Today, Super Saiyan Trunks are all the rage.

This arc leaves many unanswered questions. How did Super Saiyan Trunks of the future become so strong?

He is capable of competing with warriors such as Goku Black, and he can hang on with Goku and Vegeta during the fight against Zamasu.

What makes Super Saiyan Trunks so strong?

How did he become so strong?

In this post, I will look at all of the data we have from both classic Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Super.

When it comes to Super Saiyan Trunks, I want to provide you with the best and most thorough answer.

How did Future Super Saiyan Trunks get so strong?

When I write a post like this, I do my best to examine all facts.

Also, I try to reach a logical conclusion that makes sense.

Unfortunately, many of you guys know that Dragon Ball Super’s power scale is confusing and inconsistent.

Some might argue that the Buu saga has already given Jacked the power skills. I would be inclined to agree with this.

We’ll try to make sense of it, so today’s question is:

What makes Future Super Saiyan Trunks so powerful?

We will be looking at several sources. We first saw his newfound strength in Trunks when he fought Goku in the anime.

Goku was delighted to learn that Trunks had achieved Super Saiyan 2 within the future timeline.

Many people are now wondering why we didn’t see him do it in Dragon Ball Z.Adver

We last saw him in Dragon Ball Z movie 9, or Dragon Ball Z episode 194, when he returned to the future to kill 17-18.

Despite some video games incorrectly stating that Trunks achieved SSJ2, it was never seen in the manga, anime, or series.

It was evident that it took place during the 17 years between Super Saiyan Trunks and Goku Black. Trunks are back, obviously.

How Trunks From The Future Have Become So Strong?

There are some inconsistencies, but not too many. This is one of the reasons I bring it up. It makes sense that Trunks was able to unlock this power in his future.

The question is, however, who Trunks trains with? I mean, everybody else was dead. Mai was all that was there at that time.

Yajirobe was also part of the main cast. Yajirobe wouldn’t be a great help to Trunks, so I don’t think so.

We do know one thing, and that is that Super Saiyan Trunks discovered from Zamas in the same episode with Zamas, that Trunks had made contact with Supreme Kai.

It was done to aid him in fighting Babidi and other Majins. We don’t know whether the Supreme Kai helped Super Saiyan Trunks train or not.

We do know, however, that there was some involvement.

Trunks may have been able to achieve that power through help and lots of training with the Z sword.

Future Trunks Z Sword

Some have speculated that the sword he carries is actually the original Z sword, which was destroyed long ago.

Although the current sword Trunks has does not look like the Z Sword, his current sword could be a future version or a different type of sword.

It could be a gift from the Gods, as Trunks was able to block the Psionic Blade Technique during Dragon Ball Super Episode 57.

Trunks could have used his own power to make that happen. It gets more bizarre if you read the Dragon Ball Super manga.

Super Saiyan Trunks Vs Super Saiyan 3 Goku

Why? We find out that Goku and Trunks were slightly different in the manga.

It was almost certainly very different.

Super Saiyan Trunks fought Goku in a sparring match. However, Trunks’ Super Saiyan 2 form was equivalent to Goku’s Super Saiyan 3.

Really…?

This is the Goku in Dragon Ball Z.

This is Goku, who trained in the Room of Spirit and Time for 3 years. He also trained with Whis and Vegeta.

It would seem that his base form is so strong that he could multiply with the transformations of SSJ3, and he would become an animal.

Although he isn’t as strong as the Gods, you’d think he would be an animal. Trunks could keep up with the Gods, but how in the hell would he do that?

This is the one thing I find it very difficult to explain. It doesn’t make sense, so I won’t be able to give you an excellent answer.

This is due to how long and how hard Goku trained, but this is also stated in the manga.

God Goku Vs Future Trunks

If Super Saiyan can hold off against SSJ3 Goku, then Trunks might be able to temporarily withstand Zamasu or Black.

He will be able to beat them, but only because of his sheer will, his willingness to fight and his balls.

For at least a short time, Trunks was able to fight Goku Black. He’s not close to being SSJ Blue, I think.

Even though Vegeta has trained me, I do not believe this to be true.

But, it’s actually that in. I believe Trunks training with Vegeta was beneficial for that short time.

We can also assume that there was additional training beyond the screen. This could explain why Super Saiyan Trunks is able to get that strong.

It would make sense, in fact, if this were the case.

It’s still a bit strange that Trunks was able to get so strong even without a training partner.

You can now go back to Dragon Ball Z to see the beginning to understand why.

The Saiyan Saga Of Dragon Ball

You can go back to the beginning of Dragon Ball Z and see the conversation between Vegeta & Nappa.

This was a key point in the development and release of the character Gohan, as well as Dragon Ball Z.

We assume that Nappa and Vegeta’s comments were indicating that a human-Saiyan hybrid is more capable than a pure-blooded Saiyan.

This was an important factor in the series reaching the Cell Games, when Gohan became the first to unlock Super Saiyan 2 versus Cell.

But, Gohan is even more beyond when Vegeta from Dragon Ball shows that he has the greatest potential of all of them, but he doesn’t train or keep his body strong.

As a result, Gohan is unable to keep up with the series.

It didn’t say that full-blooded members were capable of superseding Gohan in terms of potential.

Many fans thought Toriyama might have forgotten this factor. But, guess what?

Future Saiyan Trunks

Future Trunks also comes from a half-breed. He is the son and daughter of the prince of Saiyans, and the princess of technology.

This is why I think he has more potential than Gohan.

Super Saiyan Trunks is living the dream of Gohan; he has a strong base form and is very focused on training.

Although they were raised in a different way, it is still the same.

Both are hybrids, so it makes sense that Super Saiyan Trunks’ power would be higher than other characters.

This is why he has so much potential and why his Super Saiyan version 2 was able to keep up with Super Saiyan 3 Goku.

That was before Trunks’ training with Vegeta, which made him stronger.

The question then is, “Why can’t Trunks use God form?”

One thing we have learned is that God Ki can only be unlocked in two ways.

One is to perform the ritual. I thought it was only for pure-blooded Saiyans.

Two, if you’re trained by a higher-being like Whis to help you tap into your inner God Ki.

A little of this was seen in Dragon Ball Super’s Resurrection F Arc filler. Trunks has never trained with Whis. He’s trained only with Vegeta.

Super Saiyan Blue Future Trunks

We don’t know if Vegeta actually teaches Vegeta how to do this, even though Vegeta does it.

This may not be something Vegeta is too eager to teach, so Trunks might not be able to unlock Super Saiyan Blue.

One of the most mysterious directions that I have seen in fandom is that God can only be granted to pure-blooded Saiyans.

This is not always true. In fact, it’s not stated in the manga nor in the anime.

As far as we know, Goten, Trunks and Gohan all can be trained or used to unlock God Ki rituals.

In the Manga version of Goku’s fight against Super Saiyan Trunks, we saw Goku actually tapping into his God Ki and that was the only method he was able to beat Trunks.

Conclusion

Super Saiyan Trunks, as a conclusion, is insanely strong and probably stronger than he should be.

It’s kinda like a story convenience thing, but I don’t think he’s as good as Super Saiyan Blue.

Although I believe he was fighting for his life in the fight against Goku Black and Zamasu, I don’t think he’s silent at this level.

He is, however, the strongest Saiyan that we have ever seen without God Ki, which is a questionable fact.
