin suggests that it could have begun when Togusa disappeared.
Esaki then takes Kusanagi and Takashi to Takashi, who are still involved in spreading Double Think throughout the world via a network of threads.
The crucial point

Takashi had converted the Americans into “N” just an hour before the gas was released. He planned it all and played both sides according to his plans. This created an egalitarian world. The majority of people live in Doublethink, but they don’t even know it.
Kusanagi is told by Takashi that Major found out because he didn’t make a contingency plan. He informs her that she can save the world by taking the cord from her neck. Kusanagi questions Purin about why she didn’t go back to Section 9. Purin replies that she felt she had betrayed Batou. Major is about to take out Takashi’s wires. The screen goes black and then moves to Section 9 headquarters, where Kusanagi introduces Purin. PM Tate thanked Chief Aramaki.
