J.C. Staff’s Disastrous Life of Saiki K debuted in Japan in October of 2016. It’s an anime adaptation of manga (with the same title) and written by Shuichi Aso.

The storyline of the anime is inspired by the Saiki Kusuo no Psi Nan manga series (also written under the name Saiki Kusuo no Ps-nan) by mangaka Shuichi Aso. The manga series was first serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2012 and was later collected in a hardcover tankobon format. The Ending Volume 26 was published in Japan on the 23rd of August 2018.
At the time of the end of the 2nd season there is no publisher outside of the United States that has granted the English version of The Disastrous Life Of Saiki K. manga series. There are fan translations based on English projects, but they’ve translated just two-thirds of the chapters and consequently are in the midst of events from the animated series. The anime adaptation did not cover a lot of chapters, so it’s still worth reading starting from the beginning.
There’s not much available source material to adapt as the manga ended with Chapter 279. The first season was adapted up until Chapter 123 and Season 2 Episode 14 corresponded with Chapter 196 which can be found included in Volume 19. The second season covered the bulk of the story arcs that were left.
In September of 2018, Weekly Shonen Jump confirmed that the anime would conclude the story of the manga’s first volume. The anime studio’s staff J.C. Staff/Egg Firm revealed an image that claimed, “Finally, a conclusion… ?”
It was released as such by Netflix for Season 3, the special finale anime adapted the last chapters of the manga. Kusuo and his classmates took the trip to Oshimai City (“oshimai” literally means “The End”).
It is, however, possible to create an anime sequel that is based on manga. The manga’s original one-shot series could have ended early 2018, however, there was a chance that Saiki Kusuo no Psi Nan manga was revived with Jump Giga magazine with a four-panel manga sequel that began on March 5th in 2018. Jump Giga has been an unpublished spin-off of Weekly Shonen Jump as well. It’s unclear what the length of this manga’s sequel is going to run.
It’s not known the exact date The Disastrous Life Of Saiki K. Season 4 will follow the new four-panel manga. The two seasons skipped a lot of chapters from the original manga but not enough to warrant Saiki Kusuo no Psi Nan Season 4.
Alongside stories from the chapters that have not been adapted, the manga sequel could be the foundation for the fourth season. In the end, Saiki K. Season 4 is planned to consist of only six episodes. Therefore, anime original content shouldn’t be needed, but we’ll wait to see what happens.
The Disastrous Life Of Saiki K.: Netflix Release Date For Season 2 Part 2 Finally Arrived… With No Dub
Although the Japanese are already discussing Saiki Kusuo no Psi Nan Season 3, Netflix U.S. and UK just recently launched The Disastrous Life Of Saiki K. Season 2 for Americans to watch in a frenzied manner. The Disastrous Life Of Saiki K. Season 2 episodes 13 through 24 were released as a part two months later to Netflix U.S.
It is currently missing an English dub as that of the original season. There is no word about when Netflix will air The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. English dub for Season 2.
