Star Wars: Andor Episode 4 Ending Explained
Andor Episode 4 Ending Explained. Star Wars: Andor is an American TV series created by Tony Gilroy for the streaming service Disney+ as a part of the Star Wars franchise. A prequel to the Star Wars spin-off film Rogue One (2016), the series follows thief-turned-Rebel spy Cassian Andor during the 5 years leading up to the events of the film. The first three episodes of “Andor” revolved around Cassian’s (Diego Luna) efforts to sell an NS-9 Starpath unit to Bix’s (Adria Arjona) secret buyer, Luthen Rael (Stellan Skarsgård).

However, it turned out that Rael hadn’t traveled all the way to Ferrix to buy what Cassian was selling. Instead, he was there to recruit him for a mission to truly fight the Empire. Since this is “Star Wars,” things clearly didn’t go smoothly as Bix’s jilted boyfriend, Timm (James McArdle), informed the Pre-Mor authorities about Cassian’s whereabouts. That led to a full-on battle between the town of Ferrix and the “military” of Pre-Mor troopers helmed by one Syril Karn (Kyle Soller). Given Syril’s ineptitude, Cassian managed to get out of Ferrix with Rael, thereby moving into the next chapter of his life.
Star Wars: Andor Premise
Beginning 5 years before the events of Rogue One (2016), the series follows an ensemble cast of characters during the time that a Rebel Alliance is forming against the Galactic Empire. One of these characters is Cassian Andor, a thief who becomes a revolutionary and finally joins the Revolt.
Andor Episode 4 Review

The episode opens with Cassian and Luthen (Stellan Skarsgard) on the latter’s ship, discussing their next steps. Cassian is cautiously skeptical about Luthen and his motives and asks him to drop him off so that they can go their separate ways. Luthen contests this, explaining that it’s worthwhile to commit to a significant cause instead of running around and hiding, as the time is ripe to hit the Imperials where it truly hurts. Cassian emphasizes the importance of living a peaceful life, saying that he’s had his share of chaos, citing an incident on Mimban.
Luthen reveals that he’s aware of every detail of Cassian’s past, and puts the record straight by revealing that the only reason Cassian survived the attack on Mimban was that he chose to run away. “You’ll eventually die fighting these bastards,” Luthen tells Cassian, which is a heartbreaking foreshadowing of the events of Rogue One. Cassian agrees to the plan after being promised 200K together with a blue Kyber crystal locket as a downpayment for the mission.
Imperial Office Politics, Mon Mothma, And A Master Of Disguises

Elsewhere, Imperial intelligence officers are having a meeting discussing their corpo-political affairs, and the incident on Ferrix is brought up by one of the officers. This piques the interest of Dedra Meero (Denise Gough), who wants to climb the corporate ladder fast and dirty, and she demands details concerning the stolen Starpath unit that was retrieved on the scene. She’s denied, being (rightly) accused of reckless careerism, although her boss disregards her concerns that rebel pockets have been forming, significant enough for her to notice a pattern.
Will Dedra follow in Syril’s footsteps and botch her own career, or is she smart enough to keep the Andor problem in covert ways? We’ll see. Speaking of Syril, he’s been packed off to Coruscant resulting from his failed mission on Ferrix, and now he’s staying with his mum. It’s bizarre to see someone with such a desperate brand of stupid ambition (without the skills to back it up) sitting idle, and I wonder what the dude is going to do next. Moving on to more important things on Coruscant, we see Luthen changing his look and roleplaying as an antique sales dealer, which acts as a cover for talking with Mothma.

Mothma arrives at the store and tells him that it’s getting difficult to move money around to fund rebel causes, but he appeals to her that this is more important than ever. Mothma also speaks of bringing a new member into the fold, and Luthen reluctantly agrees to this new development. At this juncture, I wish to discuss the importance of Mothma being allowed to develop as a complex character.
Though the character made a brief appearance in The Return of the Jedi and has been an integral part of the Star Wars expanded universe, we only saw her motivations in some detail in Rogue One. Andor sets Mothma up as a key character (as she deserves to be), situating her as one of the focal points that hold the mere idea of a Rebel Alliance alive. Aside from funding these extremely dangerous missions, she has to juggle her public identity as a politician who is constantly being watched by the Imperials.
Andor Episode 4 Ending explained

This week’s episode begins with Cassian and Luthen Rael jumping off to lightspeed toward Aldhani on the latter’s ship. The older of the two offers Cassian a choice to help battle the Empire or drop him off elsewhere. Luthen adds that he’ll pay him 200,000 for 5 days of his service, a proposal which Cassian accepts. Over in Coruscant, Dedra Meero reports to the Imperial Security Bureau Head Partagaz. The latter, in the meantime, admonishes his staff for being incompetent. Meanwhile, he receives a report involving increasing construction in Scarif.
In Aldhani, Luthen tells Cassian to choose a new alias and he chooses to go by Clem. He later gives him a Kuati Signet, a piece of jewelry manufactured from Kyber Crystal. Cassian is later introduced to Vel Sartha as Clem, who’s reluctant to let a new person into the crew for this mission. Vel leads Clem back to her crew and instructs him that his addition to the mission was always part of the plan, which is to attack an Imperial garrison. She tells him that Aldhani’s location in the galaxy is important to the Empire’s distribution effort. An Imperial inspector named Lieutenant Blevin relieves Syril Karn, his superior, and other officers for failing to capture Andor.
He also tells them that the Morlana system is now under the permanent jurisdiction of the Empire. Syril then returns home, disgraced and humiliated. Back in the Imperial Security Bureau, Dedra notices an NS-9 Starpath unit missing, the same one Cassian stole. She confronts Lieutenant Blevin concerning the missing unit and the incident that prompted it in Morlana. Due to the inspector’s refusal to help, Dedra is compelled to investigate the matter on her own. Meanwhile in Aldhani, Vel introduces Clem to her crew, which includes Skeen, Taramyn, Nemik, and Cinta.
As his wounded arm is being treated, Taramyn confronts Vel about including a new person this late into the mission. Vel reiterates that she trusts Clem and that’s enough. As that is happening, Luthen returns to Coruscant and meets with Senator Mon Mothma. As Kleya, Luthen’s assistant, distracts the senator’s driver, they talk concerning the funds he needs to help their battle against the Empire. She leaves without committing to anything since the Empire is increasing efforts to monitor all potential threats to them.
As she returns home, Mon finds her husband preparing a cocktail party for a governor and other people who are not supporters of her advocacies. They fight over it before Mon walks away. While he’s just starting to settle in, Clem is confronted by another member of Vel’s crew named Lieutenant Gorn. He argues that including Clem in the plan just makes it more complicated. Shortly after, Vel goes over all the plan to the group, including Clem. He comments that their escape run will probably be done quickly due to Tie Fighters patrolling the area.

For her part, Vel tells him that a celestial event that happens every three years will function as their distraction to help them escape. Partagaz reprimands Dedra for overreaching her boundaries in work and not acting on verified information. After Blevin leaves, he further explains the work they do and its importance to the Empire. At night time, Taramyn gives a tablet containing detailed Aldhani information and other details of the plan to Clem. Vel takes the first watch as the crew goes off to sleep
