Shadows House Season 2: First Impressions & Episode 1 Recap

Shadows House is an adaptation of a mystery manga by Shomato. Season 1 had its own ending, but Season 2 (which wasn’t clear back then) is continuing the Shadows House manga.

Episode 1 of Season 2 is fun and creepy and has a lot to offer.

The show opens with Barbie and Barbara, her Shadow mistress, confronting an intruder. Emilyko has given the robed figure Mister Robe or “Robesan” its nickname.

Emilyko is alerted to the fact that she cannot be trusted after a late-night meeting with living dolls. Barbara believes Emilyko may know more about the robed figure, but she isn’t able to provide any additional information.

Kate still wants to rebel against the Shadow House’s mind control and oppressive rules. She doesn’t trust her peers, some of whom are still brainwashed dolls.

Emilyko questions Lou about Rum’s fate in Shadows House Season 1. Lou encourages Emilyko not to think about trivial issues, showing her that she is still conditioned to full loyalty to Shadows. However, she still cares about Emilyko.

John and Shaun are, for the most part, still Emilyko’s and Kate’s friends, but Shaun is acting quite cold at the moment and John seems too focused on his crush on Kate to consider rebellion.

Kate manages to still recruit John but it is not without difficulty as Suzana (a star-bearer who helps younger Shadows control their soot) observes everything.

It’s unclear if Suzana is aware of the episode. Barbara storms into Suzana’s room and releases large amounts of soot.

Barbara emits more smoke than all Shadows combined, and this makes her special and valuable to younger shadows.

In the post-credit scene, a sweeter and more gentle Barbie comforts a distressed Barbara, presumably in flashback.

The Shadows House Season 2 first episode is just as entertaining as Season 1 and in some cases even more.

It takes a lot to build up an anime like Shadows House, in order to introduce its large cast of characters and fantasy concepts. So it’s not a bad idea to come back into the sinister dark world with some knowledge and care about the characters.

Barbie and Barbara appear to be the main focus of this season. Robe-san will likely drive Shadows House Season 2 forward.

Shadows House Season 2 Episode 2 Release Date

The 16th of July 2022 will mark the release date for Shadows House Season 2 episode 2. It will be available for viewing in the US, Canada, and Europe starting Friday, July 15.
