Loot Season 1 Episode 9 recap

Jean-Pierre and Molly inform the team they will attend the “Silver Moon Summit“, which will overshadow Sofia’s announcement of the approval of the foundation’s affordable housing development.

Molly and Sofia attend the zoning voting vote. However, Molly is attacked by ugly comments and pies. Jean-Pierre kidnaps her shortly afterwards. Arthur defends her. He is asked to assume the lead role in Nicholas’ play Cahoga lake.

Howard spends the day helping Tanya find a way to let go of her insistence calls. Howard learns the truth about Tanya’s selfishness at the theatre, and ends their relationship.

Nicholas is finally moved to tears when he tells Nicholas that he loves him and is proud of his performance. Molly is absent, but the crew congratulates Nicholas on his performance.

Sofia’s thoughts on the Silver Moon Summit.

The finale of Loot‘s Season 1 begins with Sofia using a ride-sharing service to get to the airport to catch her flight to Corsica’s Silver Moon Summit. They pass by a homeless area on their way. Her driver said that he believes “those people” should stop being lazy and find work. Sofia does not like his style or the words he uses, so she walks the remainder of the way.

Molly then welcomes the Foundation employees on Corsica. Nicholas then forgives her for not attending his play. Although he says he couldn’t be mad at her but is clearly depressed about the incident,

Molly says to her that she must have a vision. Sofia asks, “Who’s vision?” Molly sounds like Molly is being swept up by another man’s vision, as she was with John. Molly informs Molly that she doesn’t need to get her permission for the things she does with her money.

Do Arthur and Molly still feel for each other?

Howard and Nicholas learn that Arthur has admitted to Chelsea that he split with her. He denies that there was a strong relationship. Later, he admits to them that he is still in love with Molly and doesn’t know how to fix it.

Howard and Nicholas both agree that they have chemistry and think Jean-Pierre has a negative influence on Molly. Arthur might be a good fit for her.

How did Molly’s presentation at the Summit turn out?

Molly, Jean-Pierre and Molly invested in a water purification system. Molly demonstrated it at her Summit presentation. A pitcher of muddy water is held up by Molly before the presentation, but it’s still brown when it comes out.

Molly insists that the water is safe and clean. Molly takes a sip of the water, clearly disgusted. She drank the whole glass to save her face, as she spent billions of dollars on this machine.

Did Molly leave the Wells Foundation?

Jean-Pierre and John both discover that the machine is malfunctioning, and they decide to visit Molly. Jean-Pierre suggests they go on a short vacation and keep out of the public eye.

Molly is unsure what to do with the promises they made. But he tells Molly (using Sofia’s least favorite words), that “those people” will still be there in a few decades.

Molly writes a note to Sofia for the Wells Foundation. She claims she has only made their lives more difficult and is stepping out of the foundation. They’ll still have her money but not her.

Can Sofia convince Molly to return?

Sofia meets Molly at her plane. Molly tells Sofia that Jean-Pierre has split up with her. He wasn’t who she believed him to be.

Molly tells Sofia that Molly is the reason Sofia started to get to know her team. Molly brought them together and made them stronger. She doesn’t accept her resignation.

Sofia says Molly isn’t the problem. Her money is. People think that they can share their life with others because of money. Molly does not have to live like that.

Molly wonders, “What if the story is changed?”

What will Molly do with her money?

Molly is back at the conference to participate in a panel discussion. She discusses with the crowd how the products being discussed are not solutions. Rather, they’re distractions.

Everybody at this conference is wealthy. They are probably the worst people to be discussing changing the world. They all benefit from the system, so why would they listen when others tell them they are the problem?

Molly states, “Billionaires shouldn’t exist.” “I shouldn’t exist.”

She claims she will give all of her money away and then promises to help as many people she can.

When does “Loot” season 1 begin?

Molly’s coworkers are all proud of her decision. Nicholas inquires if Molly plans to keep any of her money. He is assured that he will not need the money, because he is a “brilliant actor with a bright futurity.” (She is essentially firing him and seeing it as a gesture of kindness. She also promised not to miss another of his performances.

Arthur approached Molly at the pool that night. Arthur says that she was amazing and Molly confesses that she wants a more normal, quieter life.

He claims he has something he wants her to discuss, but we don’t hear their conversation. She wakes up the next morning with John, not Arthur.

The Episode Review

Nicholas is the protagonist Loot should’ve chosen as his focus. Imagine this: A billionaire’s assistant becomes disillusioned by his boss and her performative environment, while he discovers the goodness of people from the working classes, like Howard.

Molly is back at the conference to announce that she’s giving all her money away

Molly is the victim of bad press. A few text messages were also sent by John Novak, her ex-husband.

Jean-Pierre suggests they escape for a while to let things calm down. Molly flees to her private plane, leaving behind a resignation letter.

Sofia follows Molly and informs her that she won’t accept her resignation. She is vital to the foundation. The problem is not the money.

Molly then returns to The Silver Moon Summit in an effort to “change the narrative.” She declares that she will give away all $120 billion worth of her fortune. She says, “I promise that I will do my best and help as many people as possible.”

Sofia, Arthur, Howard (Ron Funches), as well as everyone else at the foundation, applaud Molly. Nicholas (Joel Kim Booster), however, is hesitant to leave Molly’s billionaire lifestyle. They celebrate Molly’s announcement over drinks.
