Ray has two close friends: Riya (Dalai), his schoolmate, and Varun (Ankur Rahee), whom he confides in his love life and struggles.

His parents, Rahul Bose (and Suchitra Pillai), set him up with Pari, their friend. Ray, however, is unable to stand up and is told off.

She arranges him with Karishma, her ex-colleague who has recently been in a relationship breakup. While the date is going well Ray makes a rude joke about her grandfather which ruins the night.

Ray and Riya go to a party together with Riya’s friends. Ray is attracted to Naina, one of his friends, but he becomes flustered and ignores her. She eventually kisses another man.

Ray had told his parents that Pari held him up. He wishes to get sick when his parents invite him to dinner at Pari’s house. Pari’s father, who was very sick, cancels the dinner. Wiz believes this is because Pari wanted to get sick.

After the heart attack, he messages her and they reunite when he visits her in the hospital. He also downloads Homerun, a dating app.

Ray’s father tells Ray to avoid saying stupid things and to ‘be himself, diaper’. This analogy comes straight from the baby shop Ray runs.

Ray and Wiz leave the Ruchika episode to go on an adventure in uncharted territory, searching for condoms.

Ray searches in his own home until he finally makes sense. He then visits the chemist to ask more questions about the different types of drugs.

Varun sends Ray an invitation to Priyanka and him for their celebration party. Ray is also told by Varun to reconcile with Riya.

Ray offers Umesh, his househelp, Umesh’s homemade chicken curry. This was a peace offering.

They have a good conversation and they both apologize to one another. Ray invites Riya, her friends and to Varun’s engagement party.

They also have a “How I Met Your Mother” moment where they make a deal to marry each other if both are single over 40 years, much like Ted and Robin did.

Ray is given a deadline by his parents: if Ray can’t find a job within a few days they will send him to work for their friend.

He prepares for Varun’s party, and meets Naina at that event. Although it’s awkward, they accept that bygones are bygones. Komal also gets into a heated argument with him, which happens every time they meet.

Riya says to him that she called Arjun (the man she wants to be with), and he told her that he had split up with his girlfriend. His girlfriend called him and told him to leave.

Ray and Wiz are both frustrated that things have not gone their way. Ray tells Wiz he is going with the flow and has no plans.

He is clearly intoxicated and dances like no other, having a great time at the party right before the blackout.

Who is Ray ‘ending up’ with?

Ray awakens the next morning with no memories of the night before. He’s in bed, clearly having slept with someone after the party. It was a good idea to get a condom.

Wiz and he quickly tried to figure out with whom they had slept. Is it Riya or Naina? It turns out that he actually slept in bed with Komal.

Ray is left confused and surprised by how things turned out. He tells Wiz that Komal has no interest in him and that she is crazy.

Just as Ray is about to leave, Komal and his parents stand in front of him giving the most beautiful smiles of all. Ray and Wiz know that they are in trouble. Is Ray and Naina “a thing” now?

Vihaan Samat lends Ray a likeable, believable quality. To radiate infectious energy, Jim Sarbh doesn’t even need to be present on screen. His disembodied voice does it all.

Mumbai’s 24-year-old lad is as desperate as a tadpole to get a girlfriend. What’s the big deal? The main point is that, while the boy does his job and obeys his raging hormones, his wandering heart and mind can lead him astray when the need arises.

Ray (Vihaan Saat), the main character in this Netflix series, is a typical lustful boy his age. He gets too excited about his routine and becomes all confused. Eternally Confounded and Eager to Love is written and directed by Rahul Naair and shows the misadventures of young men in pursuit of steady dates.

Eight episodes of the series focus on Rahul Bose, a senior marketing executive who has a son who is scatty and works for a diaper company. After he gets into trouble with a blind date, and needs a pep talk, his father advises him to learn how to catch his own stink before it causes a stink.

Ray does not trust his dad (Suchitra Pillai), nor his mom (Suchitra) because Ray isn’t close to them. They play a minor role in Ray’s life. His faith is reserved blindly for the figurine of the wizard that hangs from a keychain. This figurine represents the boy’s open, candid and chatty mind. The boy is constantly reminded by the imaginary confidant that he is an embarrassment.

Ray’s rat-a-tat, unrelenting, snarky bantering with his “inner voice”, for better or worse, occupies the largest portion of the narrative. Although the unrelenting verbal joust may be amusing, it is sometimes too ineffective to have a full impact.

Ray’s attention is constantly changing and girls drift in and out of his orbit. Ray is known for his awkward manners and can’t keep a good laugh at any time.

Wiz, the wise wizard accuses Ray of engaging in self-sabotage.

Many actresses, including Namrata Sheth and Devika Vatsa as Tanya Katyal and Tanya Katyal as Niharika Lyra dutt, Ayana Gaziz as Ray’s daughter, and Tanya Katyal as Tanya Katyal as Ray, dance in and out of the show. Ray, an obstinate hero who is encouraged by his guide, discovers that finding a girl is not easy.

Although the ‘voice’ is always right, the young man will find a way to make a living for himself whenever he sets out on his quest for a girlfriend. His parents sometimes set him up with his daughter from a close friend. At other times, a dating site guides him to a match. Sometimes Wiz helps him but it is not always successful.

One of the many encounters that go wrong borders on being juvenile. Ray would prefer to not be forced to go to a party at the house of a girl whose parents want him to. Instead, the party is cancelled after the girl’s father has a heart attack. Ray takes responsibility for this unexpected turn of events. Wiz also feels that an apology is in order for the boy’s death.

The breathless Wiz can either hold the protagonist or give him a push, depending on the circumstances. Ray can get a lot of ideas from him, which he will then put into practice. But trouble is always chasing Ray.

Ray has a few years to go before he can get free advice from his trusted schoolmate Riya (Dalai), and an office colleague Varun(Ankur Rathee). Ray’s flirtations and disasters often test Ray’s patience, so Dalai as well as Ankur Rathee have been able to be effective friends.

Jim Sarbh is the voice of Ray’s toy who gives him relationship advice. Although he is not physically present, Sarbh, a strong aural presence and powerful conceptual presence, is the star of the series. Sometimes, you almost want the voice to take on a body and leap out of the screen.

Creative directors are also given credit to the producers of Eternally Confounded and Eager For Love, Excel Entertainment’s Ritesh and Farhan Akhtar, and Tiger Baby’s Zoya and Reema Akhtar – both from Excel Entertainment.

It is impossible to know for certain if Ray’s involvement in so many creative forces has led to the show being set up as a series interconnected skits that are performed in restaurants, at Ray’s work, around Ray’s dining table, and even in the hospital cafeteria. This sexy mix teaches the protagonist a lot about the world and opposite sex.

Ray is always in bad news, and Wiz will never tire of it. The boy in the trance turns and asks, “Why are you so negative?” The toy confidant replies, “I’m not being negative, but I’m being realistic.” Ray is constantly irritated by reality, but he continues to live his life.

The series may appear to be a slice of life coming-of-age story, but it often launches into flights of fancy that lead to landings that are smooth enough to pass the test. The ones that do not cause permanent damage are the ones that don’t.

Eternally Confounded and Eager to Love is, in a certain way, a story of mishaps. Ray’s first date went horribly wrong and Wiz stepped in to say, “This is your horror story.” Ray is a lurch-walker, hoping for a life-altering miracle. This is Ray’s lot.

The show is not capable of producing miracles. It is limited to a very narrow graph. Eternally Confounded and Eager to Love clearly targets a Gen Z audience. They will likely find much to relate to. Ray is portrayed by Vihaan Samat, who gives Ray a relatable and likeable quality, despite the many missteps he takes along the way. Although it may seem flimsy, it’s still entertaining for the most part. Jim Sarbh doesn’t even need to be there to give off infectious energy. His disembodied voice does it all.
