On April 2, 2017, the first season of “Granblue Fantasy” was released. The anime is made up of 13 episodes and ended on June 25, 2017. A-1 Pictures released a special episode entitled ‘Granblue Fantasy The Animation – Kabocha no Lantern’ on November 29, 2017. This was a few months after its final episode aired.
The second season, which consists of 12 episodes, began on October 5, 2019, and concluded on December 28, 2019. The anime has not been renewed for season 3. There is still a chance that the anime will be renewed for season 3. Despite its low rating, the anime was renewed for season 2. The rating may not have an impact on the renewal of the show for season 3.

What is the Plot of ‘Granblue Fantasy?
The anime takes place in a fantasy world that is inhabited by five races: humans, Draphs, Erunes, and the unknown. The world is made up of floating islands in the sky. Kingdoms fight for power, or they try to maintain peace and preserve their sovereignty.
The series centers on Gran, a young boy who has a talking, winged lizard named Vyrn. He and his pet were able to see a hostile Erste Empire vessel in the sky one day. Gran saw Lyria, a girl, and Katalina, an Imperial Officer. They are fleeing from the Empire which wants to control the world with its advanced military technology.
Gran saves the two of them, but he is fatally injured in the process. Lyria saves Gran by joining her soul to him before he dies.
Lyria summons a powerful and massive creature, the Proto-Bahamut. This destroys the Empire forces.
Lyria, Gran, Vyrn, and Katalina join forces to travel to Estalucia, an island that is part of the Empire, to escape the Empire, and to find out more about Gran’s mysterious father. In addition, as they meet new friends and become more involved in a sinister plot, the anime follows their adventures.
