Vinland Saga Season 1 finale
The Vinland Saga’s final chapter begins in York. King Sweyne makes an appearance in Imperial Council. However, the situation between the Danish and the Canute assassins worsens. Sweyn speaks with the elders and announces the Viking conquest in England. He praises Thorkell, Canute, and Mercia. King Sweyne ordered the warriors to attack Ireland in revenge for the humiliation suffered by King Harald by Brian Boru. Askeladd believes his strategy worked and is surprised when King Sweyn announces his intention to subdue Wales during spring. He believes that they are planting the seeds for rebellion.
Thorfinn is severely beaten and sent into jail after he creates havoc on the streets. Thorfinn was met by Leif Erikson in prison and discussed the possibility of returning to Iceland. Floki reveals Askeladd’s reaction to the attack on Wales at the Imperial Council. Askeladd has other ideas and reveals to Floki that Thorkell’s mother is Welsh. He told him to keep this secret. The king summons Prince Canute and offers him a reward. Sweyne requests him to choose between Wales or Canute. He must also kill Canute if he chooses Wale.

Canute saw Askeladd protecting him as he fought with the Danish soldiers. Thorfinn is present in the battle and cuts Caunte. However, Caunte lives and continues to command. After dropping his knife, Thorffin is finally taken from the battlefield.
