Ten Percent season 1 recap

Ten Percent season 1 recap

Call My Agent, or Dix Pour Cent as it was known in France, was the definition of a sleeper hit series. The comedy-laden series, which starred cameos about a troubled Parisian talent agent, was first shown on the continent in 2015. It only made it to Netflix during the pandemic.

It was refreshingly different from the usual French style, rich directing, dry humor, and highly invested characters. This was for an audience that had been stuffed on banana bread and Tiger King. The comedy-drama featured the main agents Andrea, Mathias, Gabriel, and Arlette from ASK (Agency of Samuel Kerr).

They whizzed around Paris, doing whatever it took to make their clients happy. They were as fiercely competitive with one another as they were against outside influence, financial ruin, and saboteurs. You can’t go wrong with some ridiculous cameos by Cecile de France and Monica Bellucci, as they all play heightened versions of their characters. This series is one of the most entertaining subtitled ever.

We attended the two-episode preview screening of Ten Percent, a London-set remake. It could have the same… va voom. We need not be concerned, Reader. This interpretation was written by John Morton ( ). It combines all his sardonic touches and a touch of pathos with all the grace of the original, but with more heart and British humor.

Nightingale Hart is the new name for Call My Agent!’s Agence Samuel Kerr talent agency. It’s located near Goodge Street in London, which doesn’t have quite the same visual appeal of the 1st arrondissement. It’s otherwise as expected. It has a Mathias (Jack Davenport’s Jonathan), and an Andrea (Lydia Leonard), as Rebecca.

There is also a Gabriel (Prasanna Puwanarajah), now Dan, and an Arlette, which is an underused Maggie Steed as Stella. The same actors, their family members and assistants are there. It shares many of the same plots and conceits as the original, but also some of the original’s fun spirit and bounce.

John Morton wrote Ten Percent. He satirized corporate buffoonery in Twenty Twelve as well as W1A. However, given his experience and caliber, the satirical aspect of this show is strangely toothless considering his level and talent. It should be funny for actors to send themselves up, and it does so on occasion.

Dominic West is a charming West End Hamlet who struggles to understand a screen-heavy, Ivo van Hove-esque production. David Harewood storms in at the final to take the finale. It plays it too safe. It’s ageist, actors make fun of it! There are huge egos in this industry! But not the people. Although it’s great to see celebrities like Helena Bonham Carter or Himesh Patel there is very little self-deprecation. It seems like an oversight or missed opportunity for a British version.

Ten Percent season 1 recap

The Parisian boujee streets are being replaced by the quirky charm of Soho. This new cast brings new enthusiasm. Jonathan Nightingale, Rebecca Fox (Lydia Leonard), Stella Hart(Maggie Steed), Dan Bala (“Prasanna Puwanarajah”) and Jonathan’s estranged daughter Misha (HiftuQuasem) are the Nightingale Hart Agency. Stella’s dog Mathias is a beautiful Easter egg tribute to the original.

It’s pretty much the same plot. The first episode shows the agency coming to terms with the death of its founder. However, the casting of Jim Broadbent gives it a more human touch. Helena Bonham Carter and Kelly McDonald are excellent as themselves. Tim McInnery is a great stage actor playing Simon Gould. The storyline is quite different from the source material after the first two episodes. But, if the quality continues to be this good, we will not mind.

Call my Agent, the UK’s new series, has already been translated into Turkish and South Korean. Other projects in the pipeline include the adaptation of Call my Agent in Indonesian, Polish, and Indian. It remains to be seen how those will turn out, but the Brits have done a great job. Here’s your chance, if you missed the magnificent French show, to make up the difference.

Ten Percent Season 2 Story

Nightingale Hart, a talent agency based in Britain, helps its clients get noticed. They are experts in their field and have a solid reputation. It is now up to the agents to continue the agency’s operation after the sudden death of the founder.

They encountered many issues, including changes in clients. These were all problems that they had to address simultaneously while on their trip. Jonathan, who was the most vulnerable, decides that he will sell the agency to a group from America. Kristen is put in charge of the agency but gets pulled into a hilarious plot.
