Episode 5 Recap

Dr. Bettencourt and Diane survived a car bomb explosion close to their workplace. The vehicle bomb is common. During the hearing, Marissa is joined by Eli Gold’s defense team. Eli, who was indicted for fraud, evades questions until Frank Landau testifies. Marissa is egged on by Eli to take a short recess so they can strategize against Frank turning against them. Richard makes unattainable promises and takes over Reddick & Associates. Jay is asked by Liz to investigate Ri’Chard’s motives. Liz doesn’t get it.

Marissa would like to cross-examine Landau. Eli accuses Marissa of joining the defense in order to prevent her from testifying. Marissa consoled Eli after he said he had killed Landau. Eli feared he would be killed soon. Marissa left Gold’s defense team to testify against Eli in court. Liz asked Marissa for counsel before she joined Diane for a glass of wine.

Diane encouraged Eli and Marissa to continue fighting. Marissa confessed in court that Landau misunderstood her as helping her father with technology. Richard and Liz, who were fighting, left the Democratic fundraiser and went to bed together. Liz learned more about Ri’Chard by visiting his house.

Although I am currently a law student, I initially watched this episode only out of curiosity. However, I found it quite engaging. I feel obliged to thank the show’s creators and producers for their outstanding work. I cannot wait to see the next episodes.
